That Suhayb used to be called Abu Yahya,

Why are you called Abu Yahya,

When you have no child?

And you claim to be of Arab descent,

Which is a waste of wealth."

Suhayb replied:

"The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

Gave me the kunya Abu Yahya.

As for your remark regarding my lineage,

I am a man from the tribe of An-Namir ibn Qasit,

From the people of Mosul,

But I was taken captive as a young boy,

Though I still remember my family and my people.

As for your remark regarding the food,

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
