Who passed away in the year 450 AH.

Know that knowledge is the noblest thing one can aspire to,

The most excellent thing a seeker can pursue and find,

And the most beneficial thing an earner can acquire and possess.

For its nobility bears fruit for its possessor,

And its excellence grows for its seeker.

If one were to weigh the desires and riches of this world,

Knowledge would be the noblest, the foremost, and the crown among them.

For wealth is inferior to it,

Status cannot parallel its beauty,

And worldly travels cannot compare to its pleasure and splendor.

How then could the majestic be equated with the meager,

The beautiful with the base,

Or the sublime with the lowly?

Allah the Exalted said:

“O ye who believe! when it is said unto you, Make room! in assemblies, then make room; Allah will make way for you (hereafter). And when it is said, Come up higher! go up higher; Allah will exalt those who believe among you, and those who have knowledge, to high ranks. Allah is Informed of what ye do.” (58:11)

The purification of the soul and mankind,

Benefiting all of creation,

Displacing ignorance,

Repelling the devils and their followers,

Attaining glory and civilization,

Achieving one's desires and rising in rank,

Outstripping enemies and adversaries,

Understanding life and its lessons,

And its fundamental laws.

And these are the parables We present to the people.

“As for these similitudes, We coin them for mankind, but none will grasp their meaning save the wise.” (29:43)
