0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:04 The echoes of the pulpit.
0:06 O You who, when I call out "My Master," You answer me.
0:10 And say, "Come forward, for forgiveness is My nature."
0:13 Indeed, Allah is with us.
0:15 You who draw the swords of death.
0:17 Seeking the most noble heart ever created.
0:20 The purest soul ever found.
0:22 And the most sanctified spirit ever fashioned.
0:24 What is the recourse?
0:26 The recourse is.
0:27 To elevate the matter.
0:28 And the sparks of the tragedy.
0:29 And the record of the catastrophe.
0:30 To the heavens.
0:32 To the One who is established upon the Throne.
0:34 That He may decree therein whatever He wills.
0:36 And despite this.
0:37 He sent the bearer of the Message.
0:38 The one with the noble heart.
0:39 He sent to his companion, Abu Bakr.
0:41 A message.
0:42 Gentle.
0:43 Serene.
0:44 Smiling.
0:45 Full of compassion.
0:46 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
0:50 Servants of Allah.
0:51 The greatest word in sermons.
0:53 And the most noble phrase on earth.
0:55 With this truthful word.
0:57 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)

Allah is with us. 1:05 A sermon by the honorable Sheikh.
1:07 Khalid Ibn 'Abdullah al-Humud.
1:09 May Allah preserve him.
1:11 O community of believers.
1:13 Allah, the Exalted in His majesty, says.
1:17 "Do not grieve."
1:19 "Indeed, Allah is with us."
1:21 And he, peace be upon him, says.
1:24 To his companion.
1:26 "O Abu Bakr."
1:28 "What is your thought regarding two."
1:31 "When Allah is the third of them?"
1:34 Indeed, this verse.
1:36 And this hadith.
1:38 Have a context, O servants of Allah.
1:41 The Prophet, peace be upon him, remained.
1:45 With Abu Bakr in the cave of Thawr.
1:48 For three days.
1:49 And during that time.
1:51 Some of those greedy for the reward had arrived.
1:55 Prepared for whoever captured them.
1:59 When the disbelievers of Quraysh.
2:02 Were tracking them and lying in wait for them.
2:05 They had prepared a reward amounting to.
2:09 One hundred camels.
2:11 For whoever brought news of them.
2:14 Or their heads.
2:16 Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, realized the danger.
2:19 The danger looming over them.
2:22 And let us, O servants of Allah.
2:24 Let us allow Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him.
2:28 To complete that story for us.
2:31 For hearing is not like seeing.
2:34 For Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, said.
2:38 I said to the Prophet, peace be upon him.
2:41 While I was in the cave.
2:43 "O Messenger of Allah."
2:45 "If one of them."
2:47 "Were to look beneath his feet, he would see us."
2:50 So he said, may my father and mother be sacrificed for him, peace be upon him.
2:54 "What is your thought, O Abu Bakr."
2:57 "Regarding two."
2:59 "When Allah is the third of them?"
3:01 Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
3:04 And concerning this, the word of Allah was revealed.
3:06 "If you do not aid him."
3:08 "Allah has already aided him."
3:10 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
3:15 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
3:17 When he said to his companion.
3:19 "Do not grieve."
3:21 "Indeed, Allah is with us."
3:23 "Indeed, Allah is with us."
3:25 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
3:28 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
3:31 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
3:34 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
3:37 And Allah is Exalted in Might, All-Wise.
3:40 And the meaning of His saying, "Indeed, Allah is with us."
3:43 That is, our Helper.
3:45 Our Supporter.
3:47 Our Aid.
3:49 And our Protector.
3:51 This is what the scholars call.
3:54 The special companionship (ma'iyyah).
3:57 Which necessitates victory and support.
4:00 And protection and assistance.
4:02 And this victory and companionship.
4:04 For the servant.
4:06 Is according to his closeness to Allah.
4:09 For whoever is for Allah.
4:11 More in piety and worship.
4:14 The companionship of Allah is closer to him.
4:17 Thus, the special companionship of Allah reached.
4:21 Ibrahim, the Friend of Allah, peace be upon him.
4:25 When he was cast into the fire.
4:27 And it reached Muhammad, peace be upon him.
4:31 When he was hiding in the cave.
4:33 And it reached Yunus, peace be upon him.
4:36 When he was in three darknesses.
4:39 The darkness of the night.
4:41 The darkness of the belly of the whale.
4:43 And the darkness of the sea.
4:45 And this companionship.
4:46 Is the verification of His saying.
4:49 "Indeed, We will support Our messengers."
4:52 “Lo! We verily do help Our messengers, and those who believe, in the life of the world and on the day when the witnesses arise,” (40:51)
4:55 And the Day the witnesses will stand.
4:57 And just as Allah supported His Prophet, peace be upon him.
5:02 And supported and aided him.
5:05 So too does He support, aid, and assist.
5:09 Every follower of the Trustworthy Prophet.
5:12 Peace be upon him.
5:14 Indeed, Allah, the Glorified.
5:16 Is with the patient.
5:18 And with the doers of good.
5:20 And with the truthful.
5:22 And with the righteous.
5:24 And with every believer in Allah.
5:26 Sincere to Him in his worship.
5:29 Following His Messenger, peace be upon him.
5:32 He, the Glorified, said.
5:34 “Lo! Allah is with those who keep their duty unto Him and those who are doers of good.” (16:128)
5:37 "And those who are doers of good."
5:39 And He, the Glorified, said.
5:41 "And know that Allah is with the righteous."
5:45 When the believer is strong in his faith.
5:49 Confident in the promise of Allah.
5:52 And His victory and support.
5:54 He senses that the companionship of Allah is with him.
5:58 For here is the Prophet of Allah, Musa, peace be upon him.
6:01 With his people.
6:02 The sea became before them.
6:05 And Pharaoh and his soldiers behind them.
6:07 So the people of Musa said to Musa.
6:10 "O Musa."
6:11 "We are surely overtaken."
6:13 So he replied to them, peace be upon him.
6:16 Sensing that companionship.
6:18 He said, "No."
6:20 “He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me.” (26:62)
6:22 And when Allah commanded Musa and Harun.
6:25 Peace be upon them.
6:27 To go to Pharaoh to invite him.
6:30 He reassured them, saying.
6:32 "Do not fear."
6:34 "Indeed, I am with you both."
6:36 "I hear and I see."
6:38 Glory be to Allah.
6:40 Qatadah, may Allah have mercy on him, says.
6:42 Whoever fears Allah.
6:44 Allah is with him.
6:46 And whoever has Allah with him.
6:48 Then he has the faction.
6:50 That cannot be defeated.
6:52 And the Guardian who does not sleep.
6:54 And the Guide who does not err.
6:56 And some of the salaf wrote.
6:58 Wrote to a brother of his.
7:00 He said to him.
7:01 "To proceed."
7:02 "If Allah is with you."
7:04 "Then whom do you fear?"
7:06 "And if He is against you."
7:08 "Then whom do you hope for?"
7:10 "So hold fast to the rope of Allah."
7:12 Seeking refuge.
7:14 For it is the pillar if your.
7:16 Pillars fail you.
7:18 So, O servant of Allah, do not grieve.
7:20 "Indeed, Allah is with us."
7:22 The Muslim needs it at every moment.
7:24 So if your worry intensifies.
7:26 And your grief multiplies.
7:28 And your sadness doubles.
7:30 Then say to your heart.
7:32 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
7:34 If debt overwhelms you.
7:36 And poverty exhausts you.
7:38 And the world saddens you.
7:40 Then say to your heart.
7:42 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
7:44 And if crises shake you.
7:46 And calamities surround you.
7:48 And distress befalls you.
7:50 Then say to your heart.
7:52 "Indeed, Allah is with us."
7:54 If the world stood.
7:56 The entire world in your face.
7:58 And humanity fought you.
8:00 All of humanity.
8:02 And everyone on the face of the earth abandoned you.
8:04 Then do not grieve.
8:06 Because Allah is with us.
8:08 And if we are in our lives.
8:10 With Allah, following.
8:12 The Messenger of Allah.
8:14 Magnifying the religion of Allah.
8:16 Allah will be with us.
8:18 With His support and reinforcement,
8:20 And His protection and care.
8:22 So let us not grieve,
8:24 Nor be anxious,
8:26 Nor become depressed,
8:28 Because Allah, glory be to Him, is with us.
8:30 And so it was.
8:32 We shall not feel constrained,
8:34 Nor shall we go astray,
8:36 Nor shall we be lost,
8:38 Nor shall we despair,
8:40 Nor shall we lose hope,
8:42 Because Allah is with us.
8:44 Victory is our ally,
8:46 Relief is our companion,
8:48 Conquest is our associate,
8:50 Success is our goal,
8:52 And prosperity is our final destination,
8:54 Because Allah is with us.
8:56 How can we be anxious, O servants of Allah?
8:58 Do not grieve,
9:00 For Allah, glory be to Him, is with us—
9:02 The Pillar that cannot be shaken,
9:04 The Power that cannot be surpassed,
9:06 And the Might that cannot be overcome.
9:08 And as long as Allah is with us,
9:10 Whom shall we fear?
9:12 Whom shall we dread?
9:14 Whom shall we be intimidated by?
9:16 Is Allah not the All-Powerful, the Exalted in Might?
9:18 Is Allah not,
9:20 The Compeller, the Avenger?
9:22 And as long as Allah is with us,
9:24 Why should we lament,
9:26 A lack of numbers,
9:28 Or a shortage of equipment,
9:30 Or poverty of wealth,
9:32 Or the desertion of supporters?
9:34 Because Allah is with us, and that is sufficient.
9:36 He is with us, and that is sufficient.
9:38 O servants of Allah,
9:40 The greatest word in sermons,
9:42 And the most noble phrase during times of distress,
9:44 Is this truthful,
9:46 Radiant word:
9:48 "Do not grieve,
9:50 For Allah is with us."
9:52 The secret of this word,
9:54 And its greatness,
9:56 Lies in its meaning,
9:58 When you recall the companionship of Allah,
10:00 He in whose hand,
10:02 Are the reins of authority, the necks of the servants,
10:04 The destinies of creation,
10:06 And the provisions of all beings.
10:08 Do not grieve,
10:10 For Allah is with us.
10:12 It came at a moment,
10:14 When the Infallible one was surrounded,
10:16 Along with his companion in the cave,
10:18 The door was shut,
10:20 And the enemies surrounded them,
10:22 From every side,
10:24 Drawing their swords of death,
10:26 Seeking the most noble,
10:28 Heart ever created,
10:30 The purest soul ever found,
10:32 And the most sanctified spirit ever fashioned.
10:34 What was the recourse?
10:36 The recourse was,
10:38 To raise the case,
10:40 And the weight of the tragedy,
10:42 And the record of the catastrophe,
10:44 To the heavens,
10:46 To the One who rose over the Throne,
10:48 To judge therein as He wills.
10:50 The Messenger of the Message sent,
10:52 He of the radiant heart,
10:54 The overflowing,
10:56 He sent to his companion, Abu Bakr,
10:58 A gentle message,
11:00 Calm,
11:02 Smiling, and affectionate;
11:04 Its text was:
11:06 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
11:08 And thus, grief turned into joy,
11:10 Anxiety into relief,
11:12 Sorrow into comfort,
11:14 Distress into ease,
11:16 And defeat into a mighty victory.
11:18 This is a message,
11:20 To everyone burdened with worry and grief,
11:22 A message to every debtor,
11:24 A message to every,
11:26 Unmarried person, a message,
11:28 To every oppressed person,
11:30 A message to those deprived,
11:32 Of offspring, a message,
11:34 To everyone in need:
11:36 Do not grieve.
11:38 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)
11:40 If you are certain,
11:42 Of that, then receive glad tidings,
11:44 Of goodness and relief,
11:46 From a Generous Lord,
11:48 Bountiful and Merciful.
11:50 Do not grieve,
11:52 For Allah is with us.
11:54 Grief is a natural state,
11:56 In human beings,
11:58 And it is one of the eight conditions,
12:00 That,
12:02 Befall and encounter them,
12:04 But they do not last.
12:06 They are summarized by the one who said:
12:08 "Eight things run,
12:10 Upon a person always,
12:12 And no person can,
12:14 Avoid encountering these eight:
12:16 Joy,
12:18 And grief,
12:20 Union and separation,
12:22 Hardship and ease,
12:24 Then sickness and health."
12:26 And grief, O servants of Allah,
12:28 Afflicts the believer,
12:30 Just as it afflicts the disbeliever.
12:32 Therefore,
12:34 The Prophet, peace be upon him,
12:36 Used to seek refuge in Allah from it,
12:38 Saying:
12:40 "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety,
12:42 And I seek refuge in You from grief,
12:45 And I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness,
12:47 And I seek refuge in You from cowardice,
12:49 And stinginess,
12:51 And I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt,
12:53 And the oppression of men."
12:55 And the departure of grief,
12:57 Is a great blessing,
12:59 For which we must praise Allah,
13:01 Just as the people of Paradise praised Him.
13:03 He, glory be to Him, says:
13:05 "And they will say, 'Praise to Allah,
13:07 Who has removed,
13:09 From us all sorrow;
13:11 Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative.'"
13:13 And for this reason,
13:15 The most beloved,
13:17 Thing to Satan,
13:19 Is to make the believing servant grieve,
13:21 To cut him off,
13:23 From his work,
13:25 And stop him from doing good,
13:27 So he beautifies for him,
13:29 Whispered conversations of backbiting and slander.
13:31 He, glory be to Him, said:
13:33 "Private conversation is only,
13:35 From Satan,
13:37 That he may grieve those who have believed."
13:39 So, O servant of Allah,
13:41 O handmaid of Allah,
13:43 O every believer, male and female,
13:45 O every,
13:47 Muslim, male and female,
13:49 Repeat always and forever,
13:51 With your hearts,
13:53 And your tongues: "Do not grieve,
13:55 For Allah is with us."
13:57 Do not grieve,
13:59 For Allah is with us.
14:01 If we truly feel this great companionship,
14:03 We have succeeded,
14:05 By the Lord of the Ka'bah, in,
14:07 The affairs of this world and the Hereafter.
14:10 Until our next meeting,
14:12 Within the series "From the Pulpits,"
14:14 And peace be upon you,
14:16 And the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
