Will you prioritize the command of Allah and the command of His Messenger,

or will you prioritize your love for your husband and your desire to please him?

This problem, O Hawwa,

has several causes,

among them your thinking that obeying Allah will cause you to lose your husband

and end your married life,

or that it will increase the problems within it,

so you prioritize pleasing your husband over pleasing Allah.

Mu'awiyah wrote to 'A'ishah, the Mother of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with her:

and do not make it too long."

So 'A'ishah wrote to Mu'awiyah:

So do not be deceived by your husband’s pleasure with you for a period of time,

for Allah grants respite but does not neglect.
