On the authority of Salim,
0:13
from his father, Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:
0:17
During the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), whenever a person had a dream,
0:23
he would narrate it to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
0:27
So I wished to see a dream that I could relate to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
0:33
I was a young, unmarried man,
0:36
and I used to sleep in the mosque during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
0:42
Then I saw in a dream as if two angels seized me and took me to the Fire.
0:48
It was built up like a cased well,
0:52
and it had two horns like the horns of a well.
0:55
In it, I also saw people whom I recognized.
0:59
So I began to say, "I seek refuge in Allah from the Fire!
1:03
I seek refuge in Allah from the Fire!"
1:06
Then another angel met them,
1:08
and he said to me, "Do not be afraid."
1:11
I later narrated this dream to Hafsah,
1:14
and Hafsah related it to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
1:19
Thereupon he said:
1:20
"What an excellent man 'Abdullah would be,
1:22
if only he prayed at night."
1:26
Salim said:
1:27
After that, 'Abdullah would sleep only a little at night.
