Allah the Exalted said concerning the jinn who were subjected to serve His Prophet Sulayman, peace be upon him:

"And when We decreed death for him, nothing indicated to them his death except a creature of the earth eating away at his staff."

“And when We decreed death for him, nothing showed his death to them save a creeping creature of the earth which gnawed away his staff. And when he fell the jinn saw clearly how, if they had known the Unseen, they would not have continued in despised toil.” (34:14)

“And verily in the heaven we have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for beholders.” (15:16)

And in Surah al-Jinn:

“And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors.” (72:8)
