If there was good in this idol, he would protect himself from harm
I was a merchant before my covenant with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. When I converted to Islam, I wanted to combine trade and worship, but what I wanted was not right for me, so I left trade and turned to worship. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu Darda, I would love to have a shop today at the door of the mosque so that I would not miss a prayer with the group, then I would buy and sell and earn three hundred dinars every day.

I only investigated what I did about the goodness of the matter of the darda, and he said, “How?” He said, “What do you think of the darda, if there are slaves in front of her serving her, and she finds herself in palaces whose splendor dazzles the eye? Where will her religion be on that day?”

Ibn Malik, this is what God Almighty gave me, and if you had overlooked this place, you would have seen what your eyes did not see, heard what your ear could not hear, and found what had never occurred to your heart. So Ibn Malik said, “And to whom is all of that, O Abu Muhammad?” He said, “God Almighty prepared it for Abu Darda’ because he used to protect himself from the world with his palms and his chest.”

God has mercy on us, so He sent us a messenger who will guide us to goodness, command us to do it, teach us evil, and forbid us from it. He promised us that if we respond to what he called us to, God will give us the good of this world and the hereafter. It is only a little, until God replaces our distress and our humiliation with honor and our enmities with brotherhood and mercy. He has commanded us to call people to what is good for them and to begin with those who are our neighbors. We invite you to enter into our religion, which is a religion of goodness in all of it and the ugliness of all that is bad. He warned against it as it transports its adherents from the darkness of disbelief and its injustice to the light of faith and its justice. If you accept us to Islam, we will leave behind you the Book of God and appoint you to rule by its rulings, and we will turn away from you and leave you alone. If you refuse to enter into the religion of God, we will take the jizyah from you and protect you. If you refuse to pay the jizyah, we will fight you.
