The meaning of sincerity toward the Book of Allah the Exalted.
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"The religion is sincerity."
We asked, "To whom, O Messenger of Allah?"
He replied, "To Allah, His Book, His Messenger,
to the leaders of the Muslims, and to their common folk."

Sincerity toward the Book of Allah the Exalted
includes believing that it is the speech of Allah the Exalted and His revelation,
that nothing from the speech of creation resembles it,
and that no one is capable of producing anything like it.
It includes honoring it and reciting it as it ought to be recited,
by articulating its letters correctly and beautifying them,
and by having khushu' (humility and focus) while doing so.
It includes affirming the reports contained within it,
and adhering to the rulings it contains.
It includes magnifying it, taking heed of its admonitions and parables,
and reflecting upon its wonders.
It includes knowing its sciences,
such as its clear (muhkam) and ambiguous (mutashabih) verses,
its general (amm) and specific (khas) rulings,
and its abrogating (nasikh) and abrogated (mansukh) verses,
and all else pertaining to that.
Defending it,
by refuting the interpretations of those who distort it,
and responding to those who attack it.
It includes ruling by it and seeking judgment through it,
and rejecting any laws or statutes that contradict it.
