He established brotherhood between me and Sa'd Ibn al-Rabi', may Allah be pleased with him.

Sa'd said to me, "I am the wealthiest of the Ansar."

"I will divide my wealth between me and you in half."

"And I have two wives, so look at the one you like most, and I will divorce her for you."

I said to him, "May Allah bless you in your family and your wealth; just show me the market of Medina."

I went to the market, traded, profited from some dried yogurt and ghee, and gathered some wealth.

Then I married a woman from the Ansar.

I came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and there was a trace of yellow scent on me.

He said to me, "What is this?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have married a woman from the Ansar."

"I call you to witness that the caravan with its loads is charity in the way of Allah the Almighty."

I was fasting one day, and they brought me food for breaking the fast, from the most delicious and pleasant things.

I said, "Mus'ab Ibn 'Umayr was killed, and he was better than me."

"He was shrouded in a mantle; if his head was covered, his feet appeared."

"And if his feet were covered, his head appeared."

"And Hamzah was killed, and he was better than me."

"And nothing was found to shroud him in except a mantle."

and I had prepared nothing of my equipment.

until the people departed.

I said, "I will buy my equipment tomorrow and then catch up with them,"

but I continued in this state until the army had moved far away.

and he would accept their excuses and entrust their affairs to Allah the Almighty.

“We (angels) come not down save by commandment of thy Lord. Unto Him belongeth all that is before us and all that is behind us and all that is between those two, and thy Lord was never forgetful -” (19:64)
