Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
The Cistern
It is the cistern of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, whose mention is attested by numerous hadiths.
It is a vast cistern, and its description is as follows, according to the hadith:
"Its capacity is as between Aylah and Sana'a in Yemen."
"And in it are pitchers like the number of stars in the sky."
Agreed upon.
And in another hadith narrated by Muslim:
"Two streams from Paradise will pour into it."
"Whoever drinks from it will never thirst."
Its width is equal to its length.
"From Amman to Aylah."
"Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey."
Narrated by Muslim.
The believers who follow the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, will come to the cistern.
As for those who innovate after him, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
they will be prevented from it.
As the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"People from the cistern will come to me,"
"and when I recognize them, they will be pulled away from me."
"I will say, 'My Companions!'"
"It will be said, 'You do not know what innovations they introduced after you.'"
