Who passed away in the year 360 AH.

Scholars are the lamps for the servants of Allah,

The beacons of the lands,

The pillars of the Ummah,

And the springs of wisdom.

Through them, the hearts of the people of truth are brought to life,

And the hearts of the people of deviation wither away.

Their lives are a bounty,

And their deaths are a calamity.

They remind the heedless,

They teach the ignorant,

And through their beautiful exhortations, those who fall short return to the right path.

All of creation is in need of their knowledge.

Whoever obeys them is rightly guided,

And whoever disobeys them goes astray.

Their likeness on earth is like the stars in the sky,

By which one finds guidance in the darkness of land and sea.

If the stars were to be extinguished, people would be lost.

This is the radiant truth regarding the attributes of scholars and their legacy,

And their excellent service to all of creation.

For they are the lamps for the servants of Allah and the beacons of the lands.

Through them comes light and preparation,

Radiance and strength,

Guidance and the warding off of ruin.

They are the pillars of the Ummah and the springs of wisdom.

No Ummah can prosper without scholars,

Nor can it be honored without jurists.

They preserve its glory,

They protect its heritage,

And they spread within it wisdom and knowledge,

Benefit and guidance.

Through them, the hearts of the people of faith are brought to life,

While the hearts of the people of tyranny are wretched.

Their lives are a bounty,

And their passing is a calamity.

Their words are exhortations for the heedless,

A warning for the ignorant,

And a source of steadfastness for the righteous,

Because their words are derived from the guidance of the Book and the Sunnah,

And the sayings of the noble salaf.

In their beautiful preaching lies benefit, guidance, and influence.

Obeying them is an act of obedience to Allah,

So long as they remain God-fearing and sincere,

And are certain of the signs of Allah.

They are the lanterns of the earth,

Just as the stars are for the sky,

Bringing light, guidance, and right direction.

People benefit from them,

And all of creation finds its way through them.

Were it not for them, the religion and the truth would not be known,

Nor would the proofs and evidences be manifest.

People are only left in confusion upon their absence and death.

That is why their death is a calamity for the Ummah,

And a breach in Islam.

And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
