0:12 Calling unto Allah, Mighty and Majestic, entails two things:

0:28 Sincerely devoting the call to Allah Almighty,

1:49 Consequently, spiritual defeat never occurs

1:53 so long as Islam fills the heart and conscience,

1:56 even if outward defeat may occur at times.

2:01 Allah Almighty says:

2:03 “He sendeth down water from the sky, so that valleys flow according to their measure, and the flood beareth (on its surface) swelling foam - from that which they smelt in the fire in order to make ornaments and tools riseth a foam like unto it - thus Allah coineth (the similitude of) the true and the false. Then, as for the foam, it passeth away as scum upon the banks, while, as for that which is of use to mankind, it remaineth in the earth. Thus Allah coineth the similitudes.” (13:17)

2:19 The enemies' war against this religion

2:23 is an ideological war and a divine law.

2:26 The enemies fight the religion of Islam

2:30 because of the sublime, pristine characteristics it possesses,

2:34 for it comes from Allah Almighty,

2:37 and its starting point is the monotheism of the Lord of the worlds.

2:40 For this reason, its enemies wage this abominable war against it:

2:45 because it stands in their way,

2:48 obstructing them from their exploitative ambitions,

2:51 as well as hindering them from tyranny, arrogance, and playing god on earth,

2:54 and enslaving people as they desire.

2:57 Therefore, they launch against its people

3:00 campaigns of suppression and extermination,

3:03 just as they launch campaigns of distortion,

3:06 obfuscation, and deception against it.

3:10 Islam will inevitably prevail.

3:13 Islam is mighty and supreme over all religions.

3:18 If one people neglect it,

3:21 Allah will clothe another people with it who will champion it.

3:24 Allah Almighty says:

3:26 “Lo! ye are those who are called to spend in the way of Allah, yet among you there are some who hoard. And as for him who hoardeth, he hoardeth only from his soul. And Allah is the Rich, and ye are the poor. And if ye turn away He will exchange you for some other folk, and they will not be the likes of you.” (47:38)

3:30 “Lo! ye are those who are called to spend in the way of Allah, yet among you there are some who hoard. And as for him who hoardeth, he hoardeth only from his soul. 4:30 The renewers are the godly scholars

5:00 Renewing religious discourse

5:04 is a cunning call

5:07 aimed at altering the religion and its contents,

5:11 and creating a new religion,

5:13 which they claim is required by the changing times.

5:18 Yet the religion of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, needs no one to add to it or subtract from it,

5:24 for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, completed it with His saying:

5:27 “Forbidden unto you (for food) are carrion and blood and swineflesh, and that which hath been dedicated unto any other than Allah, and the strangled, and the dead through beating, and the dead through falling from a height, and that which hath been killed by (the goring of) horns, and the devoured of wild beasts, saving that which ye make lawful (by the death-stroke), and that which hath been immolated unto idols. And (forbidden is it) that ye swear by the divining arrows. This is an abomination. This day are those who disbelieve in despair of (ever harming) your religion; so fear them not, fear Me! This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour unto you, and have chosen for you as religion al-Islam. Whoso is forced by hunger, not by will, to sin: (for him) lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (5:3)

5:35 Rather, the actual need

5:37 is to return people to the Book of Allah Almighty and the Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,

5:44 and to revive what has fallen into disuse among them;

5:46 this is the task of the renewers in this Ummah.

5:51 Opposing and fighting the truth

5:55 actually strengthens it and introduces people to it.

5:58 Indeed, when the truth is denied, exposed to misconceptions,

6:03 or targeted by those who wish to extinguish it,

6:06 Allah Almighty appoints that which establishes the truth and manifests it to the people,

6:11 nullifying falsehood through clear signs,

6:15 and by displaying the evidence and proofs of truth

6:19 along with the invalidity of the opposing refutations and false misconceptions.

6:24 This is a observable phenomenon,

6:26 as people come to know aspects of the truth

6:30 when falsehood combats it

6:33 that they would not have known prior to this struggle.

6:36 In fact, those who adhere to the truth before the struggle

6:40 experience a strengthening in their belonging, resistance, and adherence to the truth

6:44 whenever the millstone of battle turns between truth and falsehood.

6:49 Islam is a global and humanitarian religion.

6:54 Allah Almighty says: "It is but a reminder to the worlds."

7:00 Thus, the call of Islam knows no national borders, racism,

7:05 nationalism, or tribalism,

7:08 nor does it recognize artificial barriers

7:11 that people erect for themselves on earth,

7:14 or that are erected for them and over which they fight.

7:18 It is a call that divides people solely on the basis of piety (taqwa),

7:23 and does not divide them by colors or ethnicities,

7:27 but rather penetrates directly into their hearts from the standpoint of humanity qua humanity.

7:34 “O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware.” (49:13)

7:40 "And We made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another..."

8:27 and brotherhood based on religion, faith, and disbelief,

8:31 because these—according to their claim—cause division and destroy peace among human beings.

8:38 Idealistic Realism in Islam

8:43 Islam addresses the human being according to his actual reality,

8:48 and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, knows best whom He created.

8:52 “Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware.” (67:14)

8:56 He knows the limits of man's capacity, his demands, and his necessities,

9:01 He knows what benefits him and what harms him,

9:05 and He knows his weakness in the face of temptations.

9:08 Thus, the religion of Islam is a realistic religion,

9:12 while simultaneously being ideal, pure, and balanced,

9:16 in which you see no flaw, disparity, contradiction,

9:21 nor the favoring of one aspect over another.

9:24 He, Glorified be He, says:

9:26 “Will they not then ponder on the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah they would have found therein much incongruity.” (4:82)

9:32 And He, Mighty and Majestic, says: "Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable."

9:38 Because it is from Allah,

9:41 its rulings and beliefs have come both idealistic and realistic.

9:46 Realism in jahili convention

9:51 means abandoning ideals, high beliefs, and morals,

9:57 under the pretext that they are unrealistic and unapplicable.

10:03 Thus, man is left to his instincts and desires,

10:06 under the pretext that this is his reality.

10:10 Realism in jahili thought also means

10:13 seeking benefit by whatever means it comes,

10:17 and sidelining ethics from all dealings,

10:20 whether in the realm of politics, economics,

10:24 or social and family relations.

10:28 Realism according to them also means

10:31 total devotion to worldly life,

10:34 under the pretext of building it, while turning away from the Hereafter and disbelieving in it,

10:39 or rejecting it as an unseen matter that an advanced mind should not

10:44 believe in or sacrifice the splendor of the world,

10:48 its pleasures, and its desires for its sake.

10:53 The Realistic Movement of This Religion and Its Seriousness

10:57 Since the religion of Islam is a realistic yet ideal religion,

11:02 owing to its divine origin from Allah, Mighty and Majestic,

11:05 it is therefore a religion of seriousness and decisive judgment, not of idle jest.

11:10 It confronts human reality with means adequate to its actual existence.

11:16 The movement of this religion

11:18 has confronted and continues to confront an ideological, conceptual jahiliyyah

11:23 sustained by real-world systems

11:26 backed by authorities possessing material power.

11:30 Consequently, the serious realism of this religion

11:34 confronts these forms of jahiliyyah through dawah and clear exposition

11:38 to correct beliefs, concepts, and perceptions,

11:42 while preparing the necessary means to confront them with strength and jihad

11:46 in order to remove those barriers that stand between people and understanding this religion,

11:52 and subsequently embracing it once it reaches them clearly,

11:56 without compelling them to do so.

11:59 Thus, the serious movement of this religion does not content itself with mere exposition in the face of material power,

12:06 nor does it employ coercion and force over people's hearts.

12:11 The seriousness of this religion dictates that its movement proceed in stages,

12:17 each stage possessing means adequate to its practical needs.

12:22 Each stage hands over to the next:

12:26 from the stage of "restrain your hands," to the permission for jihad, to its obligation,

12:31 culminating in the Verse of the Sword.

12:34 Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah Almighty have mercy on him, says:

12:39 "The maintenance of the religion is established by the guiding Book and the supporting iron,"

12:44 as Allah Almighty mentioned.

12:46 Thus, everyone must strive to align the Qur'an and iron for the sake of Allah,

12:52 seeking what is with Him while relying upon Allah in that endeavor.

12:57 Moderation (Wasatiyyah) in This Religion

13:01 Allah Almighty says:

13:04 “Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you. And We appointed the qiblah which ye formerly observed only that We might know him who followeth the messenger, from him who turneth on his heels. In truth it was a hard (test) save for those whom Allah guided. But it was not Allah's purpose that your faith should be in vain, for Allah is Full of Pity, Merciful toward mankind.” (2:143)

13:11 Moderation is a prominent characteristic of this religion across all its domains,

13:17 because it is from Allah Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Aware.

13:21 Shar'i moderation

13:23 means justice, excellence, and balance between the two extremes of excess and neglect.

13:29 The people of Islam are moderate regarding monotheism and the messengers, between the extremism of the Christians and the harshness of the Jews.

13:36 Ahl al-Sunnah are moderate between the extremist and the negligent among the people of innovation:

13:41 they are moderate in matters of faith and disbelief between the Kharijites and the Murji'ites,

13:47 and moderate in matters of the Divine Attributes between the deniers (Nufat) and the assimilators (Mushabbihah),

13:52 and likewise across the rest of the chapters of creed, ethics, and acts of worship.

13:58 In short, the concept of moderation in Islam means steadfastness upon the command of Allah.

14:08 The Misconceived Notion of Moderation

14:11 Today, moderation and balance are put forward

14:14 in opposition to adhering to this religion and its definitive principles.

14:18 Watering down and compromising on the established facts of this religion are viewed as moderation,

14:24 while adhering to it and its definitive principles is viewed as extremism and a violation of moderation.

14:29 This is a false understanding that departs from the Shar'i intent of moderation, as we have explained.

14:36 Calling unto Allah Almighty inevitably requires expending effort and making sacrifices.

14:45 Thus Allah, Mighty and Majestic, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise, decreed it;

14:49 had He, Glorified be He, willed, this religion would have spread without proselytization or sacrifice.

14:55 However, Allah Almighty did not intend that, due to sublime wisdoms.

15:00 He, Glorified be He, says: "That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them..."

15:06 “Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain.” (47:4)

15:10 Indeed, the seriousness, purpose, and grandeur of this religion

15:14 It deserves every sacrifice and every arduous effort made for its sake.

15:18 Why call people to Allah, the Almighty and Majestic?

15:23 Calling people to Allah the Exalted is an obligation upon the Muslims.

15:28 This is because it achieves several objectives, most importantly:

15:32 First, the caller achieves a specific form of servitude to Allah the Exalted.

15:38 For the call to Him is like other acts of worship that Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, loves.

15:44 Indeed, the call is a means by which one worships Allah, the Almighty and Majestic.

15:48 It is not accepted by Allah, the Glorified,

15:51 unless the two conditions of worship are met:

15:54 Sincerity to Allah and following the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, in that call.

16:01 As the Almighty said:

16:03 “Say: This is my Way: I call on Allah with sure knowledge. I and whosoever followeth me - Glory be to Allah! - and I am not of the idolaters.” (12:108)

16:10 Second:

16:11 Seeking the reward and recompense from Allah, the Almighty and Majestic.

16:15 For the call to Allah is among the most righteous of deeds and the best of actions and words.

16:21 As Allah the Almighty said:

16:23 “And who is better in speech than him who prayeth unto his Lord and doeth right, and saith: Lo! I am of those who are muslims (surrender unto Him).” (41:33)

16:29 “And who is better in speech than him who prayeth unto his Lord and doeth right, and saith: Lo! I am of those who are muslims (surrender unto Him).” (41:33)

16:33 Allah has promised the believers, both male and female, that if they perform righteous deeds,

16:38 He will grant them a good life,

16:41 and they will enter Paradise, where they will be provided for without measure.

16:45 The Almighty said:

16:47 “Whosoever doeth right, whether male or female, and is a believer, him verily we shall quicken with good life, and We shall pay them a recompense in proportion to the best of what they used to do.” (16:97)

17:02 And the Almighty and Majestic said:

17:04 “Whoso doeth an ill-deed, he will be repaid the like thereof, while whoso doeth right, whether male or female, and is a believer, (all) such will enter the Garden, where they will be nourished without stint.” (40:40)

17:15 Third:

17:17 Bringing those whom Allah wills out of the worship of created beings into the worship of Him alone, with no partner.

17:24 And saving them, by His permission, the Glorified, from misery in this world and from the punishment of the Hereafter.

17:32 Returning the innovator to the Sunnah,

17:35 and the corrupt sinner to the obedience of Allah, the Glorified.

17:40 The dominance of Islam over all else.

17:44 The religion of Islam is the only religion that Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, accepts from people.

17:52 He does not accept any religion other than it after the message of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

17:59 It is a creed and a law upon which the lives of people must be established.

18:05 “And whoso seeketh as religion other than the Surrender (to Allah) it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the Hereafter.” (3:85)

18:14 Humanity will not be rectified nor will it be set straight,

18:17 unless it is established upon the methodology of this religion alone, and nothing else.

18:22 A Muslim’s conviction to the point of certainty in all that has preceded

18:26 is what drives him to shoulder the burden of striving to implement the methodology of Allah that He has chosen for mankind,

18:33 in the face of arduous obstacles, stubborn resistance, and the plotting and arrogance of His enemies.

18:41 The call to the religion of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, is a call to the happiness of humanity.

18:49 This religion is the religion of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, who knows what is best for His servants.

18:56 Therefore, it is a pure and sublime religion in its concepts, laws, and morals.

19:03 It came for the rectification of this world and the Hereafter,

19:06 not as the liars and hypocrites among the secularists and liberals claim,

19:12 that religion is the cause of backwardness.

19:15 “(A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.” (18:5)

19:22 No one knows the truth of this religion or its purity,

19:26 and that it guides to that which is most upright,

19:29 except for one who understands it as it came from Allah, the Almighty and Majestic,

19:34 and then looks at the ignorant human cultures, the base concepts,

19:40 and the degenerate behavior in which they live.

19:43 For things are known by their opposites.

19:48 The Leading Ummah.

19:50 Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has chosen the Ummah of Islam to lead humanity,

19:56 after the People of the Book failed,

19:59 betrayed their covenants, and altered the Book of their Lord.

20:03 The Almighty said:

20:05 “Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers.” (3:110)

20:32 leads nations toward the correct concept, the correct character, and the correct system and law.

20:40 And in all these correct conditions,

20:43 minds grow and life develops,

20:46 hearts open up and learn about this universe and its secrets,

20:51 and its powers, energies, and resources are harnessed to improve life and spread goodness within it.

20:58 This leadership

21:00 requires its people to be wary of following any methodology other than this divine one,

21:05 especially following the People of the Book, those who have earned [Allah's] anger and those who are astray,

21:10 because in following them lies disbelief and the misery of this world and the Hereafter.

21:15 The Almighty said:

21:17 “O ye who believe! If ye obey a party of those who have received the Scripture they will make you disbelievers after your belief.” (3:100)

21:28 “How can ye disbelieve, when it is ye unto whom Allah's revelations are recited, and His messenger is in your midst? He who holdeth fast to Allah, he indeed is guided unto a right path.” (3:101)

21:34 “How can ye disbelieve, when it is ye unto whom Allah's revelations are recited, and His messenger is in your midst? He who holdeth fast to Allah, he indeed is guided unto a right path.” (3:101)

21:41 The Insightful Leadership and the Leadership of the Blind.

21:47 Human life on earth cannot be rectified unless it is managed by insightful leaders

21:55 who walk upon the guidance of Allah alone,

21:58 and who shape all of life according to His methodology, guidance, and law.

22:03 Woe, and all woe, to humanity

22:06 if it is led by misguided, blind leaders

22:11 who do not know that what was revealed to Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the truth alone.

22:17 It is either that humanity is led by insightful leaders upon the truth,

22:22 or it is blindness and misguidance when it is led by the blind and the people of disbelief and error.

22:28 They are not equal in the scale of Allah the Exalted.

22:33 The Glorified said:

22:35 “Is he who knoweth that what is revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the truth like him who is blind? But only men of understanding heed;” (13:19)

22:42 Only those of understanding take heed.

22:46 The blind and the sighted in the scale of the Qur'an.

22:52 The blind in the scale of Allah the Exalted

22:55 is the disbeliever who does not know that what was revealed to the Messenger, peace be upon him, is the truth.

23:03 Because the blind in reality is the one whose heart is blind.

23:07 And the sighted is the one who is guided to the truth.

23:10 The Almighty said:

23:13 “The similitude of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seer and the hearer. Are they equal in similitude? Will ye not then be admonished?” (11:24)

23:19 “The similitude of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seer and the hearer. Are they equal in similitude? Will ye not then be admonished?” (11:24)

23:23 According to this scale, people are of two types:

23:27 The sighted, for they know, and the blind, for they do not know the truth,

23:33 or they know it but do not submit to it.

23:36 This is the testimony of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, regarding them.

23:41 The misery of humanity when it is led by the blind.

23:49 Humanity has suffered throughout its long history,

23:53 stumbling between various methodologies, conditions, and laws

23:58 under the leadership of the blind who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers.

24:02 This humanity has not found peace and happiness

24:05 except when its affairs were managed by believing, insightful leaders

24:10 who governed it with the law of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic,

24:13 and His strong, pure, balanced, and comprehensive methodology.

24:19 From whom should one receive guidance?

24:23 Once the reality of blindness and insight becomes clear,

24:27 and it becomes clear who among them are the sighted and who are the blind in reality,

24:32 then it is not permissible for a Muslim who claims to believe in Allah, the Almighty and Majestic,

24:38 and His Messenger, peace be upon him,

24:41 and believes that this Qur'an is revelation from Allah,

24:45 it is not permissible for him to take guidance in any of life's affairs from a blind person,

24:51 especially if this matter relates to the system that governs human life,

24:58 or to the values and standards upon which his life is established.

25:02 And the wonder of all wonders

25:05 is that there are people today who claim to be Muslims,

25:09 yet they take their life's methodology from so-and-so and so-and-so,

25:13 from those whom Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has described as blind.

25:18 The relationship between the misery of humanity and taking guidance from the blind.

25:24 There is a relationship and dependency between the corruption and misery that afflict human life on this earth

25:32 and the blindness to the truth that came from Allah

25:36 to guide humanity to truth, goodness, and righteousness.

25:40 For those who do not respond to the truth that came from Allah, the Almighty and Majestic,

25:46 are the ones who cause corruption on earth,

25:49 just as those who know it is the truth and respond to it

25:54 are the ones who bring about righteousness on earth, and life is purified through them.

25:59 The lives of people on earth cannot be rectified except by such insightful leaders.

26:06 Yes, the lives of people on earth cannot be rectified or purified

26:11 except by having insightful leaders manage their affairs,

26:15 who walk upon the guidance of Allah alone,

26:18 and who shape all of life according to His methodology and law.

26:22 It cannot be rectified by misguided, blind leaders

26:26 who do not know that what was revealed to Muhammad, peace be upon him,

26:32 is the truth alone,

26:34 and who, consequently, follow methodologies other than the methodology of Allah that He has chosen for His righteous servants.

26:41 It cannot be rectified by feudalism or capitalism,

26:45 just as it cannot be rectified by communism or socialism,

26:50 nor by secularism or liberalism,

26:53 nor by democracy,

26:55 nor by the disbelieving systems of the West and the East.

26:59 For they are all the same in that they are among the methodologies of the blind

27:03 who set themselves up as lords besides Allah,

27:07 and legislate what Allah has not permitted.

27:12 The knowledge that those who turn away from the truth have regarding the outward appearance of worldly life

27:16 does not negate their blindness.

27:19 Indeed, everyone who has not known the truth and has not responded to it

27:23 is blind according to the text of the words of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic,

27:27 even if he is of the utmost intelligence,

27:30 and even if he has reached whatever he has reached in worldly sciences and inventions.

27:34 Such a thing is not accepted by the minds of the materialists who claim rationality,

27:40 and who say, "How can a skilled doctor,

27:44 a precise engineer, and a brilliant inventor be blind?"

27:49 This is the extent of their knowledge,

27:52 and it is not hidden what is in this understanding of theirs:

27:55 a clear contradiction of the report of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and His testimony.
