5:08 I seek guidance and truth

5:23 When Mecca became narrow to them despite its spaciousness

5:35 There is a king in the land of Abyssinia

5:38 No one is wronged by him

5:41 So they joined his country and took refuge in Hama

5:44 Until God gives you relief from your affairs

5:47 He will prepare a way out for you from your distress

5:50 The first immigrants departed

5:53 To the land of Abyssinia

5:56 They were eighty men and women

5:59 They tasted security for the first time

6:02 And stability

6:06 Without disturbing the peace of their worship

6:12 Their faith is troubled

6:16 But the Quraysh hardly knew of his departure

6:19 This group of eighty Muslims

10:01 They greeted him with the Islamic greeting

10:28 From a religion and you left because of it

10:31 The religion of your people, and you have not entered into my religion

10:34 So Jaafar bin Abi Talib asked his permission

10:37 He said, O king

10:40 We did not create a religion for ourselves

10:44 We were a people of ignorance

10:47 We worship idols and cut off family ties

10:50 We eat dead animals and commit immoral acts

10:53 We are bad neighbors

10:56 The strong among us oppress the weak

10:59 We have remained as we are

11:02 Until God sent to us a messenger from among us

11:05 We know his lineage and trust his honesty

11:08 We know the same

11:11 We know his lineage and trust his honesty

11:14 His honesty and chastity

11:17 So he called us to God and commanded us

11:20 By worshiping him and uniting him

11:23 He urged us to perform prayer

11:26 Paying zakat and fasting during Ramadan

11:29 And to cast off what we used to worship

11:32 Of stones and idols

11:35 He also commanded us to speak truthfully

11:39 He forbade us from committing immoral acts

11:42 Speak falsehood and consume the orphan’s wealth

11:45 So we believed him and believed in his message

11:48 We followed what he brought

11:51 And He made us worship God alone, without partners

11:54 We forbade what was forbidden to us

11:57 We made lawful what we made lawful

12:00 None of our people were enemies against us

12:03 They inflicted on us the most severe torment

12:06 To tempt us from our religion

12:09 They bring us back to idol worship

12:12 After we worshiped the One Judge

12:15 When they oppressed us and wronged us

12:18 And they narrowed down on us

12:21 They came between us and our religion

12:24 We wanted to seek refuge next to you

12:27 And stay in your homes

12:30 We chose you over anyone else

12:39 On the authority of his Lord, he said yes

12:42 He said, so he read it to him

12:45 So he recited to him part of Surat Maryam

12:48 Among what he read was the saying of God Almighty

15:12 By God, we will meet the Negus tomorrow

15:15 I will tell him something new about them

15:25 Don't do that, Omar, for they have us

15:28 Have mercy on us, even if they differ from us

15:31 He said, “By God, I will tell him.”

15:34 They said something about Jesus bin Maryam

15:47 Omar looked at the Negus and said

15:50 O king, I have heard you

16:05 Jaafar bin Abi Talib said to him

16:20 And His Messenger and His Word that He delivered

16:26 The Negus said, “By God.”

18:14 Then he bundled the parchment on his chest

18:17 He wore a cloak over it

18:20 They went on to meet those who opposed him

18:23 When tomorrow came before them

18:26 He called them saying

18:29 O people of Abyssinia, how did you see my behavior among you?

18:32 They said it is the best course of action

18:35 He said: Who provoked you against me?

18:38 They said, “You have left our religion.”

18:41 She claimed that Jesus was a slave

18:44 He said: What do you say about Jesus?

18:47 They said, “He is the Son of God.”

18:50 So he put his hand on his hat

18:53 He placed it on the parchment and said

18:56 I bear witness that Jesus did not do more than that

18:59 This is nothing

19:02 It means what was written on the parchment

19:05 They were pleased with what he said

19:08 They left satisfied and reassured

19:13 The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood

19:16 According to what happened between the Negus and his people

19:19 His greatest care is for Muslims who

19:22 They immigrated to his homeland

19:25 They were reassured by his neighbourhood

19:28 His belief in the validity of what is stated in the Qur’an

19:31 Then the prayer began to deepen

19:34 Between him and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him

19:40 In the first month of the seventh year of the Hijra
