0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:04 By those ˹angels˺ lined up in ranks,
0:10 and those who drive away ˹the clouds˺ firmly,
0:13 and those who recite the reminder,
0:16 indeed, your God is surely One—
0:20 “Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings.” (37:5)
0:26 “Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets;” (37:6)
0:35 “With security from every froward devil.” (37:7)
0:41 “They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side,” (37:8)
0:49 driven away,
0:51 and for them is an enduring punishment—
0:55 “Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame.” (37:10)
1:02 “Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay.” (37:11)
1:09 Indeed, We created them from sticky clay.
1:15 Rather, you wonder while they mock,
1:19 “And heed not when they are reminded,” (37:13)
1:23 “And seek to scoff when they behold a portent.” (37:14)
1:28 “And they say: Lo! this is mere magic;” (37:15)
1:33 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, will we truly be resurrected?
1:42 Or our forefathers of old?"
1:47 “Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low.” (37:18)
1:52 “There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold,” (37:19)
2:00 “And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment.” (37:20)
2:05 “This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny.” (37:21)
2:12 ˹It will be said,˺ "Gather those who wronged, along with their spouses and what they used to worship
2:19 besides Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire,
2:25 and stop them, for they are to be questioned."
2:32 “What aileth you that ye help not one another?” (37:25)
2:35 “Nay, but this day they make full submission.” (37:26)
2:39 And they will approach one another, blaming each other.
2:47 “They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth).” (37:28)
2:53 “They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers.” (37:29)
2:58 “We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.” (37:30)
3:04 “We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.” (37:30)
3:10 “Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom).” (37:31)
3:14 "Indeed, we are going to taste it."
3:19 “Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray.” (37:32)
3:25 “Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom.” (37:33)
3:31 “Lo! thus deal We with the guilty.” (37:34)
3:37 “For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful” (37:35)
3:45 and saying, "Are we really to abandon our gods for a mad poet?"
3:53 “Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him).” (37:37)
4:00 Indeed, you will surely taste the painful punishment,
4:06 “Ye are requited naught save what ye did -” (37:39)
4:12 except the chosen servants of Allah.
4:17 “For them there is a known provision,” (37:41)
4:23 fruit, and they will be honored
4:27 in the Gardens of Delight,
4:32 facing each other on thrones,
4:36 “A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them,” (37:45)
4:43 white and delicious to those who drink,
4:49 “Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby.” (37:47)
4:56 and with them will be women of restrained glances, with large, beautiful eyes,
5:02 as if they were delicate, sheltered eggs.
5:08 “And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning.” (37:50)
5:15 “A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade” (37:51)
5:22 “Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)?” (37:52)
5:28 “Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book?” (37:53)
5:36 He will say, "Would you like to look down?"
5:42 So he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.
5:48 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me!
5:53 “And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom).” (37:57)
6:00 Is it really true that we are not going to die,
6:04 “Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished?” (37:59)
6:10 “Lo! this is the supreme triumph.” (37:60)
6:15 “For the like of this, then, let the workers work.” (37:61)
6:20 Is this ˹bliss˺ a better hospitality or the tree of Zaqqum?
6:26 “Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers.” (37:63)
6:33 “Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell.” (37:64)
6:39 “Its crop is as it were the heads of devils” (37:65)
6:44 “And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith.” (37:66)
6:51 “And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water” (37:67)
6:58 “And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell.” (37:68)
7:05 Indeed, they found their forefathers astray,
7:14 “But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps.” (37:70)
7:18 “And verily most of the men of old went astray before them,” (37:71)
7:23 “And verily We sent among them warners.” (37:72)
7:28 So see how the end of those who were warned turned out,
7:34 except the chosen servants of Allah.
7:38 And Noah certainly called upon Us, and how excellent were the responders!
7:45 “And We saved him and his household from the great distress,” (37:76)
7:51 “And made his seed the survivors,” (37:77)
7:56 and We preserved his favorable mention among later generations:
8:00 “Peace be unto Noah among the peoples!” (37:79)
8:06 Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.
8:11 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
8:16 Then We drowned the others.
8:22 “And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham” (37:83)
8:28 “When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart;” (37:84)
8:35 “When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship?” (37:85)
8:40 “Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire?” (37:86)
8:47 “What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds?” (37:87)
8:52 “And he glanced a glance at the stars” (37:88)
8:58 Then he said, "Indeed, I am sick."
9:02 So they turned away from him, departing.
9:06 “Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat?” (37:91)
9:11 “What aileth you that ye speak not?” (37:92)
9:15 “Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand.” (37:93)
9:21 So they came hastening toward him.
9:25 He said, "Do you worship what you carve,
9:30 “When Allah hath created you and what ye make?” (37:96)
9:34 “They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire.” (37:97)
9:41 “And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost.” (37:98)
9:49 “And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me.” (37:99)
9:56 “My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous.” (37:100)
10:00 So We gave him glad tidings of a forbearing boy.
10:05 “And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.” (37:102)
10:09 “And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.” (37:102)
10:19 “And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.” (37:102)
10:25 He said, "O my father, do what you are commanded;
10:29 “And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.” (37:102)
10:37 “Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face,” (37:103)
10:43 “We called unto him: O Abraham!” (37:104)
10:49 "You have indeed fulfilled the vision."
10:52 Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.
10:57 Indeed, this was truly a clear trial.
11:04 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice,
11:09 and We preserved his favorable mention among later generations:
11:13 "Peace be upon Abraham."
11:17 Thus do We reward the doers of good.
11:21 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
11:26 “And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous.” (37:112)
11:32 “And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves.” (37:113)
11:38 “And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves.” (37:113)
11:46 “And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron,” (37:114)
11:51 “And saved them and their people from the great distress,” (37:115)
11:57 and We supported them, so it was they who became victorious.
12:02 And We gave them the clear Book,
12:08 and We guided them to the straight path,
12:13 “And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation):” (37:119)
12:18 “Peace be unto Moses and Aaron!” (37:120)
12:22 Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.
12:28 “Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves.” (37:122)
12:33 “And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn),” (37:123)
12:39 “When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)?” (37:124)
12:44 “Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators,” (37:125)
12:51 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of old?"
12:59 But they denied him, so they will certainly be brought ˹for punishment˺,
13:04 except the chosen servants of Allah.
13:09 And We preserved his favorable mention among later generations:
13:13 "Peace be upon Elias."
13:17 Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.
13:22 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
13:28 And Lot was indeed one of the messengers,
13:33 “When We saved him and his household, every one,” (37:134)
13:38 except an old woman among those who remained behind.
13:43 Then We destroyed the others.
13:48 “And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning” (37:137)
13:54 and at night. Will you not then understand?
13:59 “And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn)” (37:139)
14:04 “When he fled unto the laden ship,” (37:140)
14:09 Then he drew lots and was among the losers.
14:14 “And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy;” (37:142)
14:18 “And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah)” (37:143)
14:23 “He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised;” (37:144)
14:29 “Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick;” (37:145)
14:35 “And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him;” (37:146)
14:41 “And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more” (37:147)
14:47 “And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while.” (37:148)
14:52 So ask them, "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?"
14:58 “Or created We the angels females while they were present?” (37:150)
15:06 “Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say:” (37:151)
15:12 “Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie.” (37:152)
15:18 Has He chosen daughters over sons?
15:22 What is the matter with you? How do you judge?
15:27 Will you not then remember?
15:30 “Or have ye a clear warrant?” (37:156)
15:35 Then bring your scripture, if you are truthful!
15:42 “And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him).” (37:158)
15:47 “And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him).” (37:158)
15:54 Exalted is Allah far above what they describe,
15:58 except the chosen servants of Allah.
16:03 So indeed, you and whatever you worship
16:08 “Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him.” (37:162)
16:12 “Save him who is to burn in hell.” (37:163)
16:16 “There is not one of us but hath his known position.” (37:164)
16:24 "And indeed, we are those who line up in ranks,
16:31 and indeed, we are those who glorify ˹Allah˺."
16:36 And indeed, they used to say,
16:40 “If we had but a reminder from the men of old” (37:168)
16:46 “We would be single-minded slaves of Allah.” (37:169)
16:52 “Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know.” (37:170)
16:58 “And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn)” (37:171)
17:04 that they would surely be the ones aided,
17:10 “And that Our host, they verily would be the victors.” (37:173)
17:15 “So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile,” (37:174)
17:19 And watch them, for they will see.
17:24 Do they then seek to hasten Our punishment?
17:28 “But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned.” (37:177)
17:36 “Withdraw from them awhile” (37:178)
17:40 And watch, for they will see.
17:44 “Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)” (37:180)
17:52 And peace be upon the messengers,
17:57 and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
