In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammari Surah An-Nahl In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful One day every soul will come to argue for itself And every soul will be repaid for what it has done, and they will not be wronged After that, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful on the Day when every soul comes to dispute on behalf of itself And you can use it as evidence for what you have done in this world, whether good or evil And every soul will be rewarded for what it did in this world, whether obedience or disobedience They are only treated with what they deserve based on the good or evil they have done God gave an example of a village that was safe and secure Her provision comes to her in abundance from every place, and she abounds with God’s blessings, so God makes her taste the affliction of hunger and fear because of what they were doing. God represented the example of Mecca, whose inhabitants were people who polytheized God It was a village that was safe and its people were not jealous A continent with its people whose people do not need refuge Its people make extensive and abundant livelihoods from every aspect of it So the people of this village disbelieved in the blessings that God had bestowed upon them So God made the people of this village feel hungry This is an intense hunger that harms their bodies as much as clothing She felt fear of the troops of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that surrounded them Because of what they were doing out of disbelief in God’s blessings They deny His verses and deny His Messenger A messenger from among themselves came to them, but they rejected him, so the torment seized them while they were wrongdoers The people of this village came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, on their own, recognizing him So they rejected him and did not accept what he brought to them from God So the torment seized them under the guise of hunger and fear, while they were polytheists So eat of what God has provided for you, lawful and good, and give thanks for God’s blessings if you worship Him So, O people, eat of the lawful and good livestock that God has provided for you And thank God for the blessings He has bestowed upon you in making Him lawful to you as much as He has made you lawful And other than that of His blessings, if you worship God and obey Him in what He commands you and prohibits you But whoever is compelled, without desiring or transgressing, then God is Forgiving and Merciful God has forbidden to you, O people, anything except dead meat, blood, and pork Whatever is slaughtered for monuments, someone other than God is named after it Whoever is forced to do that or any of it due to a famine that has struck, he may eat it without wanting to or repeating it God is the One who protects him from taking him into account when necessary, and is merciful to punish him for it They invent a lie against God. Indeed, those who invent a lie against God will not succeed They have little enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment And do not say lies to describe your tongues regarding the foodstuffs that God has provided His servants with This is permissible and this is forbidden so that you can slander God by telling that lie Those who lie to God and fabricate will not live forever in this world nor will they remain in it They will only enjoy it for a little while, then to Us is their return and their return, and for their lies there will be a painful punishment And to those who were Jews We forbade what We related to you before, and We did not wrong them, but they were wronging themselves And before you, O Muhammad, we forbade from the Jews everything that was victorious Of cows and sheep, We have forbidden to them their fat, except that which carries their backs or the insides or is mixed with bones We did not wrong them by prohibiting them from doing so, but they were wronging themselves by disobeying God, so that caused them to be punished by God Then repent after that and make amends. Indeed, after that, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful Your Lord is for those who disobeyed God and were ignorant of their act of disobedience to God, then they returned to obedience to God and regretted it. After what they had committed in the past of sin, your Lord, O Muhammad, after their repentance, is Forgiving and Merciful He was a Hanif, a Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists, thankful for his blessings. He chose him and guided him to a straight path. He did not associate anything with God, and he was sincerely thankful to God for what He had bestowed upon him. He chose him and chosen him for his friendship and guided him to the straight path. And We gave him good in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous And We gave Abraham, for his devotion to God and his gratitude to Him for His blessings, a beautiful remembrance that will last for days And he will be in the Hereafter on the Day of Resurrection for those whose affairs and affairs are right before God Then We inspired you to follow the religion of Abraham, an upright, and he was not of the polytheists Then We revealed to you, O Muhammad, and said to you: Follow the upright and Muslim religion of Abraham, following the religion that Abraham followed. He is innocent of the idols and rivals that your people worship, just as Abraham disavowed them The Sabbath was only made for those who disagreed about it, and your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding what they disagreed about O people, God did not impose the veneration of the Sabbath except on those who disagreed about it, and some of them said It is the greatest of days because God Almighty finished creating things on Friday and then they sat on Saturday Others said, “Rather, the greatest day is Sunday because it is the day on which the creation of things began, so they chose it.” They abandoned the veneration of Friday, which God imposed on them to venerate, and made it permissible And indeed, your Lord, O Muhammad, will judge between these people who differ regarding the permissibility and prohibition of the Sabbath when they arrive at it on the Day of Resurrection He will judge between them in that and in other matters in which they differed with truth and justice Your Lord knows best who has strayed from His path, and He knows best those who are guided And argue with them in a dispute that is better than others if you forgive the harm they have caused to your honor Indeed, your Lord, O Muhammad, is most knowledgeable of those who follow the path with the intention of doing so, and He is most knowledgeable of those of them who follow the path with the intention of pursuing the truth It is a reward for all of them when they come to it And if you, O believers, punish someone who wronged you and attacked you, then punish him with the same punishment with which he inflicted upon you. And if you are patient with his punishment and seek reward from God for the injustice he has inflicted on you, so that He will be responsible for his punishment. Not being patient with His punishment is better for those who are patient, hoping and seeking God’s reward And be patient, and your patience is only with God, and do not grieve for them, and do not be distressed by what they plot And be patient, O Muhammad, with what permission has befallen you in the name of God, and your patience is only with God’s help and success And do not be sad for these polytheists who lie to you And do not let your heart be distressed by what they deceive your heart with And do not deceive your chest with what they deceive in your chest And do not be sad for these polytheists who lie to you And do not be discouraged by the tricks they use to prevent those who want to believe in you from the path of God And believing in what God has revealed to you God is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good God, O Muhammad, is with those who fear God in His prohibitions, so avoid them They feared his punishment for her He is with those who are good at observing his duties and fulfilling his rights It is necessary to obey Him in what He ordered them to do and what He forbade them from doing
