5:17 So I gave it to her.
5:20 She divided it between her two daughters and did not eat any of it herself.
5:24 Then she stood up and left.
5:26 The Prophet, peace be upon him, then entered upon us.
5:30 I told him, and he said:
5:32 “Whoever is tested with these daughters and treats them well,
5:36 They will be a shield for them from the Fire.”

5:40 ‘Aishah found nothing in her house except one date.
5:45 So she gave it in charity, following what she had learned from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
5:52 And when she had much, she gave that in charity as well.
5:57 ‘Urwah said:
5:58 One day, eighty thousand [dirhams] came to her from Mu‘awiyah.
6:03 By evening, not a single dirham remained with her.
6:06 Her servant said to her:
6:09 "Could you not have bought us meat for a dirham from it to break our fast?"
6:12 She replied: "If you had reminded me, I would have done so."

6:25 And beyond these five states,
6:28 There is a state that is higher than asceticism.

6:35 If he finds it, he does not rejoice, nor is he troubled.
6:39 And if he loses it, it is the same.
6:42 Rather, his state is as was the state of ‘Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
6:47 When one hundred thousand dirhams came to her as a gift,
6:51 She took it and distributed it all that same day.
6:54 Her servant said:
6:56 "Could you not have managed, from what you distributed today,
6:59 To buy us meat for a dirham to break our fast?"
7:03 She said:
7:05 "If you had reminded me, I would have done so."
7:07 So, whoever is in this state,
7:09 Even if the entire world were in his hands and his treasuries,
7:14 It would not harm him.
7:15 For he sees wealth in the treasury of Allah, not in his own hand.
7:21 He does not distinguish between it being in his hand or in the hand of another.
7:25 So, shall we shield ourselves from the Fire with half a date in this blessed month?
7:30 And shall we raise our spouses to do the same?
7:35 We will continue in a future meeting, if Allah wills.
7:38 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
