On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"A single dirham has surpassed a hundred thousand."

A man asked,

"And how could that be, O Messenger of Allah?"

He replied:

"A man possessed great wealth,

and from its vastness he took a hundred thousand

and gave it in charity.

Meanwhile, another man had nothing but two dirhams;

he took one of them and gave it in charity."
