0:01 O Allah, we hope for Your mercy. I can almost see her as she approached the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, with a steady step,

0:14 And a heart trembling with awe and fear.

0:18 She cast aside all human standards and scales.

0:24 She forgot the shame and the scandal.

0:28 She did not fear the people or the eyes of the people,

0:31 Nor what the people might say.

0:34 How could she be concerned with all that, when she had turned toward Allah?

0:41 And whoever turns toward Allah, Allah draws him near.

0:46 Allah loves him, grants him success,

0:50 And accepts his repentance.

0:53 It is Allah.

0:56 It is Allah.

1:00 I can almost see her saying:

1:03 "I truly hope for what is with the Lord, and I have

1:09 No request after His forgiveness."

1:12 If I am saved from my sin in this fleeting world,

1:17 How could I be saved and escape in the Hereafter?

1:21 She came seeking death.

1:24 Yes, she sought death.

1:27 For death is easy if it is accompanied by forgiveness and pardon,

1:32 And contentment and pleasure.

1:34 From a Merciful, Generous, Forgiving, and Bountiful Lord.

1:39 Death is easy,

1:41 If after it lies contentment and acceptance.

1:45 Death is easy,

1:47 If it extinguishes the burning pain,

1:51 The sting of disobedience,

1:53 And the reproach of conscience.

1:55 She stood before the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,

2:01 Unconcerned with a fleeting world,

2:05 Or a scandal that vanishes with the vanishing of the sin.

2:10 "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin requiring a prescribed punishment, so purify me."

2:16 "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin requiring a prescribed punishment, so purify me."

2:21 At that moment,

2:23 The Prophet, peace be upon him,

2:28 Turned his face away from her.

2:30 So she approached him from another side and said:

2:34 "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin requiring a prescribed punishment, so purify me."

2:40 "I see, O Messenger of Allah, that you wish to turn me away,

2:44 Just as you turned away Ma'iz ibn Malik."

2:47 "By Allah, I am pregnant from adultery."

2:53 "I am pregnant from adultery."

2:56 At that, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, commanded her:

3:02 "Go until you have given birth."

3:05 I can almost see a question in the eyes of the listeners:

3:12 How did she leave?

3:14 Did she leave with joy filling her heart?

3:17 With relief mingling with her soul?

3:20 That she had been spared from certain death,

3:22 Even though she had done what she was commanded to do,

3:25 And the Messenger of Allah had turned her away?

3:27 No.

3:29 Rather, anxiety did not cease to dwell in her heart,

3:33 And the concerns of fear of Allah loomed over her thoughts.

3:38 A month passed, then another,

3:41 And pains gave birth to pains.

3:44 Then she came with her newborn, carrying him.

3:47 "Here I am, I have given birth, O Messenger of Allah,

3:51 So purify me."

3:53 The Kind and Merciful one said:

3:56 "Go until you have breastfed him and weaned him."

4:00 So she returned with her nursing son.

4:03 If only you could have seen her with her newborn in her arms,

4:07 While the people watched her with wonder and reverence.

4:11 Yet Satan continued to whisper to her and entice her,

4:17 "That is your chance,

4:19 You have done what was required of you,

4:21 And the Prophet turned you away repeatedly,

4:24 So do not return to him."

4:28 Did she respond?

4:31 Did she respond to all of that?

4:35 No.

4:36 Far be it from her to respond.

4:39 Because, simply put, she wanted what was with Allah.

4:43 So she turned toward Allah.

4:46 And whoever turns toward Allah,

4:49 Far be it from Him, the Almighty, to turn him away,

4:53 Or leave him to himself or to Satan.

4:57 "As for My servants, you have no authority over them."

5:02 A year passed, then another,

5:08 And she came with her child,

5:10 Who was holding a piece of bread, eating it.

5:13 She stood before the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,

5:18 And said, "O Messenger of Allah,

5:22 Here I am, I have weaned him, so purify me."

5:26 How amazing she and her state were!

5:29 What faith is this that she carried?

5:33 What repentance is this that she was blessed with?

5:37 What persistence and resolve is this?

5:40 Three years, more or less,

5:43 Were enough to change her state,

5:47 To diminish her faith,

5:49 To diminish her patience and resolve,

5:52 And her turning toward her Lord.

5:55 No, a thousand times no.

5:58 The days followed one another,

6:00 The months succeeded each other,

6:02 And in every moment, she had a story with pain,

6:06 And in the world of sorrows, tales.

6:10 Two full years,

6:14 Every time she offered her breast to her child,

6:17 Or held him to her chest,

6:20 Her attachment to him increased,

6:23 And his attachment to her,

6:25 And her love for him,

6:27 And her love for him,

6:29 And his love for her.

6:31 For she was a mother,

6:33 And mothers have secrets and stories.

6:38 O you who disobey,

6:41 Return.

6:43 O you who sin,

6:46 Repent.

6:48 O you who are negligent,

6:50 Make amends.

6:53 All humiliation is in the pleasure of Allah, the Almighty,

6:56 And all honor is in the displeasure of Allah, even if it seems like humiliation.

7:00 And what is with Allah is better and more lasting.

7:04 If only my people knew.

7:08 If only my people knew.

7:12 The Prophet, peace be upon him, handed

7:15 The boy to a man among the Muslims,

7:18 And she was ordered to be buried up to her chest, then she was stoned.

7:23 At that moment,

7:25 Blood splattered from her head onto one of the Companions,

7:31 Who cursed her within the hearing of the Prophet, peace be upon him.

7:38 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said

7:42 A statement that history has recorded:

7:45 "By Allah, she has repented a repentance,

7:47 By Allah, she has repented a repentance,

7:51 That if the collector of illegal taxes had repented it, it would have been accepted from him."

7:55 And in another narration: "If it were distributed among the people of Medina, it would have sufficed them."

8:01 O Allah!

8:04 History did not record a scandal for that woman,

8:09 Rather, it recorded a story of repentance,

8:13 Told to the ears of all Muslims throughout the ages,

8:20 Of a woman who turned toward Allah,

8:24 And Allah accepted her.

8:26 Do you know why, servants of Allah?

8:30 It is the fear of Allah.

8:34 It is the awe of Allah.

8:37 It is the glorification of Allah.

8:40 It is the glorification of Allah.

8:42 It elevates the souls,

8:45 So they find no rest except in the proximity of the Most Merciful,

8:50 In the Garden of Pleasure.

8:53 It is the awe of Allah

8:55 That did not cease in that believing woman,

8:58 When she fell into the snares of Satan,

9:02 And responded to him in a moment of weakness.

9:05 Yes, she sinned,

9:10 But she rose from her sin

9:13 With a heart filled with faith,

9:15 And a soul stung by the heat of disobedience.

9:20 Yes, she sinned,

9:22 But there arose in her heart

9:24 A station of glorifying the One she disobeyed.

9:27 Questions choked in her chest:

9:32 "How can I disobey my Lord, while He is my Creator,

9:36 And the Bestower of blessings upon me?

9:38 How can I disobey my Lord,

9:40 Who provided for me and granted me

9:42 Everything I hope for and everything I do not hope for?

9:46 How can I disobey Him when He has clothed me,

9:49 Sheltered me, fed me, and given me to drink?"

9:52 So that woman was not satisfied

9:55 Except with purification,

9:57 Even if that purification involved

9:59 The taking of a life,

10:01 A scandal in the eyes of some,

10:05 And the departure of life.

10:07 For what life are we living

10:10 While we disobey Allah?

10:13 What life are we living

10:15 While we disobey Allah?

10:17 I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.

10:22 "And Paradise will be brought near

10:24 To the righteous, not far.

10:27 This is what you were promised

10:29 For every returner and keeper of the covenant,

10:32 “Who feareth the Beneficent in secret and cometh with a contrite heart.” (50:33)

10:35 Who came with a repentant heart.

10:38 Enter it in peace.

10:42 Enter it in peace.

10:46 Enter it in peace.

10:50 That is the Day of Eternity."

10:54 “There they have all that they desire, and there is more with Us.” (50:35)

10:58 “There they have all that they desire, and there is more with Us.” (50:35)

11:02 "And We have more."

11:04 Al-Hasan said:

11:06 "A man commits a sin and does not forget it,

11:10 And he remains fearful of it,

11:13 Until he enters Paradise."

11:15 O Allah, Your pleasure and Paradise.
