In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:03
The echo of the pulpits
0:06
Be a key to all that is good.
0:11
A sermon by his eminence, the Sheikh.
0:13
Khalid Ibn 'Abdullah al-Humud
0:16
May Allah preserve him.
0:17
Praise be to Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, Perfection, and Beauty.
0:24
All praise is due to Allah, the Great, the Exalted.
0:27
All praise is due to Allah, who is to be praised in every circumstance.
0:33
Praise be to Allah, who governs His creation in all circumstances.
0:40
We praise Him in times of ease and in times of hardship.
0:43
And in times of hardship and ease.
0:46
And we ask Him for patience in the face of bitter decrees.
0:51
And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, having no partner.
0:58
“All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah; unto Him belongeth Sovereignty and unto Him belongeth praise, and He is Able to do all things.” (64:1)
1:03
Reliever of distress.
1:05
The Remover of distress.
1:07
He who answers the call of those in distress.
1:11
I knocked at the door of hope while the people were fast asleep.
1:15
And I began to complain to my Master about what I was experiencing.
1:20
And I said, "O my hope in every calamity."
1:24
O You upon whom I rely to remove all hardship.
1:28
I complain to You of matters that You already know.
1:32
I have neither the patience nor the endurance to bear it.
1:36
And I have extended my hand in humility, in a state of desperate need.
1:40
O best of those to whom hands are extended in supplication.
1:44
Do not let it return disappointed, O Lord.
1:49
So, let your return be such that everyone who returns to you finds guidance.
1:53
And I bear witness that our master, our prophet, and our beloved, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is the servant of Allah and His messenger.
2:00
His chosen one and His intimate friend.
2:03
The possessor of the most radiant countenance.
2:05
And the radiant forehead.
2:08
The Beloved of Allah
2:09
And His intimate friend and His chosen one.
2:12
And there is no joy that Allah has bestowed upon creation
2:17
With nothing more beautiful or merciful than the spirit of the Beloved.
2:21
The Prophet, from whose countenance the light radiates.
2:25
Blessed is the one who invokes peace and blessings upon him.
2:29
So increase in beauty by invoking blessings upon the one
2:33
His blessings increase when they are invoked upon him.
2:38
Never remain silent in the presence of his beauty.
2:42
Indeed, sending blessings upon the Prophet is the very beauty of his character.
2:45
O Allah, send peace, blessings, and increase upon him.
2:49
upon Your servant, Your messenger, Your prophet, and Your beloved, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
2:53
And upon his pure and immaculate household.
2:57
And upon his noble and blessed Companions.
3:00
And may He grant him abundant peace until the Day of Judgment.
3:04
To proceed, O servants of Allah:
3:06
I advise you and myself to be mindful of Allah.
3:10
O you who have believed
3:12
“O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him)” (3:102)
3:14
“O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him)” (3:102)
3:18
Beloved brothers and sisters for the sake of Allah,
3:21
Indeed, there is a great reward in doing good and performing righteous deeds.
3:24
Treasures and storehouses.
3:27
And it has keys.
3:30
Indeed, evil and the commission of sins have consequences.
3:33
And reprehensible deeds are sources of disgrace.
3:35
And it has keys.
3:38
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
3:41
Indeed, among people are those who serve as keys to goodness.
3:44
keys to evil
3:46
And indeed, among people are those who are keys to evil.
3:50
Keys to goodness.
3:52
Blessed, then, is the one whom Allah has made
3:55
The keys to goodness are placed in his hands.
3:58
Woe to those who treat Allah
4:01
The keys to evil are in his hands.
4:04
It was recorded by Ibn Majah and classified as hasan by al-Albani.
4:08
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him:
4:11
That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
4:14
He stopped by a group of people who were sitting.
4:18
He then said, "Shall I not inform you of who among you is the best and who is the worst?"
4:22
He said, "Then they remained silent."
4:24
He said that three times.
4:26
A man then said, "Rather, O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."
4:30
He informed us of the best among us and the worst among us.
4:33
He said, "The best of you..."
4:35
One whose goodness is hoped for and whose evil is kept at bay.
4:39
And the worst of you.
4:40
He from whom no good is expected.
4:43
And his evil is not to be felt secure against.
4:45
It was recorded by al-Tirmidhi, and al-Albani classified it as authentic.
4:48
Honorable brothers and sisters,
4:50
I derive benefit from these two hadiths.
4:53
There are some people who
4:55
Who is like a source of well-being for others?
4:58
A key to goodness.
5:00
And an ambassador of guidance
5:02
And a messenger of reform.
5:04
and a lock against evil.
5:06
And he repels affliction.
5:08
And he who prevents the descent of divine retribution.
5:09
And it is a safety valve against the wrath of the Most Merciful.
5:13
When he is present, he provides benefit and excels in his conduct.
5:16
And when he spoke, he brought benefit and provided guidance.
5:19
And if he directs himself with sincerity and truthfulness.
5:22
He is like the life-giving rain.
5:24
Wherever it falls, it brings benefit.
5:26
He is blessed wherever he may be.
5:28
And among the people are those who
5:30
Who is like the ailment and the disease?
5:33
When he would sit with his companions.
5:35
He occupied them with that which harms them.
5:38
And it does not benefit them.
5:39
He deprives them and diverts them away from goodness.
5:42
And he guides them toward the gates of evil and wrongdoing.
5:45
He enlisted himself to fulfill the desires of Satan.
5:49
in spreading vice and corruption.
5:52
Thus, he became, by virtue of that,
5:54
A key to evil.
5:56
He is a barrier to all good, and we seek refuge in Allah from that.
6:00
Honorable brothers and sisters,
6:02
Has any one of us ever asked himself one day
6:05
Am I among those who unlock the doors to goodness?
6:08
Or am I among the keys to evil, and I seek refuge in Allah from that.
6:12
How many things do we witness, O servants of Allah?
6:14
Among the gateways to goodness
6:16
Which awaits someone to open it.
6:19
How many doors of evil do we see?
6:22
Which awaits someone to close it.
6:25
Let us therefore hasten, noble brothers and sisters.
6:28
And let us hasten to open the doors of goodness.
6:31
And closing the doors of evil.
6:33
Let us call to mind the words of the noble Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
6:36
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
6:38
Whoever calls others to guidance
6:40
He would have a reward equivalent to that.
6:43
like the rewards of those who followed him.
6:45
That does not diminish their rewards in the slightest.
6:48
And whoever calls others toward his misguidance
6:50
He would bear the burden of that sin.
6:53
...like the sins of those who followed him.
6:55
That does not diminish their sins in the slightest.
6:59
It was recorded by Muslim.
7:00
Among the honorable instances is
7:03
One of the many instances of goodness.
7:06
They were raised upon goodness.
7:08
And they spoke only that which is good.
7:10
And they judged with goodness.
7:12
That is what has been narrated on the authority of Ali Ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him.
7:17
May Allah be pleased with him.
7:18
He noticed that a piece of his armor was missing.
7:21
She was dear to him.
7:23
Then, it was not long before he found it in the hand of a Jewish man.
7:28
He sells it in the market of Kufa.
7:30
When he saw her, he recognized her.
7:33
And he said, "This is my armor."
7:35
I fell from my camel.
7:37
On such and such a night
7:39
And in such-and-such a place
7:41
Then the dhimmi woman said:
7:43
Rather, it is my shield.
7:44
And in my hand, O Commander of the Faithful.
7:46
And let the judge of the Muslims be the arbiter between you and me.
7:49
Ali said, "You have spoken justly."
7:52
So come towards it.
7:54
When he appeared before the judge,
7:56
In the session of the judiciary.
7:58
The judge said to ‘Ali:
8:01
May Allah be pleased with him.
8:02
I have no doubt about it.
8:04
In that you are truthful in what you say.
8:07
O Commander of the Faithful.
8:08
However,
8:10
You must have two witnesses.
8:12
'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
8:14
Yes.
8:15
Mawla Qanbar
8:17
And Al-Hasan was born.
8:18
They both bear witness on my behalf.
8:20
The judge then said
8:21
However, the testimony of a son on behalf of his father
8:24
It is not permissible.
8:26
Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
8:28
Glory be to Allah.
8:30
A man from the people of Paradise.
8:32
His testimony is not admissible.
8:34
Or have you not heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?
8:37
peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, says
8:39
Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn
8:41
The two masters of the youth of Paradise.
8:44
It was recorded by al-Tirmidhi.
8:46
The judge then said
8:47
Yes, O Commander of the Faithful.
8:49
However, I
8:50
I do not permit the testimony of a child on behalf of their parent.
8:54
At that moment
8:55
‘Ali turned toward the dhimmi woman.
8:58
He said, "Take it."
8:59
I have no witness other than those two.
9:02
Then the dhimmi woman said:
9:04
Yet, I bear witness.
9:05
That the armor is indeed your armor, O Commander of the Faithful.
9:09
He then added, saying:
9:11
How truly astonishing!
9:12
The Commander of the Faithful
9:14
He summons me to appear before his judge.
9:16
And his judge shall pass judgment in my favor against him.
9:19
I bear witness
9:20
Verily, the religion that commands this is the truth.
9:23
I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.
9:26
And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
9:29
Thus it is, O servants of Allah.
9:30
This is how they were.
9:32
And this is how we ought to be.
9:34
Be a key, O servant of Allah.
9:37
Be a key to goodness, O servant of Allah.
9:39
Speaking only of what is good.
9:41
Eager for every form of goodness.
9:43
Glad tidings, then, and more glad tidings.
9:45
To whoever is like that.
9:47
And strives to remain so.
9:50
O Allah, make us keys to goodness.
9:52
And locks against evil.
9:54
Conclude our lives with goodness.
9:56
And make the outcomes of our affairs lead to good.
9:59
Make our dwelling place pleasant.
10:01
And grant us a beautiful end.
10:03
O Allah, answer our prayers.
10:04
May Allah bless me and you through the Great Qur'an.
10:07
And may He benefit me and you with the verses and wise reminders it contains.
10:11
I say what you hear.
10:12
And I seek the forgiveness of Allah for myself and for you.
10:14
So seek His forgiveness.
10:15
For He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
10:17
Praise be to Allah.
10:21
And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.
10:25
And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
10:29
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
10:31
To proceed, O servants of Allah:
10:35
The world was occupied days ago.
10:38
By the painful incident.
10:41
Of the Moroccan child, Rayan.
10:44
The events of the rescue.
10:46
And the event of death.
10:48
And the passing of Rayan.
10:51
And the grief of his departure.
10:53
Everyone grieved.
10:55
It was not just the grief of the Moroccans.
10:57
It was as if the delay.
10:59
Came for a divine wisdom.
11:01
To console a mother.
11:03
Or to grant patience to a father.
11:05
So that millions might pray.
11:07
For him.
11:09
In a mosque.
11:11
Or a home, or a procession.
11:13
We ask Allah to make him an intercessor for his parents.
11:16
And to bind their hearts with patience.
11:19
And the heart of everyone who has lost a loved one.
11:23
Despite the pain in this incident.
11:26
It was a gift to the Ummah.
11:30
Containing a number of lessons and admonitions.
11:33
The brotherly bond between Muslims was clearly manifested.
11:37
They were, by the grace of Allah, as one heart.
11:41
Not divided by.
11:43
Nationalities.
11:45
Or borders.
11:47
Or languages.
11:48
Rather, they sympathized with the child and his parents.
11:51
And their tongues were moist with prayers for him and his parents.
11:55
And with prayers for the rescuers to be granted success and guidance.
11:58
And the words of the Truthful and Trusted one (the Prophet) were proven true regarding them.
12:01
"The likeness of the believers in their mutual love."
12:04
"And their mercy and compassion."
12:07
"Is like the body."
12:08
"If one part of it suffers."
12:10
"The rest of the body joins it."
12:13
"In sleeplessness and fever."
12:15
Narrated by Muslim.
12:16
The meaning is that Muslims.
12:19
Feel each other's pain.
12:22
And their calamities.
12:24
So they hasten to provide aid and assistance.
12:28
Like the single body.
12:30
If one limb is diseased.
12:32
The rest of the body suffers with it.
12:35
This is a reminder to the Muslims.
12:37
To be as such.
12:39
In all their affairs.
12:41
And whoever contemplates, O servants of Allah.
12:44
The state of his Muslim brothers.
12:46
Will find grave events.
12:49
From the displacement of peoples.
12:51
To the killing of children.
12:53
And women and the elderly.
12:55
And the violation of honor.
12:57
And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
12:59
So let us be for all believers.
13:02
As we were for Rayan.
13:04
May Allah accept him.
13:06
Rayan sent.
13:07
A message to all the children of the Muslims.
13:10
That everyone loves them.
13:13
And feels their pain.
13:15
And that they are dearer to us than anything else.
13:18
But the difference is that we.
13:21
May have known.
13:23
Of Rayan's tragedy.
13:24
And did not know.
13:26
Of the tragedy of others.
13:28
And how many they are.
13:29
And that the media.
13:31
Published his story.
13:33
And did not publish the story of others.
13:36
Also, and how many they are.
13:38
And to Allah belongs the ultimate wisdom.
13:40
And Allah is the Helper.
13:43
And He is the One whose help is sought.
13:45
Among the lessons and admonitions in this incident.
13:48
When you look at the gathering of people.
13:51
And the teams and machinery.
13:53
And all the security agencies.
13:55
And emergency services.
13:57
To attempt to rescue the child.
13:59
Then their inability to do so.
14:02
You remember the saying of the Prophet.
14:05
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
14:07
"And know that if the Ummah were to gather."
14:10
"To benefit you with something."
14:12
"They would not benefit you except with something."
14:14
"That Allah has already written for you."
14:16
"And if they were to gather to harm you with something."
14:19
"They would not harm you except with something."
14:21
"That Allah has already written against you."
14:23
"The pens have been lifted."
14:25
"And the scrolls have dried."
14:27
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by al-Albani.
14:29
Indeed.
14:31
They wanted to rescue him and save him.
14:33
But the Angel of Death.
14:35
Preceded them and took his soul.
14:37
And how beautiful are the words of Abu al-Hasan al-Tihami.
14:40
When he lost his son, he said:
14:43
"I lived near my enemies, while he lived near his Lord."
14:46
"How different is His neighborhood from mine."
14:49
O noble ones.
14:51
And among the great acts of goodness.
14:53
Is striving to remove everything that causes harm.
14:57
To the Muslims.
14:58
In their religion and their worldly lives.
15:00
And in the noble hadith.
15:02
"There shall be no harm nor reciprocating harm."
15:04
Narrated by Ibn Majah and authenticated by al-Albani.
15:07
And this, O servant of Allah.
15:09
Applies to every harm, whether small.
15:11
Or large.
15:13
Direct or indirect.
15:15
And among the great harms.
15:17
Is the existence of open wells or pits.
15:20
So it is obligatory to cooperate in filling them.
15:22
And covering them.
15:24
And reporting them.
15:26
And likewise.
15:27
Removing everything that harms the Muslims.
15:30
In their religion or their worldly lives.
15:32
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
15:35
"I saw a man."
15:37
"Moving about in Paradise."
15:39
"Because of a tree he cut down."
15:41
"From the middle of the road."
15:43
"That was harming the people."
15:45
Narrated by Muslim.
15:46
We ask Allah, the Majestic, the Exalted.
15:48
We ask Allah by His most beloved names to Him.
15:51
To grant us all success in doing good deeds.
15:54
And calling others to them.
15:56
And to grant us success in abandoning evil deeds.
15:58
And in forbidding them.
16:00
And to conclude our lives with goodness.
16:02
And to rectify the state of the Muslims.
16:04
And to make the outcomes of their affairs lead to good.
16:08
O Allah, O Hearer of prayers.
16:10
O Possessor of vast bounty.
16:12
“And thou (Muhammad) art not occupied with any business and thou recitest not a Lecture from this (Scripture), and ye (mankind) perform no act, but We are Witness of you when ye are engaged therein. And not an atom's weight in the earth or in the sky escapeth your Lord, nor what is less than that or greater than that, but it is (written) in a clear Book.” (10:61)
16:15
O Allah, grant us a covering.
16:17
That conceals what we have committed.
16:19
And knowledge that removes what we were ignorant of.
16:22
And provision that exceeds what we hoped for.
16:25
O Allah, preserve Your blessings for us.
16:27
And ward off calamities from us.
16:29
And grant us the lawfulness of life.
16:31
And the best of gifts.
16:33
And abundance in provision.
16:34
And peace of mind.
16:35
And the garment of well-being.
16:37
And a good ending.
16:39
O Allah, make our days.
16:41
All of them goodness and blessing.
16:43
And happiness and contentment.
16:45
O Allah, forgive our sins.
16:47
And conceal our faults.
16:48
And accept our repentance.
16:50
And conclude our deeds with righteousness.
16:52
O Allah, grant us security in our homelands.
16:54
And rectify our leaders.
16:56
And those in authority over us.
16:57
And grant victory to our soldiers on the borders.
16:59
O Allah, grant victory to our soldiers on the borders.
17:02
All of them as supporters and helpers.
17:04
As helpers and defenders.
17:06
O Allah, grant victory to our oppressed brothers everywhere.
17:09
O Allah, grant us a good conclusion to our lives.
17:11
Take our souls while You are pleased with us.
17:13
O Allah, rectify our intentions and our offspring.
17:16
Adorn us with Your beautiful veil of protection.
17:18
And beneath that veil, place righteous deeds that You find pleasing.
17:21
Our Lord, we have called upon You as You commanded us.
17:24
So answer us as You have promised us.
17:26
Do not deprive us of the best of what You possess.
17:28
Because of the worst of what we possess.
17:30
And do not withhold Your bounty from us on account of our sins.
17:32
For we truly love You.
17:34
O Allah, this is the supplication, and from You comes the answer.
17:36
This is the effort, and upon You is the reliance.
17:38
“Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)” (37:180)
17:41
Peace be upon the messengers.
17:43
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
