0:08 "Do not eat from this tree."

0:12 Allah the Almighty says:

0:14 “And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers.” (2:35)

0:22 "And eat from it in abundance wherever you wish."

0:26 "But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

0:37 “But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time.” (2:36)

0:45 We said, "Descend, being enemies to one another."

0:49 "And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and provision for a time."

0:57 I wish you success in all that the woman has been forbidden from.

1:02 It is merely a testing ground for the extent of her servitude to Allah.

1:07 Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

1:10 Regarding His saying, "Do not approach this tree,"

1:14 It is a test and a trial from Allah the Almighty.

1:19 For everything that Allah has forbidden the woman from,

1:22 Is merely a test for her.

1:24 It demonstrates the extent of her obedience to Allah and her compliance with His commands.

1:30 Satan is keen to divert her from this test,

1:34 By arguing about the wisdom behind the prohibition and searching for its reasons.

1:40 Do not approach what is forbidden.

1:43 When Allah forbade Adam and his wife from eating from the tree,

1:48 He forbade them from even approaching it.

1:51 He said:

1:52 "Do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

1:58 This is because approaching what is prohibited tempts one to fall into it.

2:02 Al-Tahir Ibn 'Ashur, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

2:05 His saying:

2:07 "Do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers,"

2:12 Means: "Do not eat from the tree."

2:15 Because approaching it is done with the intention of eating from it.

2:20 Thus, the prohibition against approaching it is more emphatic than the prohibition against eating it.

2:24 Because being near a thing creates an urge and an inclination toward it.

2:29 There is a hadith regarding this:

2:31 "Whoever grazes around a sanctuary is likely to fall into it."

2:36 When a woman remembers that human souls are weak in the face of desires,

2:41 Except for those whom Allah has shown mercy,

2:43 It becomes imperative for her to protect herself from falling into the forbidden,

2:49 By staying away from all the paths that lead to it.

2:53 Al-Tahir Ibn 'Ashur, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

2:57 In linking the prohibition to approaching the tree,

3:00 There is an indication of the principle of "blocking the means" (sadd al-dhara'i').

3:04 This is one of the foundational principles of the school of Malik, may Allah have mercy on him.

3:08 It has detailed explanations established in the principles of fiqh.

3:14 How does Satan tempt you?

3:17 Satan diverts the woman's gaze from the vastness of the lawful,

3:21 And focuses it on the narrowness of the forbidden.

3:24 Allah the Almighty says:

3:26 "We said, 'O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise.'"

3:31 "And eat from it in abundance wherever you wish."

3:35 Al-Qanuji, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

3:37 The expansion of the command for them,

3:40 Is a removal of any excuse or pretext for eating from the forbidden tree,

3:45 Given the countless other trees available to them.

3:50 Do not ruin your life with disobedience.

3:54 The disobedience of our father Adam, peace be upon him, and our mother Hawwa,

3:59 Cost them their stay in Paradise.

4:02 Likewise, sins,

4:04 Ruin our lives.

4:06 So do not ruin your life with disobedience.

4:10 Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

4:12 The point here is,

4:14 That some sins are a cause for the loss of beneficial knowledge, or part of it.

4:20 Indeed, they can be a cause for forgetting what one has learned,

4:23 And confusing truth with falsehood.

4:26 Trials and tribulations occur because of that.

4:29 Allah, glory be to Him, had settled Adam and his wife in Paradise,

4:33 And said to them:

4:35 "And eat from it in abundance wherever you wish."

4:39 "But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

4:44 But Satan caused them to slip from it,

4:46 And brought them out of that which they were in.

4:50 We said, "Descend, being enemies to one another."

4:54 So every enmity that existed among their descendants,

4:57 And every affliction and hardship that will exist until the Day of Judgment,

5:01 And in the Fire on the Day of Resurrection,

5:04 Its cause is sin and disobedience to the Lord, the Almighty.

5:08 For if a person remains steadfast in obedience to Allah, inwardly and outwardly,

5:14 He is in the bliss of faith,

5:16 And knowledge comes to him from all directions,

5:19 And he is in the paradise of this world.

5:22 Supporting the statement of Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him,

5:27 Is the hadith of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him,

5:29 That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

5:34 "No two people who love each other for the sake of Allah the Almighty,

5:37 Or for the sake of Islam,

5:39 Are separated,

5:41 Except by a sin committed by one of them."

5:45 Narrated by Al-Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad.

5:48 Al-Manawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

5:51 The separation is a punishment for that sin.

5:55 That is why Musa al-Kazim said:

5:58 "If your companion changes toward you,

6:00 Know that it is because of a sin you have committed."

6:04 So repent to Allah for every sin,

6:06 And his affection for you will be restored.

6:09 And Al-Muzani said:

6:11 "If you find coldness from your brothers,

6:14 Repent to Allah,

6:16 For you have committed a sin."

6:18 "And if you find an increase in their affection,

6:21 That is because of an act of obedience you have performed."

6:24 So thank Allah the Almighty.

6:27 This, just as it affects the relationship between friends,

6:32 Also affects the relationship with family members,

6:36 And it affects, even more clearly, your relationship with your husband.

6:40 So be on your guard.

6:43 We will continue in a future meeting, if Allah wills.

6:47 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
