00:00:00.880 --> 00:00:06.080
Established prophetic Sunnahs:

00:00:06.080 --> 00:00:11.259
Fasting on the day of 'Ashura.

00:00:11.259 --> 00:00:14.939
On the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

00:00:14.939 --> 00:00:18.940
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

00:00:18.940 --> 00:00:21.579
"Fasting the day of 'Ashura,

00:00:21.579 --> 00:00:26.539
I hope from Allah that it will expiate the sins of the year before it."
