1:25 Casting them overboard until they drowned within them.
1:28 And how many Muslims have had their small boat approached by
1:33 Doubts that pull them away from their Islam toward disbelief in its various forms,
1:39 Or deviate them from the Sunnah toward innovation.
1:43 Thus, they drowned in one of those waves.
1:47 And how many Muslims have remained steadfast on their boat amidst the waves of desires and doubts,
1:56 Only to be struck by the waves of skepticism and despair.
2:00 They continue to look at their reality and the reality of the Muslims, battered by misfortunes,
2:06 And they begin to ask,
2:09 Why has this happened to us?
2:12 And why has salvation and the Savior not yet come to us?
2:16 And Satan continues to fan the flames of this turbulent thought.
2:21 Until perhaps he capsizes the boat of their faith,
2:24 And they drown in a sea of harboring evil thoughts about Allah—we seek refuge in Allah.
2:30 So, you who are riding the boat of faith,
2:34 In the sea of this life, teeming with those destructive waves,
2:39 Remain steadfast, remain steadfast, remain steadfast.
2:43 For you are close to reaching the shore of salvation,
2:47 Which is Paradise and the pleasure of Allah.
2:51 But remember that reaching that safe shore
2:57 Requires you to re-examine your boat for any weaknesses or leaks.
3:04 So, fortify the boat of your faith,
3:07 Through an abundance of obedience and a scarcity of disobedience,
3:11 And by fearing the causes of deviation.
3:14 When you set out in your small vessel amidst waves like mountains,
3:19 Increase your supplication for steadfastness and safety.
3:23 Say: "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us."
3:30 “Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower.” (3:8)
3:36 And say: "O Turner of hearts,
3:40 Keep my heart firm upon Your religion."
3:43 And: "O Director of hearts,
3:46 Direct my heart toward Your obedience."
3:50 Be patient upon your boat,
3:52 Struggle against your desires,
3:54 And repel the doubts that circle your boat.
3:59 Remember that the outcome of your patience is praiseworthy.
4:03 And remember also, in this difficult time,
4:06 These three authentic hadiths.
4:10 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
4:15 "A time will come upon the people,"
4:18 "When the one who is patient upon his religion will be like one holding onto a burning coal."
4:23 And he, peace be upon him, said:
4:26 "Indeed, ahead of you are days of patience,"
4:29 "For the one who holds fast to it, there is the reward of fifty martyrs among you."
4:34 And he, peace be upon him, said:
4:39 "Until you see greed being obeyed,"
4:43 "Desires being followed,"
4:45 "The world being preferred,"
4:47 "And every person with an opinion being impressed by his own opinion,"
4:50 "Then look to yourself and leave the affairs of the masses."
4:54 "For ahead of you are days,"
4:57 "Where patience is like holding onto a burning coal,"
5:01 "For the one who acts during them, there is the reward of fifty men,"
5:05 "Who do the same as his deeds."
5:07 If you remain steadfast upon the truth, you will find the taste of happiness,
5:13 Even if your path is filled with thorns,
5:17 And your hopes are shrouded in exhaustion.
5:21 Indeed, the threats of the path and its wounds may even increase you
5:27 In steadfastness and happiness beyond what you already possess.
5:31 If there is healing for us in it, even if it is bitter,
5:36 For perhaps the health of the body comes through hardship.
