that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

complained to Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He,

of the trials and harm he suffered

at the hands of the polytheists.

"O Allah, I complain to You of my weakness,

my lack of resourcefulness,

and my insignificance in the eyes of the people.

O Most Merciful of those who show mercy,

You are the Lord of the oppressed.

To whom will You entrust me?

To an enemy who treats me harshly,

or to a relative whom You have given control over my affairs?

If You are not angry with me,

then I do not care.

Yet, Your protection is more encompassing for me."

Despite this humble supplication and prayer,

relief did not come to him overnight.

Rather, he remained patient and steadfast,

seeking reward from Allah and continuing his mission,

until Allah granted him victory after many years,

and granted him and the Ummah a resounding victory,

the likes of which had not been known in history before,

nor has anything like it been seen since.

O Allah, grant us faith and certainty,

and steadfastness upon the religion,

and hasten for us a clear victory.
