0:37 Was the fulfillment of the words of Allah the Exalted:

0:39 "Certainly has Allah fulfilled for His Messenger the vision in truth:

0:45 You will surely enter the Sacred Mosque,

0:49 If Allah wills, in security,

0:53 Secure, with your heads shaved and hair shortened,

0:58 Having no fear.

1:00 “Allah hath fulfilled the vision for His messenger in very truth. Ye shall indeed enter the Inviolable Place of Worship, if Allah will, secure, (having your hair) shaven and cut, not fearing. But He knoweth that which ye know not, and hath given you a near victory beforehand.” (48:27)

1:03 And He brought about, besides that, an imminent conquest."

1:08 The Compensatory Pilgrimage (*'Umrat al-Qada'*) took place

1:12 In Dhu al-Qi'dah of the seventh year after the Hijrah.

1:16 For Imam al-Bayhaqi reported in *Dala'il al-Nubuwwah* with a good (*hasan*) chain of transmission

1:21 On the authority of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) who said:

1:24 "The Compensatory Pilgrimage (*'Umrat al-Qadiyyah*) took place in Dhu al-Qi'dah in the seventh year."

1:29 And the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) reported in their two *Sahih* collections

1:32 On the authority of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:

1:35 "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed four *'umrahs*,

1:40 All of them in Dhu al-Qi'dah,

1:43 Except the one he performed alongside his Farewell Pilgrimage:

1:46 The *'umrah* from al-Hudaybiyyah in Dhu al-Qi'dah,

1:49 The *'umrah* of the following year in Dhu al-Qi'dah,

1:53 The *'umrah* from al-Ji'ranah

1:56 When he distributed the spoils of Hunayn, in Dhu al-Qi'dah,

2:00 And the *'umrah* performed alongside his pilgrimage."

2:02 Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said:

2:06 "The point is that all the *'umrahs* of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

2:11 Took place during the months of Hajj,

2:13 In deliberate opposition to the practice of the polytheists;

2:16 For they used to detest performing *'umrah* during the months of Hajj,

2:20 Declaring it to be among the most egregious of sins.

2:24 This is evidence that performing *'umrah* during the months of Hajj

2:29 Is, without doubt, virtuous."

2:33 The Reason for This Pilgrimage:

2:35 The reason for this blessed pilgrimage

2:39 Was the treaty agreed upon between the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

2:44 And Suhayl ibn 'Amr,

2:46 The envoy of Quraysh during the Treaty of al-Hudaybiyyah,

2:49 Stipulating that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would return

2:52 That year

2:54 And perform *'umrah* the following year.

2:57 Imam al-Bukhari reported in his *Sahih*

3:00 On the authority of al-Miswar ibn Makhramah and Marwan ibn al-Hakam, who said:

3:04 "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

3:08 'On condition that you leave the way open between us and the House, so that we may circumambulate it.'

3:13 Suhayl ibn 'Amr replied:

3:15 'By Allah, the Arabs shall not say that we were coerced into this,

3:20 But it shall be granted for the coming year.'"

3:23 Imam al-Bukhari also recorded in his *Sahih*

3:26 On the authority of al-Bara' ibn 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), who said:

3:30 "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) concluded a peace treaty

3:34 With the polytheists on the day of al-Hudaybiyyah based on three terms:

3:39 First, that whoever came to him from among the polytheists

3:43 Would be returned to them;

3:45 Second, that whoever came to them from among the Muslims would not be returned;

3:50 And third, that he could enter it the following year—

3:54 Entering Mecca to perform *'umrah*—

3:57 And stay therein for three days."

4:00 Imam al-Nawawi said:

4:02 "As for the *'umrah* of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

4:06 Known as *'Umrat al-Qada'*

4:09 And *'Umrat al-Qadiyyah*,

4:11 It took place in Dhu al-Qi'dah of the seventh year after the Hijrah.

4:15 The Prophet (peace be upon him) had originally

4:18 Entered the state of ihram for *'umrah* in Dhu al-Qi'dah of the sixth year,

4:21 But the polytheists prevented him;

4:23 Thereafter, they reached a peace agreement with him,

4:25 And he concluded a treaty with Suhayl ibn 'Amr for a truce,

4:28 After which he performed the *'umrah* in the seventh year."

4:31 The Departure of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

4:37 To Perform the Pilgrimage:

4:39 The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out,

4:43 Accompanied by the Muslims, from the Prophet's City of Medina,

4:47 Heading towards Mecca—may Allah ennoble it—

4:50 To perform the *'umrah*.

4:52 He appointed 'Uwayf ibn al-Adbat al-Dili (may Allah be pleased with him) in charge of Medina,

4:58 And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) carried along

5:01 Weapons, coats of mail, and spears,

5:04 Out of caution against any treachery from Quraysh.

5:06 When he reached the station of ihram (*miqat*) at Dhu al-Hulayfah,

5:10 He dispatched the cavalry ahead of him,

5:12 Under the command of Muhammad ibn Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him).

5:16 The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) assumed ihram

5:19 From the door of the mosque and recited the *talbiyah*,

5:22 While the Muslims with him joined in reciting it.

5:28 A Rumor Spread by Quraysh:

5:32 When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

5:35 And his Companions reached Marr al-Zahran,

5:38 News reached him of a rumor propagated by Quraysh,

5:41 Namely, that the Muslims had been afflicted and weakened by the Medina fever.

5:44 For Imam Ahmad recorded in his *Musnad*

5:47 And Ibn Hibban in his *Sahih* with an authentic chain of transmission,

5:51 On the authority of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), who said:

5:55 "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

5:58 Camped at Marr al-Zahran during his *'umrah*,

6:01 It reached the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)

6:05 That Quraysh was saying:

6:08 'They can barely move because of emaciation,'

6:11 Meaning: they cannot stand up except with great difficulty due to weakness

6:14 Caused by hunger and disease.

6:16 Thereupon, his Companions said:

6:18 'If only we were to slaughter some of our riding beasts,

6:20 Consume their meat, and drink their broth,

6:24 We would enter upon the people tomorrow

6:27 Full of vigor and strength'—

6:29 Meaning refreshed, satisfied, and well-hydrated.

6:33 The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

6:36 'Do not do so;

6:38 Rather, gather whatever provisions remain with you for me.'

6:41 So they gathered their remnants for him,

6:43 And leather floor-mats were spread out.

6:45 Ibn Hibban added in his *Sahih*:

6:48 'He then supplicated for blessings upon the food,

6:50 And they ate until they had had their fill'—

6:53 Meaning they stepped away from the food completely satiated—

6:56 'And each one of them filled his pouch with handfuls of the remainder.'"

7:00 Abridged Prophetic Biography (Seerah):

7:05 Though people's longing for one another may endure,

7:11 The longing felt for you surpasses every measure.

7:18 May Allah send His blessings upon you as long as the call to prayer is raised,

7:24 And as long as lips move

7:31 In remembrance of the Ever-Living.
