Breeze of Magic | Episode (16) | Do not be sad, God is with us

0:02 The breeze of the dawn.

0:08 “If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.” (9:40)

0:15 A word mentioned by the Noble Qur'an.

0:18 Inscribed eternally in the Wise Remembrance.

0:22 Unlike any other word spoken by the Prophet in the cave or during the journey of the Hijrah.

0:27 To remain a beacon on the brow of time, lighting the path for optimistic believers.

0:33 A secure refuge providing reassurance whenever grief or fear strikes.

0:39 Who said it, and to whom was it said?

0:43 Where was it said, and on what occasion?

0:48 Grasping the answers to these questions,

0:52 Reveals the sublimity of that trust in Allah,

0:55 The greatness of the soul that uttered it,

0:59 And the lofty spiritual station attained by its speaker,

1:04 Who made light of every threat,

1:07 And deemed all hostile forces insignificant in the presence of Allah.

1:12 Our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said it,

1:18 To his companion Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, in the cave,

1:22 While the polytheists stood at its entrance searching for them.

1:27 The noble Prophet said it,

1:29 While the polytheists of Quraysh burned with rage against him,

1:33 Seeking his head, whether alive or dead,

1:37 And offering a bounty for it.

1:40 Many of them scoured every path in pursuit,

1:44 Coveting that prize.

1:48 Until the footsteps of some reached the very mouth of the cave.

1:52 Yet, he spoke that resolute word,

1:56 With death gaping wide before him,

1:59 And nothing between him and it but a few steps,

2:03 Or rather, a single glance from the seeker to the sought,

2:07 From above to below,

2:09 Sufficient to end the search,

2:12 And secure the prize.

2:14 The situation in that dire moment,

2:18 With the search having reached the cave's entrance,

2:21 Was as the poet said,

2:23 Who saw the execution mat and the sword meant for his killing:

2:26 "I see death lurking between the sword and the mat,

2:30 Watching me from wherever I turn."

2:34 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, spoke,

2:37 That word to the Greatest Siddiq,

2:40 When he saw him fearing for him,

2:43 And perceived that the enemies had reached the mouth of the cave.

2:47 For in the two Sahih collections,

2:50 On the authority of Anas Ibn Malik,

2:52 That Abu Bakr al-Siddiq narrated to him, saying:

2:55 "I looked at the feet of the polytheists above our heads,

2:59 While we were in the cave,

3:01 And I said, 'O Messenger of Allah,

3:03 If one of them were to look down at his feet,

3:07 He would see us beneath them.'

3:09 He replied:

3:11 'O Abu Bakr,

3:13 What is your thought regarding two,

3:15 Of whom Allah is the third?'"

3:17 In a narration by al-Bukhari:

3:21 "I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in the cave,

3:25 And I raised my head,

3:27 Only to see the feet of the people.

3:30 I said, 'O Prophet of Allah,

3:32 If one of them were to look down, he would see us.'

3:36 He said:

3:38 'Be silent, O Abu Bakr,

3:40 We are two, and Allah is the third.'"

3:43 Also in the two Sahih collections,

3:46 Abu Bakr said:

3:48 "Suraqah Ibn Malik followed us."

3:50 He said:

3:52 "We were in a state of great distress,

3:54 So I said, 'O Messenger of Allah,

3:56 We have been caught.'

3:58 He said:

3:59 'Do not grieve,

4:01 For Allah is with us.'"

4:03 In a narration by al-Bukhari:

4:05 He said:

4:06 "None of them caught up with us,

4:08 Except Suraqah Ibn Malik Ibn Ju'shum,

4:11 On a horse of his.

4:13 I said,

4:15 'This pursuer has caught up with us,

4:17 O Messenger of Allah.'

4:19 He said:

4:20 'Do not grieve,

4:21 For Allah is with us.'"

4:23 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade,

4:26 Abu Bakr from grief,

4:28 Which implies a prohibition against fear,

4:31 And he provided the reason for him,

4:33 That there was a great barrier against it,

4:36 Which is the presence of Allah’s special companionship,

4:40 Which necessitates protection and victory.

4:43 So whoever attains the companionship of Allah,

4:47 Let him feel secure in his fear,

4:50 And find happiness in his grief.

4:52 Thereby, the terror of fears will be lightened for him,

4:56 And the heavy burden of sorrows and calamities.

5:00 One of the salaf wrote to a brother of his:

5:03 "To proceed:

5:05 If Allah is with you,

5:07 Whom do you fear?

5:09 And if He is against you,

5:11 In whom do you hope?"

5:13 When Musa, peace be upon him, attained,

5:15 This supreme strength,

5:17 Which is the special companionship of Allah,

5:20 He confronted Pharaoh,

5:22 The one of oppression and tyranny,

5:24 Just as Allah said to him and his brother Harun:

5:28 "Do not fear."

5:30 “He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing.” (20:46)

5:33 And when he went out with his people,

5:35 With the enemy behind him and the sea before him,

5:39 And his people said to him,

5:41 "When the two groups saw each other,"

5:44 The companions of Musa said:

5:46 "We are surely overtaken."

5:48 He replied to them, saying:

5:50 "He said, 'No!'"

5:52 “He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me.” (26:62)

5:55 So, O you who suffer in the depths of fear,

5:59 Who ache in the grip of grief,

6:02 Strive to be among the people of:

6:05 "Allah is with us,"

6:07 "Indeed, my Lord is with me,"

6:10 And you will find there security and solace.

6:13 The closest path to that lofty goal,

6:17 Is the realization of the fear of Allah (taqwa).

6:19 For whoever is mindful of Allah,

6:22 Attains the companionship of Allah for himself.

6:25 Allah the Exalted says:

6:27 "And fear Allah,

6:29 And know that Allah is with the righteous."

6:32 Reflect on what Allah said to His Messenger during certain hardships,

6:38 What He commanded him and forbade him,

6:41 And what He gave him glad tidings of.

6:43 Allah the Exalted says:

6:45 “Endure thou patiently (O Muhammad). Thine endurance is only by (the help of) Allah. Grieve not for them, and be not in distress because of that which they devise.” (16:127)

6:50 "And do not grieve over them,

6:53 And do not be in distress from what they plot."

6:58 “Lo! Allah is with those who keep their duty unto Him and those who are doers of good.” (16:128)

7:03 "And those who are doers of good."

7:07 The closest path to achieving taqwa,

7:12 Is performing the commands and avoiding the prohibitions,

7:15 And stopping at the limits set by Allah.

7:18 Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated with a hasan sahih chain,

7:22 The statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:

7:26 "Be mindful of Allah, and He will protect you;

7:28 Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him before you."

7:31 Ibn Rajab said:

7:33 "Its meaning is that whoever observes the limits of Allah and respects His rights,

7:38 Will find Allah with him in all his states, wherever he turns,

7:43 Protecting him and granting him victory,

7:45 Preserving him, guiding him, and directing him aright.

7:48 For Allah is with those who fear Him,

7:51 And those who are doers of good."

7:54 Qatadah said:

7:57 "Whoever fears Allah, He will be with him,

8:00 And whoever has Allah with him,

8:02 Has with him the faction that cannot be defeated,

8:05 The Guardian who does not sleep,

8:08 And the Guide who does not err."

8:11 Be with Allah, and you will see Allah with you;

8:14 Abandon all else, and beware of your own greed;

8:17 And hold fast to contentment with what you have,

8:20 In all the universe, until it suffices you.
