0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

0:04 The story of Maryam, daughter of ‘Imran.

0:08 Peace be upon her.

0:12 Maryam the Truthful (al-Siddiqah).

0:18 Maryam ascended through the ranks of faith,

0:21 until she reached the rank of the Truthful (al-Siddiqiyyah).

0:25 Allah the Exalted says:

0:27 “The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food. See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away!” (5:75)

0:31 "And messengers have passed on before him,"

0:34 "and his mother was a woman of truth."

0:37 "Both of them used to eat food."

0:41 See how We make the signs clear to them;

0:46 then see how they are deluded.

0:52 Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

0:55 "He made the ultimate goal of Maryam the rank of the Truthful,"

0:58 "just as He made the ultimate goal of the Messiah the rank of Messengership."

1:02 And Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

1:04 Regarding His saying:

1:06 "And his mother was a woman of truth,"

1:08 meaning she was a believer in Him and a confirmer of His truth.

1:11 This is the highest of her stations.

1:14 It indicates that she was not a prophetess.

1:18 The rank of the Truthful is a station surpassed only by the rank of Prophethood,

1:23 as Allah the Exalted says:

1:25 “Whoso obeyeth Allah and the messenger, they are with those unto whom Allah hath shown favour, of the prophets and the saints and the martyrs and the righteous. The best of company are they!” (4:69)

1:29 “Whoso obeyeth Allah and the messenger, they are with those unto whom Allah hath shown favour, of the prophets and the saints and the martyrs and the righteous. The best of company are they!” (4:69)

1:42 "among the prophets, the truthful,"

1:49 "the martyrs, and the righteous."

1:54 "And excellent are those as companions."

1:59 Thus, the rank of the Truthful comes

2:02 immediately after the rank of Prophethood.

2:05 The Truthful rank is the perfection of faith

2:08 in what the Messenger brought,

2:10 through knowledge, confirmation, and implementation.

2:13 It returns to the essence of knowledge itself.

2:16 For everyone who is more knowledgeable

2:18 of what the Messenger brought,

2:20 and more perfect in confirming it,

2:22 is more complete in their Truthfulness.

2:25 The Truthful rank is a tree whose roots are knowledge,

2:29 its branches are confirmation,

2:31 and its fruit is action.

2:34 Al-Sa‘di, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

2:36 "The Truthful rank is beneficial knowledge,"

2:40 "which yields certainty and righteous action."

2:44 Our Lord, glory be to Him and Exalted is He, clarified

2:46 the path that Maryam followed

2:49 until she reached the rank of the Truthful.

2:52 It is the confirmation of the word of Allah without doubt,

2:56 the confirmation of the revealed scriptures,

2:59 and constancy in obedience and worship.

3:03 Allah the Exalted says:

3:05 "And Maryam, the daughter of ‘Imran, who"

3:09 "guarded her chastity,"

3:11 “And Mary, daughter of 'Imran, whose body was chaste, therefor We breathed therein something of Our Spirit. And she put faith in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and was of the obedient.” (66:12)

3:18 "and she confirmed the words of her Lord,"

3:22 "and His scriptures,"

3:26 "and was of the devoutly obedient."

3:27 [Note: Line 58 is the completion of the verse].

3:34 Al-Sa‘di, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

3:36 "This describes her with knowledge and awareness,"

3:40 "for the confirmation of the words of Allah"

3:43 "includes both His religious and preordained words."

3:47 "And the confirmation of His scriptures"

3:49 "requires knowledge of that through which confirmation is attained."

3:53 "This cannot be achieved except through knowledge and action."

3:56 That is why He said:

3:58 "And was of the devoutly obedient,"

4:01 meaning those who are obedient to Allah,

4:03 those who persist in His obedience with fear and humility.

4:08 This describes her with the perfection of action.

4:11 For she, may Allah be pleased with her, was a woman of truth,

4:15 and the Truthful rank is the perfection of knowledge and action.

4:19 The rank of the Truthful is available to everyone, men and women, who follows her path.

4:26 It has become famous in this Ummah

4:29 through the Mother of the Believers, ‘Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her,

4:32 the Truthful woman, daughter of the Truthful man.

4:36 So, every girl and woman who wishes to emulate Maryam, peace be upon her,

4:41 and follow the path she took to attain the rank of the Truthful,

4:46 must adhere to these matters:

4:49 First:

4:50 Knowledge of what the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, brought,

4:55 from what Allah revealed to him in the Qur'an,

4:58 and from the purified Sunnah.

5:00 This necessitates that a woman reads the Qur'an,

5:04 and understands its meanings,

5:06 even if through concise books of Tafsir,

5:09 such as the Tafsir of al-Sa‘di,

5:11 or "The Qur'an: Contemplation and Action,"

5:14 and both are available on the internet.

5:18 It also requires her to read the hadiths of the Prophet, peace be upon him,

5:23 for they are the practical application of the Qur'an,

5:26 and the Prophetic guidance for the Ummah,

5:29 especially

5:30 the hadiths in which the Prophet, peace be upon him, addressed women.

5:36 Among the suggested books:

5:38 "Riyad al-Salihin" by al-Nawawi,

5:41 "Al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib" by al-Mundhiri,

5:45 and the book "Sharh ‘Umdat al-Mar'ah."

5:48 Second:

5:50 Confirmation and certainty in what the Prophet, peace be upon him, brought.

5:56 This is a matter of the heart,

5:58 which a woman knows within herself.

6:00 Its sign is that when she hears a legal text from the Book of Allah,

6:05 or the Sunnah of His Messenger,

6:07 that contradicts her desires,

6:09 she does not object to it with her intellect or her opinion,

6:13 nor does she search for opinions that align with her desires,

6:17 but rather she submits completely without objection.

6:21 Third:

6:22 Acting in accordance with this knowledge,

6:25 for this is the fruit.

6:27 This is what changes the life of a girl and a woman,

6:31 and moves her from darkness into light,

6:34 and from misery to a happiness that only those who have tasted it know.

6:40 Fourth:

6:41 Constancy in obedience and worship.

6:45 This constancy is the sign of steadfastness,

6:48 especially in the youth of a girl.

6:52 Fifth:

6:53 Commitment to truthfulness in speech, actions, and states.

6:58 Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

7:01 "The one who brings truthfulness"

7:03 "is the one whose nature is truthfulness in his speech, actions, and state."

7:07 Truthfulness in these three:

7:10 Truthfulness in speech:

7:12 The tongue is aligned with the statements,

7:15 like the alignment of an ear of corn on its stalk.

7:18 Truthfulness in actions:

7:20 The alignment of deeds with the command and the following [of the Prophet],

7:24 like the alignment of the head on the body.

7:27 Truthfulness in states:

7:29 The alignment of the actions of the heart and limbs with sincerity,

7:33 and the exertion of effort and expenditure of energy.

7:37 Through this, the servant becomes one of those who brought truthfulness.

7:41 According to the perfection of these matters in a person, their Truthful rank is determined.

7:48 That is why Abu Bakr al-Siddiq held the pinnacle of the Truthful rank, until he was called "al-Siddiq" (the Truthful) absolutely.

7:57 "Al-Siddiq" is more emphatic than "al-Saduq," and "al-Saduq" is more emphatic than "al-Sadiq."

8:03 The highest rank of truthfulness is the rank of the Truthful, which is the perfection of submission to the Messenger alongside the perfection of sincerity to the Sender.

8:14 A woman must beware of the corruption of her faith by listening to those in whose hearts is a disease,

8:21 those who stir up doubts and invite to desires. Allah the Exalted says:

8:28 “He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed.” (3:7)

9:34 “Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower.” (3:8)

9:49 My advice to every girl and woman seeking the highest degrees with Allah is to be careful about whom she listens to or reads from.

10:01 For the means of communication today have become filled with people of desires and doubts who address women with honeyed words to spread their doubts and drag her into their desires.

10:15 Allah the Exalted says:

10:17 “Allah would explain to you and guide you by the examples of those who were before you, and would turn to you in mercy. Allah is Knower, Wise.” (4:26)

10:32 “And Allah would turn to you in mercy; but those who follow vain desires would have you go tremendously astray.” (4:27)

10:44 “Allah would make the burden light for you, for man was created weak.” (4:28)

10:53 The most dangerous inclination a woman might have because of them is to disbelieve or doubt the texts of the Shari‘ah,

11:01 especially the Prophetic hadiths related to women, around which doubts are often raised.

11:09 This inclination affects the heart, depriving it of the sweetness of faith and obedience.

11:16 So how can a girl or woman reach the rank of the Truthful after that?

11:22 We will continue in a future meeting, if Allah wills. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
