0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
0:03 The Echo of the Pulpits.
0:06 And what it refuses to yield.
0:09 A sermon by the virtuous Sheikh Khalid ibn 'Abd al-Hamud, may Allah preserve him.
0:17 Praise be to Allah, the Almighty, the Bestower.
0:21 Praise be to Allah, the Sovereign, the Lord of all lords.
0:24 Praise be to Allah, the Forgiver of sins, the Acceptor of repentance, the Severe in punishment.
0:30 Praise be to Allah, who created mankind from Adam, and created Adam from dust.
0:35 Praise be to Allah, who created death and life to test us.
0:40 And to Him is the final return.
0:44 I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone, having no partner.
0:49 “All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah; unto Him belongeth Sovereignty and unto Him belongeth praise, and He is Able to do all things.” (64:1)
0:54 Exalted is He above any likeness, peer, equal, or counterpart.
0:58 “The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby He multiplieth you. Naught is as His likeness; and He is the Hearer, the Seer.” (42:11)
1:03 I bear witness that our master, our prophet, and our beloved, Muhammad, is the servant of Allah and His Messenger.
1:11 His chosen one and His intimate friend.
1:13 The chosen, the elect.
1:16 The beloved, the selected.
1:18 The intimate friend, the purified.
1:22 Noble in his lineage.
1:24 Pure in his progeny.
1:27 Great in his humility.
1:29 Faithful in his commitments.
1:32 Patience was his mantle.
1:34 Modesty was his garment.
1:36 Forbearance was his crown.
1:39 Generosity was his nature.
1:41 Forgiveness was his character.
1:44 May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah.
1:48 May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O best of creation.
1:52 May the prayers and peace of my Lord be upon you, fragrant and pure.
1:56 O Seal of the noble messengers, Muhammad.
2:00 By the revelation and the Qur'an, you were purified.
2:04 For you, O Messenger of Allah, is a sincere love.
2:08 That surpasses the love of all who dwell upon the earth.
2:12 For you, O Messenger of Allah, is a sincere love.
2:16 That never ends.
2:19 No, and it shall never change.
2:22 O Allah, send prayers and peace upon the best of creation.
2:25 O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad.
2:29 And upon his good and pure household.
2:33 And upon his noble and blessed Companions.
2:36 And grant them abundant peace until the Day of Judgment.
2:40 Now then, servants of Allah.
2:42 I advise you and myself to fear Allah.
2:45 O you who have believed.
2:48 “O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him)” (3:102)
2:50 “O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him)” (3:102)
2:54 O community of believers.
2:57 O beloved ones for the sake of Allah.
3:01 I spoke in this blessed mosque.
3:04 Two years ago.
3:06 About a topic.
3:09 Whose meanings I did not fully grasp.
3:12 Until now.
3:14 Do you know why?
3:16 Because I spoke about the father.
3:19 And the status of the father.
3:21 And the virtue of the father.
3:23 And that he is the middle gate of Paradise.
3:26 I was speaking while feeling at ease.
3:29 Because my father was present.
3:32 And attending in the mosque.
3:34 In fact, I had asked his permission.
3:37 To speak on this topic.
3:40 So that he would not have any reservations about it.
3:44 And so that I would not be among those who say what they do not do.
3:48 But.
3:50 Five days ago.
3:52 Something happened that stunned me.
3:55 And made me feel the sting of being orphaned.
3:58 After he passed away, may Allah have mercy on him.
4:01 By Allah, O servants of Allah.
4:03 Despite his illness.
4:05 May Allah have mercy on him.
4:07 And his lack of awareness.
4:09 I still felt a sense of security.
4:12 Yes.
4:14 For if the mother is tenderness.
4:17 Then the father is security.
4:20 And if women.
4:22 Are the mothers of men.
4:25 Then men are the fathers of women.
4:28 The father.
4:29 Is a high wall of security.
4:32 Enveloping the family.
4:34 He is the pillar of the house.
4:36 And the secret of its stability.
4:38 He is your support in this life.
4:41 He is the possessor of the great heart.
4:44 His presence is a blessing from Allah.
4:46 That does not repeat itself twice in life.
4:49 The difference between a father and other men.
4:52 Is like the difference between Zamzam water.
4:54 And all other water.
4:56 In the eyes of the world.
4:58 You are my father.
5:00 And in my eyes, you are the world.
5:02 Whenever I needed a homeland to protect me.
5:05 And a bosom to shelter me.
5:07 I called out the word "father."
5:10 And I praised my Lord.
5:12 And I praised the Lord of the universe in His highness.
5:15 That it was you.
5:17 And no one else who was my father.
5:19 And no matter how old we grow.
5:21 Our feeling.
5:23 Our feeling toward our fathers.
5:25 Remains childlike in the depths of our souls.
5:28 That is because the father.
5:30 Is the one who.
5:32 You ask for two stars.
5:34 And he returns having brought you the sky.
5:37 That is the father.
5:39 Do you know who your father is, O son?
5:41 Your father.
5:43 Is the one for whom you were a cause of miserliness and stinginess.
5:45 He toils and strives.
5:47 And faces all kinds of hardship.
5:49 In order to raise you.
5:51 And provide for you.
5:53 If he looks at you, he smiles.
5:55 And if you approach him, he beams with joy.
5:57 Love your father, O son.
5:59 If he is just.
6:01 And if he is not.
6:03 Then bear with him.
6:05 O blessed son.
6:07 Do you know what the great sorrow is?
6:09 It is the day of the father's departure.
6:12 From this world.
6:14 When the father dies.
6:16 Orphanhood is born in the depths of our souls.
6:18 No matter how old we are.
6:20 No matter how old we are.
6:22 To lose your father.
6:24 Means to lose the wall.
6:26 That you used to lean upon.
6:28 And the balance of the house is disrupted.
6:30 To lose your father.
6:32 Means to lose the umbrella.
6:34 That protects you after Allah.
6:36 To lose your father.
6:38 You will realize that there is.
6:40 Weeping without tears.
6:42 And every joy remains incomplete.
6:44 Because the father is not there.
6:46 When the father dies.
6:48 When the father dies.
6:50 You will not be able to sing.
6:52 The word "father."
6:54 Do you know why?
6:56 Because the dust has enshrouded him.
6:58 The dust has enshrouded him.
7:00 And you are unable.
7:02 To hear his voice.
7:04 Or see him.
7:06 And you will weep tears of blood.
7:08 If only you had been dutiful to him.
7:10 So fear Allah.
7:12 Before there is no meeting.
7:14 Except before Allah.
7:16 Exalted is He in His highness.
7:18 And your Lord has decreed.
7:20 That you worship none but Him.
7:22 And to parents, show kindness.
7:24 Whether one or both of them.
7:26 Reach old age with you.
7:28 Do not say to them "uff" (a word of contempt).
7:30 “Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.” (17:23)
7:32 And do not repel them.
7:34 “Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.” (17:23)
7:36 And lower to them the wing.
7:38 Of humility out of mercy.
7:40 And say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them.
7:42 As they brought me up [when I was] small."
7:44 My Lord, have mercy upon them.
7:46 As they brought me up [when I was] small.
7:48 May Allah bless me and you.
7:50 In the Great Qur'an.
7:52 And benefit me and you with what is in it.
7:54 “This (which) We recite unto thee is a revelation and a wise reminder.” (3:58)
7:56 I say what you hear.
7:58 And I seek forgiveness from Allah for myself and for you.
8:00 So seek His forgiveness, for He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
8:04 Praise be to Allah.
8:06 And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah.
8:08 And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
8:10 Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
8:12 Now then, servants of Allah.
8:15 I said, O son.
8:17 What is the way to the pleasure of the father?
8:19 The answer.
8:21 Is in the five commandments.
8:23 From Allah to you.
8:26 Listen, O servant of Allah, and reflect.
8:28 And contemplate.
8:30 Allah the Almighty said.
8:32 In the verse we heard.
8:35 “Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.” (17:23)
8:37 And do not repel them.
8:39 “Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.” (17:23)
8:41 And lower to them the wing.
8:43 Of humility out of mercy.
8:45 And say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them.
8:47 As they brought me up [when I was] small."
8:49 These five.
8:51 Hold fast to it.
8:53 He commanded two things.
8:55 And He forbade two things.
8:57 And He commanded a comprehensive action.
9:03 So guard, O servant of Allah,
9:05 that which you have been commanded.
9:07 O blessed son,
9:09 if your parents,
9:11 or one of them, is still alive,
9:13 then praise Allah.
9:15 And seize the opportunity,
9:17 I do not say every hour,
9:19 but every fraction
9:21 of a second.
9:23 Seize that opportunity to show them kindness.
9:25 Before the chance slips away from you,
9:27 and you are left with regret.
9:29 For the day will come
9:31 when you will no longer see
9:33 your mother or your father.
9:35 Whoever has experienced such deprivation knows its weight.
9:37 Whoever has experienced such deprivation knows its weight.
9:39 O Allah, forgive us.
9:41 O Allah, forgive our fathers and our mothers.
9:43 O Allah, forgive our fathers,
9:45 and our mothers.
9:47 O Allah, whoever among them is still alive,
9:49 then prolong their life,
9:51 and make their deeds righteous,
9:53 and grant them a good conclusion.
9:55 And make them pleased with us.
9:57 And ward off from them affliction and harm.
9:59 O Allah.
10:01 And whoever among them
10:03 we have laid to rest in the earth,
10:05 and who has departed from us,
10:07 having fulfilled their duty and shown kindness,
10:10 O Allah, illuminate their grave for them,
10:12 and expand it for them.
10:14 O Allah, gather us
10:16 with them in the highest Paradise.
10:18 O Allah, do not let us be distracted
10:20 from showing them kindness, whether they are alive
10:22 or dead.
10:24 O Allah, do not deprive them
10:26 of the vastness of Your mercy,
10:28 the encompassing of Your well-being,
10:30 and the abundance of Your bounty.
10:32 O Allah, do not turn Your noble Face away from them.
10:34 O Allah, conclude their affairs with goodness,
10:36 and make the outcome of their matters
10:38 lead to good.
10:40 O Allah, whoever among them has died
10:42 has now come under Your protection,
10:44 and the bond of Your neighborhood.
10:46 O Allah, protect them from the punishment of the grave,
10:48 and the punishment of Hellfire.
10:50 O Allah, let the breezes of Paradise
10:52 blow upon them in their graves.
10:54 O Allah, compensate them
10:56 for every pain.
10:58 “And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil);” (3:133)
11:00 O Allah, reward them
11:02 for their good deeds with greater goodness,
11:04 and for their sins with pardon and forgiveness.
11:06 O Allah, heal their sick,
11:08 grant well-being to those among them who are afflicted,
11:10 settle their debts,
11:12 relieve their distress,
11:14 remove their burdens,
11:16 and facilitate their affairs.
11:18 O Allah, O Hearer of supplication,
11:20 have mercy on them as they raised us when we were small.
11:22 O Allah, have mercy on them as they raised us when we were small.
11:24 O Allah, grant us
11:26 the pleasure of our parents,
11:28 and the kindness of our children without hardship.
11:30 O Allah, O Hearer of supplication,
11:32 answer our supplication for them.
11:34 O Allah, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor,
11:36 rectify our intentions and our offspring.
11:38 Forgive our sins,
11:40 conceal our faults,
11:42 accept our repentance, and conclude our deeds with righteousness.
11:44 Grant us security in our homelands,
11:46 and rectify our leaders,
11:48 and those in authority over us.
11:50 O Allah, grant victory to our soldiers on the borders,
11:52 and grant victory to our oppressed brothers
11:54 everywhere.
11:56 O Allah, just as You have gathered us upon this floor,
11:58 gather us beneath Your Throne,
12:00 as brothers, facing one another on thrones.
12:02 O Allah, this is the supplication, and from You is the answer.
12:04 “Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)” (37:180)
12:06 from what they describe.
12:08 And peace be upon the messengers.
12:10 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
