0:24 By Sheikh Usama Bahr.

0:26 May Allah preserve him.

0:28 Whoever obeys the Lord dissolves into the sweetest of feelings.

0:35 The heavy-laden date palm for Abu al-Dahdah.

0:38 There was, in the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him,

0:44 an orphaned boy.

0:46 He had an orchard adjacent to the orchard of a man.

0:49 The boy wanted to build a wall,

0:52 but a date palm belonging to the man stood in the way of this wall.

0:56 So he went to him and said,

0:58 "O my brother,

1:00 you have many date palms in your orchard,

1:03 so it would not harm you to give me this palm tree that obstructs my wall."

1:08 The man replied,

1:09 "No, by Allah, I will not give you the palm tree."

1:12 He then said, "Sell it to me."

1:14 The man replied,

1:15 "No, by Allah, I will not do any of that."

1:18 So this orphan went to the Prophet, peace be upon him,

1:22 and said,

1:23 "O Messenger of Allah,

1:25 my orchard is next to the orchard of so-and-so,

1:28 and I wanted to build a wall,

1:31 but a palm tree belonging to this man obstructed me, and he refused me."

1:35 "So intercede for me with him, perhaps he will give me the palm tree."

1:39 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said,

1:41 "Call him."

1:42 When the man came,

1:44 the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to him,

1:47 "Give this palm tree to your brother."

1:49 He said, "No."

1:51 He repeated the request to him three times,

1:53 and the man refused.

1:55 Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, said,

1:57 "Give him the palm tree,

1:59 and you shall have a palm tree in Paradise for it."

2:02 The man said, "No."

2:04 Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, fell silent.

2:07 Abu al-Dahdah stood up when he heard this offer,

2:10 and said,

2:11 "O Messenger of Allah,

2:13 what do you think if I bought this man's palm tree

2:16 and then gave it to the orphan?

2:18 Would I have a palm tree in Paradise?"

2:21 He said, "Yes."

2:22 So Abu al-Dahdah offered his own orchard,

2:25 which contained six hundred palm trees, a well, and a house.

2:28 Abu al-Dahdah said,

2:30 "O owner of the palm tree,

2:32 do you know my orchard?"

2:34 He replied, "Yes, I know it.

2:36 Who could be ignorant of it?

2:38 Your orchard has excellent dates."

2:41 He said,

2:42 "O so-and-so,

2:43 take my entire orchard and all that is in it,

2:46 and give me this palm tree."

2:48 The man turned to the people and said,

2:51 "Do you bear witness to this sale?"

2:53 They said, "Yes."

2:54 The man said,

2:56 "Yes, I have taken the orchard and given you the palm tree."

3:00 Abu al-Dahdah turned to the orphan and said,

3:03 "O so-and-so, the palm tree is yours from me;

3:06 take it."

3:08 Then Abu al-Dahdah turned to the Prophet, peace be upon him,

3:12 and said,

3:13 "O Messenger of Allah,

3:15 do I now have a palm tree in Paradise?"

3:18 The Prophet, peace be upon him, said,

3:20 "How many heavy-laden date palms does Abu al-Dahdah have in Paradise!"

3:25 Then Abu al-Dahdah went out to his family to bring them out of the orchard.

3:29 He said,

3:31 "O Umm al-Dahdah, I have sold the orchard."

3:34 She asked,

3:35 "How did you sell the orchard?"

3:37 He said,

3:38 "I sold it to my Lord for a palm tree in Paradise."

3:41 She said,

3:43 "A profitable trade, O Abu al-Dahdah!"

3:46 Then she took her children and led them out of the orchard gate.

3:50 She then searched their pockets,

3:52 and whoever had any fruit with them, she took it out,

3:56 placed it back in the orchard,

3:58 and said,

3:59 "This is not ours;

4:01 this belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds."

4:46 Whatever Allah commands, He brings to pass.
