A verse and its Tafsir
Allah the Exalted says:
"And live with them in kindness."
This means it is incumbent upon you to treat your wives with kindness,
such that your companionship and interaction with them is based on goodness,
in a manner that their natures recognize and find agreeable.
Being stingy with financial support,
causing harm through speech or action,
and frequently wearing a scowl or frowning upon meeting them,
all of this contradicts living with them in kindness.
