A Summary of the Concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah Hypocrisy The word 'hypocrisy' is linguistically derived from the burrow of the jerboa. It is a small creature resembling a mouse. It lives in the wilderness. And it makes a burrow with two entrances. An apparent entrance from which it enters and exits. And a hidden entrance covered with a layer of earth. When it becomes impossible for it to exit through the original, apparent entrance. The similarity between the hypocrite and the jerboa is that the hypocrite has two states. A state he displays by declaring Islam. And another he conceals, which is disbelief. A Summary of the Concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
