0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

0:03 The story of Yusuf, peace be upon him, with the wife of al-Aziz.

0:09 He said, "I seek refuge in Allah."

0:14 Indeed, salvation from the tribulations that buffet a Muslim’s faith

0:18 begins with seeking refuge in Allah from them.

0:21 Then, by distancing oneself from them and avoiding exposure to them.

0:25 Then, by dealing with them according to the methods of the Sharia and the Prophetic advice.

0:31 Truly, the greatest tribulation that a man encounters in this world

0:35 is the tribulation of women.

0:37 As the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, informed us.

0:42 This is the very tribulation that Yusuf, peace be upon him, faced

0:46 in the house of al-Aziz with the wife of al-Aziz.

0:49 So, how did he deal with it and find salvation from it?

0:53 We must first agree that the tribulation of women involves two parties:

0:59 the tempter and the tempted.

1:01 A man and a woman.

1:03 The danger arises from a woman being tempted by a man and her tempting him.

1:08 The woman bears a great deal of responsibility in this tribulation from two aspects.

1:13 The first aspect:

1:15 causing a man to be tempted,

1:18 whether intentionally or unintentionally.

1:20 This does not occur on her part unless she transgresses the Sharia boundaries that Allah has commanded her to observe.

1:27 A man will not be tempted by a woman who adheres to the boundaries of Allah and His law in her clothing, her movements,

1:34 her adornment, and her interaction with men.

1:37 Rather, a man is tempted by a woman who has transgressed the boundaries of Allah in her clothing or her adornment,

1:44 or in her movements or her interaction with men.

1:48 Therefore, Allah the Almighty said: "Do not be soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak an honorable speech. And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance."

2:06 And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not yet seen:

2:13 a people having whips like the tails of oxen with which they strike the people,

2:18 and women who are clothed yet naked, swaying and making others sway,

2:23 their heads like the humps of camels, leaning to one side.

2:27 They will not enter Paradise, nor will they smell its fragrance,

2:31 even though its fragrance can be perceived from such and such a distance."

2:36 The wife of al-Aziz transgressed all these boundaries,

2:41 in terms of adornment and clothing,

2:44 in terms of being soft in speech with explicit expressions,

2:48 and in terms of seclusion and preparing the place.

2:52 This is considered one of the most potent situations and scenarios that tempt a man with a woman.

2:58 In this discourse, there is a lesson for every woman who desires truth and sincerity with Allah

3:03 in distancing herself from the tribulations of men,

3:06 and protecting herself from bearing their sins by causing them to fall into tribulation.

3:11 [The lesson is] to be sincere in working to adhere to the boundaries of Allah in her clothing,

3:16 her movements, her adornment, and her interaction with men.

3:21 And not to rely on what she claims is in her heart,

3:24 [such as] not intending to tempt men or draw their attention.

3:28 For the standard is what one does, not what one claims in one's inner self.

3:33 The second aspect: her being tempted by the man.

3:37 This is a hidden matter known only to Allah the Almighty,

3:42 yet what indicates it may appear from her,

3:46 and some people may become aware of it.

3:49 A woman’s actions are evidence of what is in her inner self.

3:53 This does not occur on her part unless she neglects the care of her heart.

3:59 It is the sick heart that falls into tribulation.

4:03 Therefore, Allah warned her against being soft in speech,

4:07 even if she did not intend to tempt,

4:09 for fear that her softness might encounter a sick heart and thus be tempted by her.

4:14 And you, my dear sister, are responsible for protecting your heart

4:18 from falling into tribulations from their very beginnings,

4:22 so that your heart does not become blackened,

4:24 after which it neither recognizes good nor rejects evil,

4:29 as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

4:33 "Tribulations are presented to the hearts like a reed mat, stick by stick.

4:38 Any heart that absorbs them will have a black spot marked upon it,

4:43 and any heart that rejects them will have a white spot marked upon it,

4:48 until they become two types of hearts: one white like a smooth stone,

4:53 which no tribulation will harm as long as the heavens and the earth endure,

4:58 and the other black and dusty like an overturned vessel,

5:02 which neither recognizes good nor rejects evil,

5:06 except for what it has absorbed of its own desires."

5:09 Narrated by Muslim.

5:11 In the story of the Prophet of Allah, Yusuf, with the wife of al-Aziz, we have

5:16 an excellent example in dealing with the tribulation of women.

5:20 Yusuf, peace be upon him, followed the first course

5:24 in dealing with this tribulation,

5:26 by seeking refuge in Allah from it.

5:29 He said, "I seek refuge in Allah,"

5:32 meaning: I take refuge in Allah and seek His protection from this tribulation.

5:37 This action by the Prophet of Allah, Yusuf, peace be upon him,

5:41 is what our noble Prophet,

5:44 peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, guided us to, saying:

5:47 "Seek refuge in Allah from tribulations,

5:50 both the apparent and the hidden."

5:53 Narrated by Muslim.

5:55 So, whenever a man or a woman feels a type of tribulation,

5:59 each of them must begin by seeking refuge in Allah from it.

6:04 For there is no protector against tribulations except Allah.

6:07 Then, one must distance oneself from the place of tribulation and its practical causes

6:11 that led one into it or nearly led one into it.

6:16 If the tribulation occurred because of conversation and messaging

6:20 via modern communication tools,

6:23 then one must abandon them and distance oneself from them,

6:26 even if it means changing one's phone number,

6:29 and deleting or blocking the other party's numbers.

6:33 And if the tribulation occurred because of

6:36 mixing and direct contact

6:39 in the field of work, study, or otherwise,

6:42 then one must leave that place,

6:45 if the matter of the heart and its protection and safety

6:48 from tribulation concerns the one who has fallen into it,

6:51 whether man or woman.

6:54 It is of no use to make flimsy excuses

6:57 for continuing to remain in the place of tribulation.

7:00 We have in the Prophet of Allah, Yusuf, peace be upon him,

7:04 an excellent example in his rapid flight

7:07 from the place of tribulation toward the closed door,

7:10 to open it and exit,

7:13 preserving his religion, until Allah said of him:

7:16 "And they both raced to the door, and she tore his shirt

7:19 from the back."

7:22 He did not hesitate for a moment in saving himself

7:25 from this tribulation and used all

7:28 his strength in this escape and raced her,

7:31 to the point that she tried to grab him,

7:35 and the shirt tore from the force

7:38 of Yusuf’s, peace be upon him, rush toward the door,

7:41 fleeing from the tribulation.

7:44 O Allah, we seek refuge in You from tribulations,

7:47 both the apparent and the hidden.

7:50 O Allah, we seek refuge in You from

7:53 the tribulation of women.

7:56 The hadith has a remainder; we will continue in a

7:59 future meeting, if Allah wills,

8:03 regarding the wife of al-Aziz.
