I was in three situations in which I recognized myself as being an infidel at first, so I was blamed at that time, and Hell would have been necessary for me. When I pledged allegiance to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, I was the most ashamed of people toward him, to the point that I never filled my eyes with him. So I blamed at that time because people would have said, “Congratulations to Omar.” He embraced Islam for good and died for good. Then after that, I was caught up in things, and I do not know whether it was higher or mine.
