Pause. Get to know the Companions, the scholars, and the prominent figures. A new challenge: Who am I? I am one of the Companions. And I am the freedman of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. I was a slave belonging to Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her. She said to me, "I set you free." I replied, "Even if you had not made that a condition for me, I would never have parted from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, as long as I lived." So she set me free. One day, I went out with the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his Companions were with him. Their baggage became heavy for them. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to me, "Spread out your garment for me." The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to me, "Spread out your cloak." So I spread it out. He placed all their baggage into it. Then he loaded it onto me. And he said, "Carry it, for you are nothing but [Abu] Kathir (the father of much/the carrier of much)." He gave me a title by which I have been known ever since, until it eclipsed my own name, and it became the most beloved of names to me. So I carried the baggage, and even if they had loaded me that day with the load of one camel or two, or five or six, it would not have felt heavy to me. Once, I traveled by sea on a ship, and it broke apart while we were on it. I grabbed a plank from it, and the waves cast me onto the shore. I had barely regained my senses when a lion stood at my head. I said, "O lion, I am the freedman of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him." The lion lowered its head, and nudged me with its shoulder, and walked beside me, guiding me along the path, until it brought me to the army. Then it let out a sound and departed. I knew then that it was bidding me farewell. So, who am I? Write the correct answer in the comments, when the next episode is released, if Allah wills.
