I found Fatima, may God be pleased with her, wearing young clothes and freshening up the house, expecting something from him other than what she saw as the lady of the women of Paradise, may God be pleased with her. She saw in his face the disapproval of her action, so she approached him and said, “What is the matter with you? The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, had ordered his companions, so they were permissible.”

He said, ‘This is an order that God has decreed for the daughters of Adam, so wash yourself, then he has made Hajj permissible for me.’ So I did, and the stops stopped until, when she was purified, she circumambulated the Kaaba, Safa, and Marwah.

I was still menstruating until it was the day of Arafat and I did not perform Ihram except for Umrah. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, ordered me to comb my head and perform Ihram for Hajj and abandon Umrah, so I did that.

Do as the pilgrim does, except that you do not circumambulate the Kaaba until you are pure

We went down to Muzdalifah, and the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, asked permission for Sawda to push before him and before the people’s hutham. She was a slow woman, so he gave her permission, so she pushed before the people’s hutham. We stayed until we were there, then we pushed with him, so if I had asked the Messenger of God’s permission, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, just as Sawda had asked for permission.

I wish I had asked permission from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, just as Sawda asked him for permission, so I would pray the dawn prayer with manna and then stone the Jamarat before the people came.

For me to have asked permission from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, just as Sawda asked permission is more beloved to me than one who is happy with him.

Aisha used to pray only with the Imam
