0:00 Allah the Exalted said:
0:02 “And of them (also) is he who saith: "Our Lord! Give unto us in the world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and guard us from the doom of Fire."” (2:201)
0:20 “For them there is in store a goodly portion out of that which they have earned. Allah is swift at reckoning.” (2:202)
0:31 On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
0:35 The most frequent supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was:
0:40 "O Allah, grant us good in this world,
0:43 and good in the Hereafter,
0:45 and protect us from the torment of the Fire."
0:48 Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
0:51 "This supplication encompasses every good in this world
0:56 and diverts every evil.
0:58 Indeed, 'good in this world' includes every sought-after worldly matter,
1:03 such as well-being, a spacious home,
1:06 a good spouse, ample provision,
1:09 beneficial knowledge, righteous deeds,
1:12 a comfortable conveyance, and good praise.
1:16 As for 'good in the Hereafter,'
1:18 the highest form of that is entering Paradise,
1:21 along with its associated blessings, such as security from the Greatest Terror,
1:25 ease in the reckoning,
1:27 and other such righteous matters of the Hereafter.
1:31 As for salvation from the Fire,
1:33 it entails the facilitation of its means in this world,
1:37 by avoiding forbidden matters and sins,
1:40 and abandoning doubtful matters and the unlawful."
