The writer’s pen can be more piercing than the warrior’s sword.

And His abundant gift of every goodness, virtue, and benefit.

Through it, volumes and thoughts have been preserved.

Through it, Allah has safeguarded their affairs and matters.

Through which the interests of the servants were upheld in this life and the Hereafter.

Through it, kingdoms were stabilized.

Through it, paths and routes were secured.

It stands among the people as the most eloquent and articulate orator.

The most beneficial and sincere to them.

A preacher whose sermons heal hearts of their ailments.

A physician who, by His permission, cures various kinds of pain.

It breaks great armies.

Even though it is the solitary weak thing.

Yet even the most formidable are fearful of its power and reach.

By pens, regions are governed.

And kingdoms are administered.

The pen is the tongue of the conscience.

It whispers to it what is hidden from the ears.

It weaves the garments of meaning into both sides.

Returning more beautiful than embroidered silk.

It entrusts it with wisdom.

Becoming the sparks of understanding.

Pens are the order of intellects.

And just as the tongue is the messenger of the heart.

The pen is the messenger of the tongue.

The audible letters are born from the tongue.

Through it, Allah defeats a lurking enemy.

And grants victory to a religion and elevates an Ummah.
