O King, we were a people of pre-Islamic times. We worshiped idols, we ate dead animals, we committed immoral acts, we cut ties of kinship, we treated bad neighbors, and the strong among us ate the weak. We remained in that state until God sent to us a messenger from among us whose lineage, truthfulness, honesty, and chastity we knew. He called us to God alone and worshiped Him and removed the stones and idols that we and our fathers used to worship other than Him. He commanded us to speak truthfully, fulfill trusts, maintain family ties, be good neighbors, abstain from incest, and stop bloodshed, and He forbade us. About immoral acts, false speech, consuming the property of an orphan, and slandering chaste women. We were commanded to worship God alone and not to associate anything with Him, and to establish prayer, pay zakat, and fast during Ramadan. So we believed him and believed in him and followed him in what he brought from God. So we made lawful what he made lawful and forbade what he made unlawful to us. And none of our people, O King, except that they rebelled against us, so they tortured us with severe torment to tempt us from our religion and return us to the worship of idols. So when they wronged us, They oppressed us, put pressure on us, and prevented us from going to your country from our religion. We chose you over anyone else, we desired your side, and we hoped that we would not be burdened by you.

O people, Islam is an impregnable fortress and a close door. The fortress of Islam is justice and its door is truth. If the fortress is destroyed and the door is destroyed, the protection of this religion is made permissible. And Islam remains invincible as long as the authority is strong. The severity of the authority is not beating with the market or killing with the sword, but ruling with justice and taking what is right.
