0:08 The enemies of Eve.

0:12 Allah the Almighty says:

0:14 “And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers.” (2:35)

0:22 "And eat from it freely wherever you wish."

0:26 "But do not approach this tree."

0:34 "Lest you be among the wrongdoers."

0:37 But Satan caused them to slip from it.

0:40 “But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time.” (2:36)

0:45 And We said: "Descend, as enemies to one another."

0:49 "And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and provision for a time."

0:56 This story indicates that the first enemy of Eve

1:01 Is Satan.

1:03 And that his goal is to expel her from Paradise.

1:07 And that the cause of this enmity is envy.

1:10 And that no one corrupts the life of Eve like Satan and his allies among the devils of mankind.

1:18 And that what he strives to demolish is her family.

1:21 So he sows discord between her and her husband.

1:25 Therefore,

1:26 It is necessary to raise the daughters of Eve to be hostile toward Satan.

1:30 And to be wary of his evil.

1:32 And to know the goal he strives to achieve.

1:36 Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

1:39 The enmity mentioned by Allah the Almighty

1:42 Is strictly between Adam, Iblis, and their descendants.

1:47 As Allah the Almighty says:

1:49 “Lo! the devil is an enemy for you, so treat him as an enemy. He only summoneth his faction to be owners of the flaming Fire.” (35:6)

1:55 He, glory be to Him, has emphasized the matter of enmity between Satan and man.

2:01 And He has repeated and elaborated upon it in the Qur'an.

2:04 Due to the urgent need to be on guard against this enemy.

2:08 As for Adam and his wife,

2:11 He only informed us in His Book

2:14 That He created her so that he might find tranquility in her.

2:17 And He placed between them affection and mercy.

2:20 Thus, there is affection and mercy between a man and his wife.

2:24 And enmity between man and Satan.

2:28 This, which Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, clarified,

2:31 Is the truth.

2:33 There is no enmity between man and woman.

2:37 As the enemies of Eve strive to make her daughters believe.

2:42 For Allah created Eve for Adam so that he might find tranquility in her,

2:46 Not so that he would fight her and she would fight him.

2:49 And He made the relationship between them based on affection and mercy.

2:55 Al-Sa'di, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

2:58 It is known that an enemy strives and exerts effort to harm his enemy.

3:03 And to bring evil upon him by every means.

3:07 And to deprive him of good by every means.

3:10 Within this is a warning to the children of Adam against Satan.

3:14 As Allah the Almighty says:

3:17 “Lo! the devil is an enemy for you, so treat him as an enemy. He only summoneth his faction to be owners of the flaming Fire.” (35:6)

3:22 "So take him as an enemy."

3:25 “Lo! the devil is an enemy for you, so treat him as an enemy. He only summoneth his faction to be owners of the flaming Fire.” (35:6)

3:33 And Allah the Almighty says:

3:36 “And (remember) when We said unto the angels: Fall prostrate before Adam, and they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He was of the jinn, so he rebelled against his Lord's command. Will ye choose him and his seed for your protecting friends instead of Me, when they are an enemy unto you? Calamitous is the exchange for evil-doers.” (18:50)

3:50 The enemies of Eve employ every method to corrupt her life.

3:56 And to bring evil upon her.

3:58 They cloak this in the guise of progress and civilization.

4:02 And stolen rights, and the man's enmity toward her.

4:06 And the oppression of society, among other methods.

4:11 Al-Tahir Ibn 'Ashur, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

4:14 The verse serves to stir regret in the souls of the children of Adam.

4:18 Regarding what befell Adam as a result of his failure to comply with the command of Allah the Almighty.

4:25 And it is an admonition that alerts one to the necessity of adhering to commands and prohibitions.

4:29 And it encourages striving for what will return them to this Paradise that belonged to their father.

4:36 And it fosters enmity between them and Satan and his soldiers.

4:41 Since he was the cause of bringing this calamity upon their father.

4:45 So that they may forever seek vengeance for their father.

4:49 Being hostile toward Satan and his whispers.

4:52 As indicated by the saying of Allah the Almighty:

4:55 “O Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the Garden and tore off from them their robe (of innocence) that he might manifest their shame to them. Lo! he seeth you, he and his tribe, from whence ye see him not. Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not.” (7:27)

5:02 And His saying here:

5:04 "Enemies to one another."

5:07 This is a great principle in the education of the masses.

5:10 For this reason, the leaders of nations remind them of the past enmities of their rivals.

5:17 And those who defeated them in wars, so that this may be a motive for seeking vengeance.

5:23 'Umar al-Ashqar, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

5:26 All that Iblis did was to falsify the truth.

5:31 And he clothed truth in the garment of falsehood, and falsehood in the garment of truth.

5:36 Satan did not come to say to man:

5:39 "Eat from the forbidden tree,"

5:42 "So that Allah may be angry with you and cast you out."

5:46 Rather, he said to him that your happiness, well-being, and good lie in eating from the tree.

5:52 He said to him: "If you eat from the tree,"

5:56 "You will attain great dominion and eternal life."

6:00 "And you will transform into an immortal angel."

6:05 And as an increase in misguidance and an insistence on deceiving Adam,

6:09 He swore to him and his wife that he was truthful in what he said.

6:14 And that he was a sincere advisor to them, offering them good.

6:18 And guiding them to the true path.

6:22 The people of misguidance and their leaders follow the guidance of Iblis in leading the servants of Allah astray.

6:29 They portray truth in the image of falsehood.

6:33 And they tell them that they have a right to something.

6:37 They portray truth in the image of falsehood.

6:40 And falsehood in the image of truth.

6:43 In doing so, they philosophize falsehood.

6:46 And they attempt to provide evidence for it that deceives those who have no knowledge.

6:51 Making them believe that their words are indisputable facts.

6:55 Among these is what the proponents of progress do.

7:00 When they demand that a woman rebel against the religion of her Lord.

7:04 And depart from its teachings in the name of liberation and modernity.

7:09 For instance, they say to the woman:

7:12 "What is this clothing that shackles your freedom?"

7:16 "And hides your beauty and your charms?"

7:19 "And deprives you of enjoying life?"

7:22 And they say to her:

7:24 "Why are you a paralyzed member of society?"

7:28 "You do not help in the prosperity of society."

7:31 "And you do not perform the work of men."

7:34 "You are not of lesser status than a man."

7:37 "And a man is not more intelligent than you."

7:40 And they say:

7:42 "Why do you not mingle with men?"

7:45 "Are you not confident in yourself?"

7:48 And they say:

7:49 "The cure for the sexual repression that men and women suffer from,"

7:54 "There is no way to get rid of it,"

7:57 "Except through what the devils of the West have decreed,"

8:00 "Such as Freud,"

8:02 "By mixing the sexes,"

8:04 "And the gathering of the two groups."

8:08 We will continue in a future meeting, if Allah wills.

8:11 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
