0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:05 It is Paradise.
0:09 The eternal abode of the people of Paradise.
0:23 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
0:25 And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad.
0:28 And upon all his family and companions.
0:31 To proceed:
0:33 O people of Paradise,
0:35 You are now the guests of the Most Merciful.
0:37 And the right of a guest is to be honored.
0:40 Behold, the angels are here to welcome us with congratulations.
0:43 Then, they present to us the gift of the guest.
0:46 It is the extra portion of the whale’s liver.
0:49 It is a small piece,
0:52 Attached to the top of the liver,
0:55 And it is the most delicious part of the whale.
0:58 It is the first food we shall taste in Paradise.
1:01 This whale is from Paradise itself.
1:04 The extra portion of its liver suffices all the people of Paradise.
1:08 Once we have tasted this meal,
1:12 And our stomachs are refreshed by this wholesome food,
1:15 Then the ox is slaughtered for us,
1:18 Which grazes on the outskirts of Paradise.
1:21 It is then presented to us in the finest manner,
1:24 Of hospitality and generosity.
1:27 We eat from it and drink alongside it,
1:30 From the water of Salsabil.
1:33 And we hear a beautiful call that delights our souls:
1:36 "Eat and drink in satisfaction."
1:39 “(And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days.” (69:24)
1:42 Yes, O people of Paradise,
1:45 Eat of every delicious food,
1:48 And drink of every delightful beverage,
1:51 A complete and perfect satisfaction,
1:54 Without any impurity or distress.
1:57 This is your reward,
2:00 For what you sent forth in the fleeting days of the world,
2:03 Of righteous deeds:
2:06 Prayer, fasting, and charity,
2:09 Hajj and Umrah,
2:12 And kindness toward creation.
2:15 For Allah made deeds a cause for entering Paradise,
2:18 The substance of its bliss,
2:21 And the foundation of its happiness.
2:25 O people of Paradise,
2:28 You do not drink because of thirst,
2:32 For there is no thirst after it ever again.
2:35 Likewise, you do not eat because of hunger,
2:38 Rather, these are successive pleasures,
2:41 And continuous desires,
2:44 Without sin or reproach.
2:47 Did Allah the Almighty not say:
2:50 "Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein,
2:53 Nor to be unclothed,
2:56 And that you will not be thirsty therein, nor hot from the sun"?
2:59 One of us might see a bird in Paradise,
3:02 And desire it without being hungry,
3:05 So the bird comes to him roasted,
3:08 In the most delicious state,
3:11 On a platter of gold.
3:14 And the birds of Paradise, O brothers of faith,
3:17 Are like the Bactrian camels,
3:20 Long-necked creatures,
3:23 Grazing among the trees of Paradise.
3:26 Blessed is he who eats from them.
3:30 In Paradise, there are also lote trees (Sidr),
3:33 Which you surely recognize.
3:36 In this world, they are full of thorns,
3:39 But in Paradise, as Allah the Almighty said of them:
3:42 "Among lote trees with thorns removed,"
3:45 Its thorns have been removed and cleared away,
3:48 And in the place of every thorn,
3:51 There is a fruit from the fruits of Paradise.
3:54 The fruit is larger than great jars.
3:57 We also have in Paradise the layered banana trees (Talh),
4:00 Which are the bananas,
4:03 Stacked one upon another,
4:06 In an orderly fashion,
4:09 From top to bottom,
4:12 So that you can barely see the trunk of the tree.
4:16 We also have therein every kind of fruit,
4:19 Which may resemble in shape and color,
4:22 Those of the world, yet differ in taste and flavor.
4:25 As Allah the Almighty informed us:
4:28 "Whenever they are provided with a provision,
4:31 Of the fruit thereof,"
4:34 “And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.” (2:25)
4:37 Meaning in the world,
4:40 Allah says: "They will say, 'This is what we were provided with before,'
4:43 And they will be given things in likeness."
4:45 Resembling one another in appearance and color,
4:48 But differing in taste.
4:51 We have in Paradise the Ajwa date,
4:54 For the Ajwa is from the dates of Paradise.
4:57 But when this date descended,
5:00 From Paradise to the world,
5:03 Its color and taste changed,
5:06 Just as the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner changed,
5:09 When they descended from Paradise,
5:12 Allah dimmed their light, and they were altered.
5:16 O my companions,
5:19 We have whatever fruit we desire,
5:22 It is never cut off from us,
5:25 At any time whatsoever,
5:28 As it is cut off in the world,
5:31 Like summer fruit in winter,
5:34 Or winter fruit in summer.
5:37 Nor is it forbidden,
5:40 As the fruits of the world are forbidden,
5:43 To many who desire them,
5:47 Due to their high price.
5:50 But in Paradise, if one of us desires it,
5:53 It falls into his mouth,
5:56 Or draws near to him until he takes it with his hand.
5:59 We eat of its fruits while standing,
6:02 Sitting, or reclining,
6:05 In whatever state we wish.
6:08 Did Allah the Almighty not say:
6:11 "Its fruit will be low and easy to reach"?
6:14 It descends to the believing servant,
6:17 So he may pick from it whatever he wishes.
6:21 We also have in Paradise date palms, grapes, and pomegranates,
6:24 And although they are among the fruits of Paradise,
6:27 Allah the Almighty singled them out,
6:30 By mentioning them to praise and honor them.
6:33 We have of every fruit two kinds,
6:36 Meaning two varieties,
6:39 Each variety having a delight and color,
6:42 That the other does not possess.
6:45 A single cluster of them,
6:48 Is enough food for all the people of the world.
6:51 And know, my brothers, also,
6:54 Just as the people of Paradise do not hunger,
6:57 They also do not become full.
7:00 Its food and shade are perpetual.
7:03 So be at ease; you will not be satiated therein,
7:06 For satiety is harmful and heavy.
7:10 No matter how much you eat,
7:13 There will always be room to eat more.
7:16 Because if you were to become full,
7:19 The pleasure of food would cease for you,
7:22 Even for a while.
7:25 And there is no cessation of pleasures in Paradise.
7:28 What you eat will exit by way of,
7:31 Perspiration and sweat that smells like musk,
7:34 And room will remain in the stomach,
7:37 So that you may enjoy more,
7:40 Without interruption or fullness,
7:43 Or illness or pain.
7:47 Our drink in Paradise is of the best,
7:50 Of drinks and the most delicious.
7:53 From a sealed nectar,
7:56 Nothing enters it to diminish its pleasure,
7:59 Or spoil its taste.
8:02 Its seal is musk, meaning its end,
8:05 Usually, what is poured is musk.
8:08 We pass the cups among ourselves,
8:11 And the goblets of wine circulate among us,
8:14 Wine not like the wine of the world,
8:17 Nor does it resemble it in any way.
8:20 Its color is white, one of the most beautiful colors,
8:24 And its taste is a delight for the drinkers.
8:28 It has no effect on the mind,
8:31 There is no idle talk in it,
8:34 It does not remove the intellect,
8:36 Nor is there any sin upon the one who drinks it.
8:39 These cups are filled and successive,
8:42 As Allah the Almighty recounted regarding them,
8:45 In His Noble Book, saying:
8:48 "And full cups."
8:51 One of us, the people of Paradise, desires a drink,
8:54 From the drink of Paradise,
8:57 So the pitcher comes to him until it falls into his hand,
9:00 He drinks from it,
9:02 Then the pitcher returns to its place.
9:06 And at other times,
9:09 Immortal youths circulate among them,
9:12 With cups, pitchers, and goblets,
9:15 Containing the drink of Paradise,
9:18 That they desire.
9:20 And truthful is Allah who says:
9:23 “Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur,” (76:5)
9:27 "Whose mixture is of camphor."
9:30 Where the servants of Allah drink,
9:33 They make it flow in streams.
9:36 And you shall be adorned, O people of Paradise,
9:39 Therein with various ornaments.
9:42 Sometimes with bracelets of silver,
9:45 Sometimes with bracelets of gold,
9:48 Sometimes with bracelets of pearls,
9:51 And sometimes with gold studded with pearls.
9:54 Sometimes the ornaments are gathered for them,
9:57 Sometimes the ornaments are gathered for them,
10:00 So they wear bracelets of gold,
10:03 And bracelets of silver,
10:06 And bracelets of pearls all at once.
10:09 These ornaments,
10:12 Have an intense light,
10:15 So if a man from the people of Paradise were to appear,
10:18 And his bracelets were revealed,
10:21 They would dim the light of the sun.
10:26 Your adornment shall reach
10:29 to the extent that your wudu reached.
10:32 Whoever performs wudu perfectly,
10:35 his adornment in Paradise shall be more profound.
10:38 Upon your heads shall be crowns
10:41 from the crowns of Paradise.
10:44 And in the crown, there is a jewel,
10:47 a single ruby of which is better than the world
10:50 and all that is within it.
10:54 And while we are in this state of bliss,
10:57 some people from among us shall arise,
11:00 and they shall clothe their parents in two garments
11:03 of the most magnificent attire,
11:06 for which the entire world cannot compensate them.
11:09 They will ask, "For what have we been clothed
11:12 in these garments?"
11:15 It will be said to them, "Because your child took
11:19 to the Qur'an."
11:23 Marvel then at the napkins of the people of Paradise,
11:26 which they use and then cast aside,
11:29 without a second thought.
11:32 These napkins in Paradise
11:35 are better than the finest silk of this world.
11:38 Among the items of adornment in Paradise
11:41 are combs and incense burners.
11:44 We shall have combs of gold and silver
11:47 to comb our hair,
11:50 even though it shall neither become disheveled nor dirty.
11:53 We shall perfume ourselves with fragrant oud,
11:57 even though the scent of musk
12:00 shall emanate from our very bodies.
12:03 Our censers, in which the embers are placed,
12:06 shall be for incense made of aloe wood,
12:09 which is Indian oud.
12:12 All of this is of the same nature as the blessings
12:15 that we used to see in this world.
12:19 O you who yearn,
12:22 this is your Paradise from within.
12:25 It has no equal.
12:28 It is the abode of absolute bliss,
12:31 in which there is no restriction upon anyone.
12:34 “Therein are brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that souls desire and eyes find sweet. And ye are immortal therein.” (43:71)
12:37 It is a delight to the eyes,
12:40 and it is an everlasting eternity,
12:43 and a permanence in its beauty.
12:46 Work for the abode of permanence;
12:50 Ridwan is its guardian,
12:53 the Neighbor is Ahmad, and the Most Merciful is its Builder.
12:56 Its earth is gold,
12:59 its soil is musk,
13:02 and saffron is the grass growing within it.
13:05 Whoever wishes to purchase a home in Firdaws
13:08 must build it
13:11 with a rak'ah in the darkness of the night, performed in secret,
13:14 and by satisfying the hunger of a poor person
13:17 on a day of severe famine,
13:20 when prices have soared.
13:24 The soul covets this world, yet it knows
13:27 that safety from it
13:30 lies in abandoning what it contains.
13:33 We amass our wealth for our heirs,
13:36 and we build our houses for the decay of time.
13:39 There is no house for a person to inhabit after death
13:42 except the one he built before his death.
13:45 So whoever built it with good,
13:48 his dwelling shall be pleasant,
13:51 and whoever built it with evil,
13:54 its builder shall be disappointed.
13:57 So plant the roots of piety
14:00 while you are still able,
14:03 and know that you shall encounter them after death.
14:06 You shall harvest the fruits tomorrow,
14:10 where there is no fatigue, nor shall any distress reach it.
14:13 What great honors these are,
14:16 once they are attained,
14:19 and what great souls
14:22 shall encompass them.
14:26 O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and its blessings,
14:29 and we ask You for the highest Firdaws,
14:32 without reckoning and without punishment.
14:35 O Allah, answer our prayer.
14:38 The journey has a continuation,
14:42 for it is Paradise.
