On the authority of 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

"I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:

'There are five prayers that Allah Almighty has prescribed.

Whoever perfects their ablution, performs them at their proper times, and completes their bowing and inner devotion,

has a covenant with Allah that He will forgive him.

But whoever does not do so has no such covenant with Allah:

if He wills, He will forgive him, and if He wills, He will punish him.'"
