9:23 That if He had sent down an angel as they proposed,
9:26 their intended purpose would not have been achieved,
9:29 because if He had sent him down in his true form, they would not have been able to receive from him,
9:34 for humans are unable to address an angel or interact with him directly.
9:39 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
9:42 who was the strongest of creation,
9:44 would feel distressed when the angel descended upon him,
9:48 and he would be overcome by intense hardship,
9:50 and sweat would pour from him even on a cold day.
9:54 And if He had placed him in the form of a man,
9:56 confusion would have befallen them:
9:58 Is he an angel or a man?
10:01 So He said:
10:02 “Had we appointed him (Our messenger) an angel, We assuredly had made him (as) a man (that he might speak to men); and (thus) obscured for them (the truth) they (now) obscure.” (6:9)
