0:00 Our Mother ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
0:07 “O ‘A’ishah, this is Jibril, and he is conveying peace to you.”
0:13 Allah, the Almighty, has commanded us to take the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as our example.
0:21 He said:
0:23 “Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.” (33:21)
0:31 “Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.” (33:21)
0:39 Following his example is not limited to outward acts of worship,
0:44 but extends to every aspect of his life, peace be upon him.
0:49 This includes matters related to his life within his home,
0:53 and his interactions with his wives, the Mothers of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with them.
0:58 For he, peace be upon him,
1:01 treated them in the most exemplary manner a husband could.
1:06 He would converse with them and listen to their speech,
1:10 educating them in the teachings of Islam,
1:13 answering their questions, and engaging with their discussions,
1:18 without any annoyance, boredom, or anger.
1:22 Perhaps the most prominent among his wives, peace be upon him, in terms of dialogue was
1:28 ‘A’ishah, the Mother of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with her.
1:32 She is the truthful woman, daughter of the truthful man.
1:35 In these episodes, we will explore
1:38 some of the incidents that occurred between our Mother ‘A’ishah and the Prophet, peace be upon him,
1:44 and the dialogues or educational guidance they contain,
1:48 along with other lessons.
1:50 ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, held
1:53 a lofty status with the Prophet, peace be upon him,
1:58 which was manifested in his hadiths,
2:02 in his practical conduct, and in other ways.
2:05 Among these is that he, peace be upon him,
2:09 when asked by ‘Amr ibn al-‘As, may Allah be pleased with him:
2:13 “Who among the people is most beloved to you?”
2:15 He replied, “ ‘A’ishah.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari).
2:19 This is a clear declaration from him, peace be upon him,
2:23 that ‘A’ishah was the most beloved of all people to him.
2:26 Furthermore, out of his love for her, peace be upon him,
2:30 he supplicated for her with a magnificent prayer.
2:33 ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, says:
2:36 “When I saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, in a cheerful mood,
2:41 I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah,
2:43 supplicate to Allah for me.’
2:45 He said:
2:46 ‘O Allah, forgive ‘A’ishah her past and future sins,
2:52 and what she has hidden and what she has made public.’
2:55 ‘A’ishah laughed until her head fell into her lap from joy.
3:01 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to her:
3:05 ‘Does my supplication please you?’
3:07 She replied:
3:08 ‘And why would your supplication not please me?’
3:11 He, peace be upon him, said:
3:14 ‘By Allah, it is my supplication for my Ummah in every prayer.’
3:19 (Narrated by Ibn Hibban).
3:21 Who among us does not wish to be included in the supplication of the Prophet, peace be upon him,
3:27 which he makes for his Ummah?
3:30 And he made it a special supplication for ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
3:35 Another sign of his love, peace be upon him, for ‘A’ishah
3:40 is that he would not accept anyone causing her harm, not even with a single word.
3:46 It is stated in a hadith from ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr
3:49 that he said:
3:50 “People used to time their gifts to coincide with the day of ‘A’ishah.”
3:54 ‘A’ishah said:
3:56 “My companions gathered and went to Umm Salamah,
3:59 and we said, ‘O Umm Salamah,
4:02 by Allah, people time their gifts to coincide with the day of ‘A’ishah,
4:07 and we desire the good just as ‘A’ishah desires it.
4:11 So, tell the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
4:15 to command the people to bring their gifts to him wherever he may be or wherever he turns.’ ”
4:21 She said:
4:22 “Umm Salamah mentioned this to the Prophet, peace be upon him.”
4:27 She said:
4:28 “He turned away from me.”
4:30 When he returned to me,
4:32 I mentioned it to him again,
4:34 and he turned away from me.
4:36 When I mentioned it a third time,
4:39 he said:
4:40 “O Umm Salamah,
4:42 do not harm me regarding ‘A’ishah,
4:44 for by Allah, the revelation has never come to me while I was under the covers of any woman among you except her.”
4:51 (Narrated by al-Bukhari).
4:53 And the one who brings the revelation
4:55 is Jibril, peace be upon him.
4:58 And Jibril loves ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
5:01 For he once came to the Prophet, peace be upon him,
5:06 while ‘A’ishah was by his side,
5:08 and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
5:12 “O ‘A’ishah,
5:14 this is Jibril, and he is conveying peace to you.”
5:17 She replied:
5:18 “And upon him be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.”
5:22 “You see what I do not see,”
5:24 referring to the Prophet, peace be upon him.
5:27 (Narrated by al-Bukhari).
5:29 And Jibril does not love anyone
5:32 unless Allah loves them.
5:34 It is stated in a hadith from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him,
5:39 that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
5:43 “When Allah loves a servant,
5:45 He calls Jibril:
5:47 ‘Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.’
5:50 Then Jibril loves him,
5:52 and Jibril calls out to the inhabitants of the heavens:
5:55 ‘Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.’
5:59 Then the inhabitants of the heavens love him,
6:02 and then acceptance is placed for him on earth.”
6:05 (Narrated by al-Bukhari).
6:07 Thus, Jibril’s love for ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her,
6:10 stems from Allah’s love for her.
6:13 So congratulations to ‘A’ishah for the love of Allah for her,
6:17 the love of Jibril for her,
6:19 and the love of the Prophet, peace be upon him, for her.
6:24 We love those whom Allah and His Messenger love.
6:27 We love ‘A’ishah and pray for her,
6:31 we love those who love her,
6:33 and we despise those who despise her.
6:36 This is the counsel of the Prophet, peace be upon him,
6:40 to Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her.
6:43 ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, says:
6:46 “The wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him, sent
6:50 Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
6:54 to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
6:58 She sought permission to enter while he was lying with me under my garment,
7:02 and he granted her permission.
7:04 She said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, your wives have sent me to you to ask you for fairness regarding the daughter of Abu Quhafah,’ while I remained silent.”
7:15 She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to her, “O my daughter, do you not love what I love?”
7:25 She replied, “Yes.” He said, “Then love her.”
7:30 She said: Fatimah stood up when she heard that from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
7:37 and returned to the wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and informed them of what she had said,
7:44 and what the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, had said to her.
7:49 They said to her, “We do not see that you have helped us in any way.
7:54 Go back to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and say to him: ‘Your wives ask you for fairness regarding the daughter of Abu Quhafah.’ ”
8:04 Fatimah said, “By Allah, I will never speak to him about her again.”
8:10 (Narrated by Muslim).
8:13 O Allah, make us among those who love the wives of Your Prophet and defend their honor.
8:20 We shall continue in a future meeting, if Allah wills. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
8:27 Our Mother ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
