0:10 Why do they envy you?

0:14 O Eve.

0:16 Everyone today speaks of your rights.

0:19 They demand the removal of injustice from you.

0:22 They champion your causes.

0:24 Everyone displays concern for you.

0:27 Yet not one of them declares themselves your enemy.

0:32 But they do not agree on a single path.

0:36 Rather, their paths are contradictory and discordant.

0:40 So, who is truly concerned for you?

0:43 And who is truly your enemy?

0:46 From here comes the importance of the story of Eve in the Holy Qur'an.

0:51 Along with the identification of her primary enemy.

0:54 And those among his soldiers who follow his path.

0:57 And the method he employs to achieve his great goal.

1:02 Which is to expel you from Paradise.

1:05 And to have you accompany him in the Fire.

1:08 So how can you recognize your enemy?

1:11 First.

1:12 Everyone claims to be an advisor to you.

1:15 A defender of your rights.

1:18 So who among them is truthful?

1:21 Contemplate the story of Iblis.

1:23 When he was expelled from Paradise.

1:25 And our father Adam and our mother Eve were made to dwell therein.

1:30 What did he do?

1:32 Allah the Almighty says:

1:34 "Get out of this, disgraced and expelled."

1:38 "Whoever among them follows you, I will surely fill Hell with you all."

1:46 "And O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat..."

1:53 "...from wherever you will, but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

2:02 Then Satan whispered to them to reveal to them that which was hidden from them of their shame.

2:10 “Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and he said: Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals.” (7:20)

2:19 “Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and he said: Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals.” (7:20)

2:27 “And he swore unto them (saying): Lo! I am a sincere adviser unto you.” (7:21)

2:35 He swore by Allah.

2:37 That he was a sincere advisor to our father Adam and our mother Eve.

2:41 And the result?

2:43 He caused them to be expelled from Paradise.

2:45 Because he envied them for the blessing Allah had bestowed upon them.

2:51 Second.

2:52 You must realize, O Eve, that your enemy bears enmity toward you.

2:57 Because you possess a great blessing that he does not, so he envies you for it.

3:05 Ibn Jarir al-Tabari, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

3:08 Allah said to Adam:

3:11 "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will."

3:17 So He, the Exalted in praise, caused Adam and his wife to dwell in Paradise.

3:22 After He had cast Iblis down from it and expelled him.

3:26 And He permitted them to eat of its fruits from wherever they wished.

3:33 And He forbade them from approaching the fruit of that specific tree.

3:37 And Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

3:40 Allah mentions that He permitted Adam, peace be upon him, and his wife Eve to dwell in Paradise.

3:47 To eat from all its fruits except for one tree.

3:53 The discussion regarding this has already preceded in Surah al-Baqarah.

3:57 It was then that Satan envied them.

4:01 And he strove in plotting, whispering, and deception.

4:04 To strip them of the blessing and the fine clothing they were in.

4:10 Third: What is the blessing that the Muslim woman possesses today?

4:16 That her enemy would envy her for it?

4:20 They envy you, O Eve.

4:22 Because you have ranks in Islam that they do not know.

4:26 And do not find among themselves.

4:29 And cannot achieve in their reality.

4:33 For they know the woman as one severed from all connections.

4:37 Toyed with by those who toy with her.

4:39 Then discarded when they are finished, to go search for another.

4:45 They envy you, O Eve.

4:47 Because in Islam, you are a mother, honored and cherished.

4:51 You have been granted three times the right of kindness over the father.

4:56 And children are obligated to care for you and protect you if they desire Paradise.

5:01 And your care has been prioritized over Jihad in the cause of Allah.

5:05 For it is narrated from Mu'awiyah Ibn Jahimah:

5:08 That Jahimah came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and said:

5:14 "O Messenger of Allah, I intended to go on a military expedition and I have come to seek your counsel."

5:20 He said: "Do you have a mother?"

5:23 He said: "Yes." He said:

5:26 "Stay with her, for Paradise is at her feet."

5:31 Narrated by Ahmad.

5:33 Yet they do not know the mother and her merit.

5:36 And they do not mention her except for one day a year, if they mention her at all.

5:41 As for her care.

5:43 It is left to artificial care homes.

5:46 They envy you, O Eve.

5:49 Because if you are a maternal aunt.

5:51 You have the rights of a mother.

5:53 As the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

5:57 "The maternal aunt is in the position of the mother."

6:00 Narrated by al-Bukhari.

6:02 So your sister's children owe you the same rights they owe their mother.

6:07 And your affection for them is like the affection of their mother.

6:11 So those who do not know the mother.

6:13 Will they know the maternal aunt?

6:16 They envy you, O Eve.

6:18 Because in Islam, you are a protected daughter.

6:21 Caring for you is a shield from the Fire.

6:24 And a cause for entering Paradise.

6:26 And companionship with the Prophet, peace be upon him.

6:31 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:

6:34 "No man has two daughters reach maturity..."

6:38 "...and he treats them well as long as they are with him or he is with them..."

6:42 "...but they will cause him to enter Paradise."

6:45 Narrated by Ibn Majah.

6:47 And he, peace be upon him, said:

6:50 "Whoever is responsible for any of these girls and treats them well..."

6:55 "...they will be a shield for him from the Fire."

6:58 Narrated by al-Bukhari.

7:00 And he, peace be upon him, said:

7:03 "Whoever supports two girls until they reach maturity..."

7:07 "...will come on the Day of Resurrection, I and he..."

7:10 And he joined his fingers.

7:12 Narrated by Muslim.

7:14 As for them.

7:16 They do not know how to raise daughters.

7:19 And they pay them no heed.

7:21 Once they reach eighteen years of age.

7:25 They envy you, O Eve.

7:27 Because in Islam, you are a wife with full marital rights.

7:33 Allah the Almighty says:

7:35 “Women who are divorced shall wait, keeping themselves apart, three (monthly) courses. And it is not lawful for them that they should conceal that which Allah hath created in their wombs if they are believers in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands would do better to take them back in that case if they desire a reconciliation. And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness, and men are a degree above them. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (2:228)

7:39 And it is your right that the man provides for you in all your circumstances.

7:44 The dowry at the time of marriage.

7:46 And maintenance after marriage.

7:49 Even the water you drink.

7:51 He provides it for you in obedience to Allah.

7:55 They envy you, O Eve.

7:57 Because Islam has protected your honor.

8:00 And imposed a punishment on whoever slanders it.

8:04 Allah the Almighty said:

8:06 "And those who accuse chaste women..."

8:09 “And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterward) accept their testimony - They indeed are evil-doers -” (24:4)

8:15 “And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterward) accept their testimony - They indeed are evil-doers -” (24:4)

8:21 "...then lash them with eighty lashes."

8:25 "...then lash them with eighty lashes."

8:28 “And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterward) accept their testimony - They indeed are evil-doers -” (24:4)

8:33 "...and those are the defiantly disobedient."

8:39 And the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, counted:

8:43 Among the seven destructive sins.

8:46 Slandering the honor of chaste women.

8:49 He said:

8:50 "...and slandering chaste, believing, unwary women."

8:54 Narrated by al-Bukhari.

8:57 They envy you, O Eve.

8:59 Because Allah has honored you with a great religion.

9:03 That preserved your dignity from the tampering of those who tamper.

9:07 And protected you in a manner befitting the nature with which Allah created you.

9:12 So have you realized why they envy you?

9:16 And know, O Eve.

9:18 That bestowing blessings and honor.

9:20 Is only for those who obey Allah.

9:23 As for those who disobey Him.

9:25 Their example is like that of Iblis.

9:28 He was commanded and he disobeyed.

9:29 So he deserved expulsion from the bliss.

9:33 Al-Tahir Ibn 'Ashur, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

9:36 In directing the address to Adam with this virtue.

9:40 In the presence of Iblis after his expulsion.

9:43 There is an increase in humiliation.

9:45 Because giving blessings to one who is pleased with.

9:48 While punishing one who deserves punishment.

9:52 Is an increase in heartbreak for the one being punished.

9:55 And a demonstration of the disparity between the one deserving of blessing.

9:59 And the one deserving of punishment.

10:01 The speech would not convey the same meanings.

10:03 As it does through the conjunction used in the narrated statement.

10:07 And because if that were intended.

10:09 The verb of saying would have been repeated.

10:12 Furthermore, if Adam was created in Paradise.

10:15 And was established therein beforehand.

10:18 Then the command in His saying:

10:20 "Dwell."

10:21 Is merely a command of confirmation.

10:24 Meaning:

10:24 Remain in Paradise.

10:26 And if Adam was created outside of Paradise.

10:30 Then the command is for permission as an honor to him.

10:33 Regardless of which it is.

10:35 In this command, within the hearing of Iblis.

10:39 Is a suppression of Iblis.

10:41 Because if Iblis was established in Paradise beforehand.

10:45 Then the suppression is evident.

10:47 Since Allah expelled him.

10:49 And caused the one he was too arrogant to prostrate to.

10:53 To dwell in the honorable place that was his before his arrogance.

10:58 And if Iblis was not dwelling in Paradise before.

11:02 Then honoring the one he despised and felt superior to is a suppression of him.

11:07 The placement of this speech in this Surah has indicated.

11:11 A great meaning of the suppression of Iblis.

11:14 In addition to what is in the verse of Surah al-Baqarah.

11:18 Even if they are identical in wording.

11:22 But this subtle meaning.

11:24 Was derived from the context.

11:27 And this is among the wonders of the inimitability of the Qur'an.

11:31 And the reason for choosing this verse with this particularity is found.

11:36 In that this speech is directed to the polytheists.

11:39 Who took Satan as an ally instead of Allah.

11:44 As for what is in Surah al-Baqarah.

11:46 It is an admonition to the Children of Israel.

11:50 And they are among those who should beware of Satan and not follow his footsteps.

11:55 We will continue in a future meeting, if Allah wills.

11:59 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
