Whoever Allah guides, none can lead astray,

and whoever He leaves astray, none can guide.

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, having no partner.

“All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah; unto Him belongeth Sovereignty and unto Him belongeth praise, and He is Able to do all things.” (64:1)

And I bear witness that our master, our Prophet, and our beloved, Muhammad, is the servant of Allah and His Messenger,

for it is the commandment of Allah to us and to those who came before us.

“Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.” (4:131)

a lack of blessing,

and a lack of inner peace within the house.

Some people spend much of their time outside the home, fleeing from it,

feeling distressed and uneasy when they are inside.

This unease

and lack of tranquility have causes, among which—

and this is our topic today—

is the abandonment of our homes by the angels.

The failure of the angels of mercy to enter—

those who circulate with mercy, blessings, and prayers for forgiveness for the homes of the Muslims—

is one of the greatest reasons for the complaints many people have

regarding the lack of stability and tranquility in their homes.

When we speak of the angels abandoning our homes,

we mean the angels of mercy, blessing, and forgiveness.

Otherwise, there are angels

who never leave the son of Adam,

because they are commanded to record the deeds of the son of Adam

and write them down,

as well as the angels of death.

So I say, O beloved ones,

has any one of us considered this matter?

Has this issue occurred to him regarding his home?

Or when he complains and finds no peace in his house,

that the abandonment of his home by the angels

that, if they occur in a Muslim's home,

that the angels do not enter

among the homes of the Muslims?

Firstly, O servants of Allah,

the home of the one who severs ties of kinship.

Know, may Allah have mercy on you,

that the angels

do not descend upon a people

among whom is one who severs ties of kinship.

Our Lord, glory be to Him, has pledged

to join those who join their ties of kinship

and to sever those who sever them.

So be diligent, O servant of Allah,

if you wish for the angels not to depart from your home,

and for you to find tranquility in your house,

then join your ties of kinship,

visit your relatives,

and look after them in ways that improve their affairs

and fulfill their needs,

if you are able to do so,

so that you may attain the pleasure and mercy of your Lord,

and the prayers of the angels for you.

Indeed, joining ties of kinship

among Muslims

is one of the foundations

upon which Islam is built.

Therefore,

we see the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,

mentioning this, saying:

“Then, when they have reached their term, take them back in kindness or part from them in kindness, and call to witness two just men among you, and keep your testimony upright for Allah. Whoso believeth in Allah and the Last Day is exhorted to act thus. And whosoever keepeth his duty to Allah, Allah will appoint a way out for him,” (65:2)

"Let him join his ties of kinship."

And he, peace be upon him, said:

"Indeed, Allah the Exalted

created the creation,

and when He finished with them,

the Kinship (al-Rahim) stood up

and said,

'This is the place of one who seeks refuge in You from being severed.'

He said, 'Yes.

Are you not pleased

that I join those who join you

and sever those who sever you?'

She said, 'Yes.'

He said, 'Then that is for you.'"

Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:

"Read if you wish:

﴾So would you perhaps, if you turned away,

cause corruption on earth

“Would ye then, if ye were given the command, work corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship?” (47:22)

and sever your ties of kinship?﴿

Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed,

so He deafened them

and blinded their vision."

And O my blessed brother,

it is a sufficient deterrent for you

that the one who severs ties of kinship

will not enter Paradise, and we seek refuge in Allah from that.

will not enter Paradise,"

and he mentioned among them the one who severs ties of kinship.

of calamity and misery for its owner,

it is the home of the one who is undutiful to his parents.

the angels of mercy

do not enter a home

in which a major sin is committed.

And what major sin is greater

than being undutiful to one's parents?

the angels to be pleased

of one who is undutiful to his parents?

to find rest in your house,

and not be afflicted by misery and distress,

if you are undutiful to your parents?

For how long has our Lord, blessed and exalted be He, commanded

goodness toward parents?

﴾And We have enjoined upon man

[care for] his parents.

His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness

upon weakness,

and his weaning is in two years.

Be grateful to Me

and to your parents;

to Me is the [final] destination.﴿

And on the authority of Abu Bakr,

of the greatest of the major sins?"

He said, "Associating partners with Allah

then he sat up and said,

"And beware of false speech,

and beware of false testimony."

So, O you who are neglectful

of the most binding of rights,

and who have exchanged

the kindness of parents

for undutifulness,

[you are] heedless of what is required of you,

heedless,

of what lies before you.

Kindness to parents is a debt you owe.

You seek Paradise,

in your claim,

while it lies beneath the feet of your mother.

She carried you in her womb for nine months,

as if they were

nine years,

and she endured in childbirth

what melts the heart,

and she nursed you from her breast,

and washed away

the filth from you with her own hands,

She preferred you over her own self,

throughout the morning and evening.

If you were afflicted by illness,

or complained of pain, she would show such distress

that it exceeded all bounds.

Had she been given the choice between your life

and her own death, she would have requested

your life at the top

of her voice.

Yet, how often have you treated her with poor

character, time and again?

She would pray for your success

and openly invoke blessings for you.

Then, when she reached old age

and was in need of you,

you made her the most insignificant of things

in your eyes. You ate your fill

while she remained hungry,
9:46
and you drank your fill while she remained thirsty.

You prioritized

your wife and children in your kindness,
9:52
and you met her helping hands

with forgetfulness.

You found her needs burdensome,

though they were simple,

and her long life seemed too long to you, though it was short.

You abandoned her,

even though she had no protector but you.

This,

while your Master has forbidden you

from even saying "uff" (an expression of annoyance),

and has admonished you regarding her rights

with a gentle rebuke.

You will be punished in your worldly life

through the disobedience of your own children,

and in your hereafter

through distance from the Lord of the worlds.

He calls out to you with the language

of warning and threat:

"That is for what your own hands

have sent forth,"

"and Allah is not ever unjust to His servants."

So fear Allah, O servants of Allah,

regarding your parents,

for their right

is among the greatest of rights,

and disobeying them

is among the greatest of major sins and transgressions.

O Allah, grant us

their pleasure after Your pleasure,

and enable us to be dutiful to them.

Have mercy upon them as

they raised us when we were small.

O Allah, have mercy upon them as

May Allah bless me and you through the Great Qur'an,

benefit,

or guarding.

so that you do not suffer loss in your homes,

Listen to this amazing hadith.

"...his reward decreases

by one qirat every day."

And a qirat is like

a great mountain.

And there is no power nor strength except by Allah.

that as long as there is no verified

benefit

in keeping dogs,

it is incumbent upon the Muslim

not to bring them into his house

in imitation of the customs of the disbelievers,

so that he may succeed

and ensure that he and his household

enjoy the company of the angels of mercy.

We ask Allah for safety and well-being,

and that He rectifies our conditions

and our homes,

and that He rectifies our intentions

and our offspring,

and that He rectifies the conditions of the Muslims

in every place.

O Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the following of it,

and show us falsehood

as falsehood and grant us the avoidance of it.

O Allah, forgive our sins,

conceal our faults,

accept our repentance,

and seal our deeds with righteousness.

O Allah, guide us to the best of character,

for none guides to the best of it

except You,

and turn away from us its evil,

for none turns away its evil

O Allah, we ask You for Your pleasure and Paradise,

rectify our leaders and those in authority over us,

grant victory to our soldiers on the borders,

and grant victory to our oppressed brothers

so answer us as You promised us,

and give us what we have hoped for,

and more than what we have hoped for,

of the good of this world and the hereafter.
