0:25 The Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Deployment of His Army to Enter Makkah.

0:38 The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered

0:41 Al-Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him)

0:44 To pitch his standard at Al-Hajun,

0:47 And he ordered Khalid ibn al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him)

0:50 To enter from the upper part of Makkah through Kuda',

0:54 While the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered through Kada'.

0:58 In Sahih Muslim,

1:00 On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

1:04 The Prophet (peace be upon him) dispatched Al-Zubayr

1:09 In command of one of the two flanks,

1:11 Dispatched Khalid in command of the other flank,

1:16 And dispatched Abu 'Ubaydah in command of the al-Husar—

1:20 Meaning those without body armor—

1:23 And they took the bottom of the valley,

1:25 While the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was in his battalion.

1:30 The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) instructed his commanders,

1:34 When he ordered them to enter Makkah,

1:37 Not to fight anyone except those who fought against them,

1:41 Save that he singled out a specific group by name,

1:44 Ordering that they be executed even if found beneath the curtains of the Ka'bah.

1:49 For Abu Dawud recorded in his Sunan,

1:52 And Al-Hakim in his Mustadrak with a good chain of transmission,

1:55 With the wording being Al-Hakim's,

1:57 From Mus'ab ibn Sa'd, from his father, who said:

2:00 "On the day of the Conquest of Makkah,

2:03 The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) granted amnesty to the people,

2:07 Except for four men and two women,

2:10 And he said:

2:12 'Kill them, even if you find them clinging to the curtains of the Ka'bah:

2:17 'Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl,

2:19 'Abdullah ibn Khatal,

2:22 Miqyas ibn Subabah,

2:24 And 'Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi As-Sarh.'"

2:27 The Sheikh noted in the margin concerning these four:

2:31 "As for 'Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl,

2:34 Imam Al-Nawawi stated in Tahdhib al-Asma' wa al-Lughat:

2:38 'Abu Jahl and his son 'Ikrimah were among the most severe of people

2:42 In their hostility toward the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

2:46 Abu Jahl was killed on the day of Badr as a disbeliever,

2:50 While 'Ikrimah survived;

2:52 Then Allah Almighty guided him,

2:54 And 'Ikrimah embraced Islam shortly after the Conquest.'

2:58 Imam Al-Tahawi recorded in Sharh Mushkil al-Athar with a good chain of transmission,

3:03 On the authority of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

3:08 'As for 'Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl, he took to the sea,

3:12 But a violent tempest struck them,

3:15 So the crew of the ship said to the passengers:

3:18 "Devote your worship sincerely to Allah alone,

3:19 For your gods can avail you nothing here."

3:24 'Ikrimah said:

3:26 "By Allah, if nothing can save me at sea except sincere devotion to Allah,

3:30 Then nothing else can save me on dry land either.

3:33 O Allah, I solemnly pledge to You:

3:36 If You rescue me from what I am in,

3:39 I will surely go to Muhammad,

3:41 Place my hand in his hand,

3:43 And I will certainly find him clement and generous."

3:47 So he was saved and embraced Islam.'

3:50 As for 'Abdullah ibn Khatal,

3:52 The two Shaykhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) recorded in their Sahihs,

3:55 On the authority of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

3:59 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered Makkah in the Year of the Conquest

4:04 Wearing a helmet on his head.

4:07 When he took it off, a man came and said:

4:10 "Ibn Khatal is clinging to the curtains of the Ka'bah!"

4:15 The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Kill him."'

4:19 Abu Dawud stated in his Sunan:

4:22 'Ibn Khatal's

4:24 Name was 'Abdullah,

4:25 And it was Abu Barzah Al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) who killed him.'

4:30 Imam Al-Nawawi stated in his commentary on Sahih Muslim:

4:34 'The scholars said:

4:36 He was executed solely because he had apostatized from Islam,

4:41 Murdered a Muslim who had been serving him,

4:44 And used to satirize and revile the Prophet (peace be upon him);

4:49 Furthermore, he possessed two singing-girls who sang satires denigrating the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Muslims.'

4:56 Imam Al-Baghawi stated in Sharh al-Sunnah:

5:00 'His (peace be upon him) command to execute Ibn Khatal

5:04 Serves as evidence that the sacred precinct (Haram) does not grant immunity from carrying out a prescribed legal punishment incumbent upon an individual,

5:11 Nor does it necessitate its postponement.'

5:13 As for Miqyas ibn Subabah,

5:17 Imam Al-Nasa'i recorded in Al-Sunan al-Kubra,

5:20 And Al-Tahawi in Sharh Mushkil al-Athar with a good chain of transmission,

5:25 From Mus'ab ibn Sa'd, from his father Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

5:31 'As for Miqyas ibn Subabah,

5:34 The people caught up with him in the marketplace and killed him.'

5:38 Ibn Ishaq stated in the Seerah:

5:40 'As for Miqyas ibn Subabah,

5:43 He was killed by Numaylah ibn 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).'

5:48 As for 'Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi As-Sarh,

5:51 Abu Dawud recorded in his Sunan and Al-Tahawi in Sharh Mushkil al-Athar with a good chain of transmission,

5:58 On the authority of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

6:02 'As for Ibn Abi Sarh,

6:04 He went into hiding with 'Uthman ibn 'Affan.

6:08 When the Prophet (peace be upon him) summoned the people to pledge allegiance,

6:13 'Uthman brought him until he stood him before the Prophet (peace be upon him),

6:18 And said: "O Prophet of Allah,

6:21 Accept the pledge of allegiance from 'Abdullah."

6:23 The Prophet raised his head and looked at him three times,

6:27 Refusing him each time,

6:29 But accepted his pledge after the third time.'

6:32 Imam Ahmad recorded in his Musnad and Al-Tirmidhi in his Jami' with a good chain of transmission,

6:38 With the wording being Ahmad's,

6:40 On the authority of Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

6:44 'When the Day of the Conquest came,

6:46 An unidentified man said:

6:49 "There shall be no Quraysh after today!"

6:51 Thereupon, the herald of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) proclaimed:

6:56 "Amnesty is granted to black and white,

6:58 Except for so-and-so and so-and-so"—

7:01 People whom he named.'"

7:06 The Entry of the Muslim Battalions into Makkah.

7:10 The Muslim battalions entered just as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had commanded them.

7:17 Quraysh had assembled motley bands to stand against the Muslims—

7:22 Meaning they gathered assorted groups from various tribes—

7:26 So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordered the Ansar to fight them down.

7:32 For Imam Muslim and Imam Ahmad in his Musnad recorded, with the wording being Ahmad's,

7:38 On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

7:41 "Quraysh gathered their motley bands

7:44 And said: 'We shall send these forward;

7:48 If they gain any advantage, we will join them,

7:51 And if they are struck down, we will surrender whatever terms are demanded of us.'

7:55 He said:

7:57 Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) looked around and saw me,

8:01 And said:

8:03 'O Abu Hurayrah!'

8:05 I replied:

8:06 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah!'

8:08 He said:

8:09 'Call the Ansar to me,

8:12 And let none come to me except an Ansari.'

8:15 So I summoned them,

8:17 And they came and surrounded the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

8:22 The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) then said:

8:26 'Do you see the motley bands of Quraysh and their followers?'

8:30 Then, placing one of his hands over the other, he said:

8:34 'Mow them down completely

8:36 Until you meet me at Al-Safa.'

8:39 Abu Hurayrah said:

8:41 'So we set out;

8:42 None of us wished to strike down anyone among them but that he did so,

8:47 While none of them could direct any resistance toward us.

8:51 Then Abu Sufyan pleaded:

8:53 "O Messenger of Allah!

8:55 The heart of Quraysh has been utterly annihilated;

8:57 There shall be no Quraysh after today!"

9:00 So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) declared:

9:04 "Whoever closes his door is safe,

9:07 And whoever enters the house of Abu Sufyan is safe."

9:11 Thereupon, the people shuttered their doors.'"

9:15 A Summary of the Prophetic Biography (Seerah).

9:20 Though long the yearning all the world may share,

9:27 The yearning for you knows no bounds or measure.

9:34 May Allah send blessings upon you as long as the call to prayer is raised,

9:40 And with the remembrance of the Ever-Living,

9:46 Lips are moved.
