The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to Gabriel, “What is the matter with her?” He said while she was combing Pharaoh’s daughter, when the hairpin fell from her hand, and she said, “In the Name of God.” And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “My father,” and the comber said to her, “No, but my Lord, and your Lord, and the Lord of your father.” She said, “Is there a Lord other than my father?” She said, “Yes, my Lord, and your Lord, and the Lord of your father is God.” She said, “I tell him, if she said, ‘Tell him.’” So he called her, and he said to her, “O so-and-so, do you have a Lord other than me?” She said, “Yes, my Lord and your Lord, God Almighty, who is in heaven.” Gabriel said, so he commanded. With a copper cow, it was heated. Then he ordered it to meet me and its children in it, and the shepherd said to her, “I have a need for you.” He said, “What is it?” She said, “To gather my bones and the bones of my son in one garment and bury us.” He said, “That is yours upon us because you have the right over us.” So he ordered her children to be thrown into the cow in front of her, one by one, until it ended with a baby boy of hers who was breastfeeding, as if she had neglected for his sake. Then the infant spoke, God willing, the Blessed and Most High, and said to her, “O nation.”

Then I was required to pray fifty prayers every day, and God revealed to me what He revealed. Then Gabriel raised his head and I saw him in his creation that he was created upon at Sidrat al-Muntaha in his image. He had six hundred wings in a fluttering suit that blocked the horizon, shaking from his feathers of twilights and pearls and rubies that God is All-Knowing, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, found his name written in the sky, Muhammad, the Messenger of God.

So I descended and returned, so I passed by Moses, peace be upon him, and Moses detained him and said, “O Muhammad, as you commanded.” I said, “I commanded fifty prayers per day and night.” He said to him, “I treated the Children of Israel before you, and your nation cannot perform fifty prayers per day and night. By God, I have tried the people before you and treated the Children of Israel severely.” So he returned to your Lord, so ask him to ease it for your nation. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, turned to Gabriel as if seeking advice from him about that, so Gabriel indicated to him that yes, if If you wish, Gabriel returned with him to his Lord, Blessed and Most High, and said, O Lord, make it easy for my nation, for my nation cannot. He said, so he reduced five for me, so I returned to Moses, and I said, remove five from me. Moses said, “Your nation cannot, so he returned to your Lord, so ask him to lighten it.” The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, continued between his Lord and Moses until God, Blessed and Most High, commanded him to five prayers. He said, “So I returned and was commanded to do five prayers every day.”

Then I brought an animal without a mule, and on top of the donkey, which is Buraq, a saddle and a bridle for me to ride. He mocked the prophets before me. He found it difficult when he wanted to ride it. Gabriel said to him, “What makes you do this? My father Muhammad. You do this. By God, no one has ever ridden you more honorable to God Almighty than him.” So he refused a race, so I rode him and he walked to the place where I came to Jerusalem. Gabriel said with his finger, so he pierced the stone and pulled Buraq with it, so I tied it to the ring with which he binds the prophets. Then I entered. The mosque, and I placed my feet where the feet of the prophets are placed in the Holy House, and you saw me in a group of prophets, and behold, Musa bin Imran, peace be upon him, was standing and praying, and there was a tall, dark-haired Adam’s man, with a strong build, as if he were one of the men of Shinuah, and behold, Jesus bin Maryam, peace be upon him, was standing and praying, and behold, he was a square-headed red man with a square build to red and white, with a straight head, as if he had emerged from Dimas, that is, from the place of bathing. O God, to You I complain of the weakness of my strength, my lack of resourcefulness, and my humiliation towards people, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy. You are the Lord of the oppressed and you are my Lord. To whom do you entrust me? To a faraway person who frowns upon me, or to an enemy whose power over me is yours. If You are not angry with me, then I do not care, but Your well-being is more expansive for me. I seek refuge in the light of Your countenance, to which the darknesses have shone and the affairs of this world and the hereafter have been made right, from letting Your anger descend upon me or Your displeasure befall me. You are my chastisement until you are satisfied. There is no power nor strength except with You.

Has there ever come a day for you that was more severe for you than the Day of Uhud? He said, may God bless him and grant him peace, “I encountered from your people what I encountered, and the worst I encountered from them was on the Day of Aqaba, when I presented myself to Ibn Abd Yalil, but he did not answer me, so I set off with a worried face on my face, and I did not wake up until I was with the horns of foxes, so I raised my head, and I saw a cloud that had shaded me. I looked, and there was Gabriel in it. He called me and said, ‘God has heard what your people said to you and what they responded to you, and God has sent to you the King of the Mountains.’” You may command him to do whatever you wish regarding them. Then the King of the Mountains called me and greeted me. Then he said, “O Muhammad, if you wish for me to close upon them the two woods, I will do so.” Then the Noble Prophet, the Most Merciful, the Forbearing, who has compassion for his nation, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Rather, I hope that God Almighty and Majestic will bring forth from their loins someone who will worship God Almighty alone, not associating anything with Him.”
