0:45 A person is able to interact with others
0:48 According to their temperaments and their inherent natures.
0:51 A mineral is that which is firmly established in the earth,
0:54 As is well known.
0:56 And we all know that minerals—
0:58 Some are precious,
1:00 And some are base.
1:02 Likewise, people are like minerals.
1:05 For among people are those whose nature is precious,
1:08 And among people are those whose nature is base.
1:11 Preciousness and baseness in the nature of people
1:14 Have no relation to lineage, status, tribe, or nation.
1:19 Rather, the preciousness or baseness of people
1:22 Is measured by what they possess of piety and religion,
1:25 And the fear of Allah,
1:27 And adherence to the rulings of Islam,
1:29 And the noble character and virtues they embody,
1:33 Such as chastity, forbearance, and chivalry,
1:35 And other praiseworthy traits.
1:38 The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was asked:
1:41 "Who is the most noble of people?"
1:43 He said, "The most noble of them is the most pious."
1:46 They said, "O Prophet of Allah,
1:48 It is not about this that we ask you."
1:50 He said, "Then the most noble of people is Yusuf, the Prophet of Allah,
1:54 The son of the Prophet of Allah,
1:56 The son of the Prophet of Allah,
1:58 The son of the Friend of Allah."
2:00 They said, "It is not about this that we ask you."
2:03 He said, "Are you asking me about the minerals of the Arabs?"
2:07 They said, "Yes."
2:09 He said, "The best of you in the Age of Ignorance
2:12 Are the best of you in Islam, if they attain understanding."
2:15 Indeed, the Noble Qur'an
2:17 Has categorized people and defined their natures.
2:20 For example, Surat al-Baqarah,
2:22 Which is the longest surah of the Qur'an,
2:25 Divided people into three categories:
2:28 Groups that believe in Allah,
2:30 Others who are disbelievers,
2:32 And a third group that is confused, hesitant, and deceptive—
2:36 They are the hypocrites.
2:38 As mentioned in the same surah,
2:40 There is a clarification that people are like minerals.
2:43 For the Almighty said:
2:45 “Yet of mankind are some who take unto themselves (objects of worship which they set as) rivals to Allah, loving them with a love like (that which is the due) of Allah (only) - those who believe are stauncher in their love for Allah - Oh, that those who do evil had but known, (on the day) when they behold the doom, that power belongeth wholly to Allah, and that Allah is severe in punishment!” (2:165)

3:59 So that joy may embrace you.
4:03 Attach your soul to your Lord,
4:07 And fill the surroundings with light.
4:11 Everyone who obeys the Lord
4:14 Dissolves into the sweetest of feelings.
4:18 Darkness, then light,
4:22 And revelation follows it.
4:26 If Allah wills a thing,
4:30 He says to it, "Be," and it is.
