Allah the Exalted says:
“And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil).” (25:74)
A man asked al-Hasan al-Basri about this verse:
“And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil).” (25:74)
"Is this 'coolness of the eyes' in this world or in the Hereafter?"
He replied, "Rather, it is in this world."
"By Allah, it is for the servant to see obedience to Allah in his children."
"And there is nothing more cooling to the eye of the believer,"
"than to see his loved one in obedience to Allah."
