0:00 A hadith and commentary.
0:03 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
0:08 "No one shall enter Paradise who has in his heart a weight of an atom's worth of pride."
0:16 Narrated by Muslim.
0:18 Commentary:
0:20 Once we know that pride is a grave sin and a reprehensible character trait,
0:25 it becomes incumbent upon us to avoid it,
0:27 and to perform righteous deeds that distance us from it,
0:31 such as accepting advice,
0:33 submitting to the truth,
0:35 and showing love for the poor, the weak,
0:38 the needy, servants, and those like them,
0:41 treating them with kindness, caring for them, and being humble toward them.
0:45 For indeed, that is among the things that purify the heart,
0:49 and cleanse the soul of vanity, arrogance, and pride.
