Chapter on making people’s judgments based on the outward appearance and their secrets to God Almighty
On the authority of Osama bin Zaid, may God be pleased with them both, he said
We sent the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to Al-Harqa from Juhayna
So we became the people by their waters
A man from the Ansar and I followed another man from among them
When we betrayed him, he said, “There is no god but God.”
So Al-Ansari stopped him and I stabbed him with my spear until I killed him
When we arrived at Medina, this news reached the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
He said to me, “O Osama.”
I killed him after he said there is no god but God
I said, O Messenger of God, he was accustomed to it
He said: Did you kill him after he said there is no god but God?
He kept repeating it to me until I wished I had not converted to Islam before that day

In a narration, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said
He said there is no god but God and I killed him
I said, O Messenger of God, he said it out of fear of weapons
He said: Did you not open his heart so that you would know whether he said it or not?
He kept repeating it until I wished I had converted to Islam that day

He said he is accustomed to it, meaning he is committed to it from killing, not out of belief in it
So we became the people, that is, we came to them in the morning

So he asked him and told him

So he called him and asked him
He said why did you kill him?
He said, O Messenger of God
The most painful thing among Muslims
He killed so-and-so and so-and-so
He called him a group
And I carried him
When he saw the sword, he said:
There is no god but God
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said
I killed him
He said yes
He said
How can you do that there is no god but God?
If the Day of Resurrection comes
He said
O Messenger of God
Ask forgiveness for me
He said
And how to make there is no god but God
